Balachandra Menon sir could impress the audience even at this point of time. He is always a good entertainer who could mesmerize the crowd equally at the box office and on the stage. Let Lord Mahaganapathi shower all goodness on you.
Mr.Balachandra Menon is seen speaking on the occasion to felicitate Smty. B.Vasantha , the singer of the yesteryears, on being her accorded with the Devarajan Master Award for her invaluable contribution as a play back singer. Vasantha has sung many songs composed by Devarajan, it was nice to watch Menon himself was seen presenting a couple of duet songs of Yesudas and B. Vasantha with Vasantha also was seen joining Menon to recite few lines of the song, leaving the audience spell bounded. Menon also spoke of his first meeting with the music maestro Devarajan at his house in Chennai , as he was somewhat perturbed to see the manner in which Master had behaved with an aspirant, who wanted to become a play back singer. In fact Devarajan Master was a straight forward person who spoke out with out hiding the facts. Master used to speak frankly about something even if it appeared to be unpleasant. Some people disliked this kind of an attitude emanating from Devarajan Master. But deep in the heart, Master was so kind and helpful in nature.

Whatever we say and sing words of praise about Devarajan Master, he was very rude in his prime days. Certainly he was a genius in our music world. Master should have been polite and humble in dealing with people who approached for chances. When he had chances and the command he could have easily brought in so many talents from our state. He didn't do that. Priyadrshan brought M G Sreekumar, MG Radhakrishnan gave chance to Chithra, Ilayaraja gave chances to Chithra, Jency, Min Mini etc., A R Rahman made Min Mini to sing Chinna Chinna Ashai which became a global hit. Devarajan master did nothing of that sort. When master was out of the field, he mellowed and became respectful and courteous. Perhaps he might have realised at the end that no one is indispensable, no matter how good one is any field.
Devarajan master introduced the following singers: 1 ks george 2 kpac sulochana 3 madhuri 4 MG Radhakrishnan 5 sreekanth 6 nilamboor karthikeyan 7 susheela ദേവി and സോമണി others. You not know devarajan. Master and his achievements. Master personally helped ms baburaj family after his death.
A lotof people in Film industry cheated devarajan master regarding renumeration. One malayalam producer didn't give his renumeration for 27 films. He directed music more than 325films. Got full amount only 150 films only. He. Kept a lot of retuned cheques which gave the producers.
He is indeed a great mimics artist!
