Oh my, looks like 250K subscribers is not impossible to reach. That calls for a celebration video!
When my channel reached 100K, I asked you a question. I guess it is only fair, if you can ask me one this time.
If you have a question about me, my channel etc., feel free to ask in a separate comment on this video.
Your comment may be used and answered in the upcoming 250K celebration video.
Thanks for being here with me on this amazing journey into the fun and beauty of amateur science =:D

Those magnetic bracelets don't seem as silly now that we know that blood cells align under magnetic fields and change the density and flow of blood. In fact NASA and Harvard have been using PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields) to stimulate bone growth and tissue oxygenation. And far-infrared light can dilate your blood vessels by causing them to release nitrous oxide.
So much potential in energy medicine. The taboo is fading.

Based on what I've learned from The Film Theorists channel, Magneto is only capable of controlling materials that can be interacted with Ferro-Magnatism.
So yes, though he can't control materials outside of the range of Ferro-Magnatism, he can control all beings with red blood cells or chemicals that can be interacted with Ferro-Magnatism.

      Probrobly not, but maybe

    • @42osiris
      @42osiris 4 роки тому +1448

No. The main reason for my response is that you don't have enough unpaired electrons, therefore even if you would have the strongest of the magnets in the world would not be able to make you levitate. The mass of your body is far too big for the iron atoms to make yourself float. However.. If you would be in an environment with 0 gravity.. things could change, not much, but it could. Just as you saw in the video, the recipient with animal blood was sitting on a piece of polystyrene which was floating on water. Polystyrene's density is so low that when the mega magnet was approaching the recipient of blood, it was pushed away. This example tried to simulate something close to a 0 gravity instance, which proved a point. But on earth this can't be done.
Maybe I'm wrong but I'm trying to be of help. :)

After explaining this, now tell us about a Hemocyanin (Blue blood cell consisting of copper instead of iron (this is what makes the color difference - Red is iron because when metal rusts, it goes from gray to red. When copper oxidizes, it goes from bronze to blue). This is the blood of, for example, a Horseshoe Crab).

I'm no medical doctor (I'm a physicist) but I think it might be deadly to inset such stuff in your bloodstream.

Eat strawberries. That works way better than iron tablets, and without the side effects. It's been verified by several of my sisters and friends: The doctors were shocked to see how much they could improve their iron count in just two weeks. The doctors thought those women had eaten iron pills like candy. :) Some of my friends claim raspberries work too, but none of them have taken blood tests before and after, so we don't know for sure. The red colour in strawberries (and probably in raspberries too) is iron based.

Haemochromatosis is an inherited condition where iron levels in the body slowly build up over many years.
This build-up of iron, known as iron overload, can cause unpleasant symptoms. If it is not treated, this can damage parts of the body such as the liver, joints, pancreas and heart.

i dare say it's due to it now being carbon, i'm informed that carbon nanotubes are spectacularly more conductive than copper, so by logical extention the rule applies here. correct me if i'm wrong by all means

+sweet jesus No, through combustion, the oxygen atoms are separated from the iron. After the reaction is over, all that is left is I
Iron and anything else from the wood burning and some carbon dioxide.

Not me wishing I could have added this to my 6th grade science project....My teacher made me do the demo for all of the otber science classes so I thought it was fun to skip my other classes! All I did was use various metal things to make other metal things magnetic. I think she liked how engaging the demo was because I got all the students to do it with just their school supplies and they thought it was magic.

Thank you for the trigger warning. I basically can't function for a day after seeing a magnet.
