@@davidjobes2413 This is actually quadrantal bearing system. Here is few examples
Example 1: N 16-37E means 16°37'00" and if you want to convert this degree minute second to decimal then watch this video ua-cam.com/video/-BOj-hJynBc/v-deo.html
Example 2: N 15-30W means 344°30'00" i.e. (360-15.5)
Example 3: S 15-30E means 164°30'00" i.e. (180-15.5)
Example 4: S 15-30W means 195°30'00" i.e. (180+15.5)

I want to generate the coordinates for a given distance with respect to the perpendicular centerline of the track, which is already aligned as per coordinate, is it possible??? as i have the coordinates for the track center of each location.!!

@@LearnExplore if take length of selected point from origin point, and calculate it by L*sin@, and L*cos@, is it good idea...? Then can I get accurate point. Here the value of origin point is my robot's origin.
What should I do if I only have the coordinates in Geographic Coordinate System?
First conver it to UTM
by the help of QGIS.
or if u want to convert a single coordinate then visit latlong.net and convert it. Simply search on Google

then ad and subtract the radius from easting & northing to get all four coordinates

Hi, the data I have is a starting point in DMS format, then bearings and distance in this format. Bearing: S 72° 32’ E, Distance: 7.30m. How do I proceed so I can plug it in Google Maps/Earth? TIA!
Sir First you have to convert Quardantral bearing to whole circle bearing. Then apply our formula
@@LearnExplore I converted that bearing using the formula deg+(min/60)+(sec/3600) and arrived at 72.5333. Is this the correct whole circle bearing value?
No its not. Since your bearing is in SE quardrant that means it is in 2nd quadrant if we split in 4 quardrants in clockwise manner.
Whole Circle bearing is calculated clockwise from North.
So in your case wcb will be (180-72.533)

Yes ofcourse u can. The same formula as I shown will be used while calculating new corrdinate from dist and bearing

How did you get the starting coordinates? Normally they are shown like -33° 00' 00'' 151° 19' 18''.
The coordinate format u given is in lat,long format
But you have to convert the same to utm coordinate

To start a project you have to carry readings from a nearby permanent bench mark i.e. BM and establish a TBM i.e. Temporary bench mark

A circle has 360 degrees or 2pi radians - going all the way around is 2 * pi * r / r. So a radian is about 360 /(2 * pi) or 57.3 degrees.

Then u have invalid data. A line without bearing is invalid

It will not work for GPS coordinates because Earth surface isn't plane. It has round shape ;)
