Saddened that Trudy didn’t have that many solo episodes, Olivia Brown is a great actress and she could’ve gone on to star in more movies if they’d given her more solo episodes where it’s focused on her character.
@@Olivira210 Still there are plenty of episodes were his role is much more secondary, which is good for a show. To have variety of episodes between the main cast
@@Olivira210but you still have to have a balance between the main character and the others. They still deserved to be fleshed out and not just stand there like some cardboard cut outs. IMO one of the reasons the later seasons felt so flat to me is because it was like Crockett and Tubbs were the only two existing characters.
Excelente episodio, estoy esperando q en el nuevo año ( 2022 ) Starz &Encore vuelva a pasar la serie q elimino de su programación a principios de diciembre.Está es la mejor serie de todos los tiempos.
The supernaturally-tinged ending with the phone call from the dead lifts the episode from its otherwise realistic basis, putting it in line with other season 4 episodes such as "Missing Hours". Interestingly, many of these episodes are Trudy-centric. Of course, it is possible the episode is simply trying to imply Ellen is imagining the phone call, having been driven over the edge by her experiences in the episode. Another explanation is that a high-profile case like that often attracts various mentally unstable people, like the attacker who earlier tries to strangle Beaks, and that caller harassing Ellen is another one. In line with numerous other episodes that makes for a very bleak ending since it means Beaks died in vain as he wasn't harassing Ellen after all and was honest at seeking forgiveness.
This underestimated episode can only fully be understood by people who work (or worked) for the police. Not only the victim, but also Trudy who led the investigation is seriously insulted by Beeks and Trudy feels responsible for Ellen. This responsibility goes too far, so that she doesn´t ask for other external police units who have a personal distance (because they are not concerned) in order to protect her and this is the main mistake which leads to all the following mistakes in the entire investigation. Sonny, Rico and the others realize that the judge decided wrong when he (or she) released Beeks but they don´t understand, that detectives can´t solve these problems with a "wild west" behaviour. The vice squad tries to help and to react on this maniac Beeks but whatever they do the investigations go in the wrong direction and they multiply the problems because of their wrong decisions. So during this case their investigations are just a nightmare. In the end Castillo finds the right words to summarize this disaster. This episode shows what really happens, when detectives have no personal distance to the cases they work on, when they take everything personally and when there are no coordinated investigations. The Vice squad completely lost control in this episode. That is the meaning of this episode´s title.

The main character here, as I understand it, is Sonny Crockett🤷♀️
