Tfw you thought this was clickbait and it was actually just a well constructed, professional and easy to follow video that taught me something. Quite honestly an excellent use of 9 minutes 45 seconds, glad this has several million views.
Those magnetic bracelets don't seem as silly now that we know that blood cells align under magnetic fields and change the density and flow of blood. In fact NASA and Harvard have been using PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields) to stimulate bone growth and tissue oxygenation. And far-infrared light can dilate your blood vessels by causing them to release nitrous oxide. So much potential in energy medicine. The taboo is fading.
No. The main reason for my response is that you don't have enough unpaired electrons, therefore even if you would have the strongest of the magnets in the world would not be able to make you levitate. The mass of your body is far too big for the iron atoms to make yourself float. However.. If you would be in an environment with 0 gravity.. things could change, not much, but it could. Just as you saw in the video, the recipient with animal blood was sitting on a piece of polystyrene which was floating on water. Polystyrene's density is so low that when the mega magnet was approaching the recipient of blood, it was pushed away. This example tried to simulate something close to a 0 gravity instance, which proved a point. But on earth this can't be done. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm trying to be of help. :)
Based on what I've learned from The Film Theorists channel, Magneto is only capable of controlling materials that can be interacted with Ferro-Magnatism. So yes, though he can't control materials outside of the range of Ferro-Magnatism, he can control all beings with red blood cells or chemicals that can be interacted with Ferro-Magnatism.
This is beautiful, I learnt biology, chemistry and physics in one video. This the most intriguing scientific clip I have watched so far. Admire the amount of effort put into doing the research and having different variables to carry out a fair test. 👍

When I was little, I knew that there was some sort of structure at the centre of the Earth, but I didn't know what it was made up of, so I thought that there was a huge powerful magnet in the heart of our planet and that's why humans were stuck to the ground: the iron in the blood was attracted to the magnet. What a curious mind I had at 7 years old XD
I was actually going to post my appreciation for the "bad day" joke as well, and was going to say "Who says Germans have no sense of humor?" 2:09 After explaining this, now tell us about a Hemocyanin (Blue blood cell consisting of copper instead of iron (this is what makes the color difference - Red is iron because when metal rusts, it goes from gray to red. When copper oxidizes, it goes from bronze to blue). This is the blood of, for example, a Horseshoe Crab).

You should do a comparison with water for that last experiment. I wonder if it would also be repelled in the same way. Additionally, you say that strong magnets in an MRI wont affect the blood because it's not in a ferromagnetic state, but what about the 20-40% of venous blood that is paramagnetic?
Dude bro! I have the SAME problem. I was starting to think I might not be as awesome as I think I am. Thank you for setting me straight and conserving my healthy self image.
Have a diagram of a hemoglobin molecule on my wall. Thank you for explaining why the iron is diamagnetic. I already knew about water being that, but your item has taken me another step. What an incredibly beautiful and fragile organism the human body is, depending on such a tiny amount of iron atoms, with their corresponding parameters.
There's a museum in the Netherlands somewhere where there is a strawberry or such floating between a couple of magnets, probably this is the same effect we see here. The iron in the blood is in such low amounts that the reverse effects are stronger.
As someone who suffers genetic HFE (hi iron in the body) to the point that the alarms will sound at airports, i thought that magnets could affect me but i feel relieved learning about magnets.
It actually isn't Red blood cells are actually regular cells at first, but then the whole nucleus gets ejected from the cell when a stem cell gets differentiated. So à blood cell have most of the cell components, except the nucleus. Thus it cannot produce its own proteins when needed, which also explains the low life expectancy of red blood cells (few months at most).
@@Anaklusmos42 Yea, its 120 days. They get destroyed in spleen (graveyard of RBC) Plus blood is made up of three components The fluid, matrix and the formed elements. Formed elements contain : RBC, (erythrocytes - forming red part of blood) WBC (leucocytes) and platelets, (thrombocytes). (You might be thinking I'm flexing, but no, I know bc I'm a biology student)
I think I ended up here because I watched some video of Magneto escaping from prison by ripping the iron off a prison guard's blood. UA-cam is trippin man XD.
Interesting how youtube says the most watched part is 4:30 when the experiment isn't conclusive but the most replayed section isn't 5:30 when the experiment is being demonstrated better.
Eat strawberries. That works way better than iron tablets, and without the side effects. It's been verified by several of my sisters and friends: The doctors were shocked to see how much they could improve their iron count in just two weeks. The doctors thought those women had eaten iron pills like candy. :) Some of my friends claim raspberries work too, but none of them have taken blood tests before and after, so we don't know for sure. The red colour in strawberries (and probably in raspberries too) is iron based.
@@jiminieugotnojams_5229 : Yeah. I am Swedish and speak Swedish, English and German and all three languages use different spellings for the "sh" and "ch" sounds, which constantly confuses me. English "shock" = Swedish "chock" = German "Schock". (Had to look them up to be sure.) And since I am Swedish I also understand Danish and Norwegian, so there are also Danish "chok" and Norwegian "sjokk". Then you have the s, c and z difference in spelling between American and British English. Like American "energize" = British "energise". It's a mess. In most cases the spellchecking plug-in in my browser saves me, but I just learnt there is an English word "chock" too (with totally different meaning than "shock") so the spellchecking didn't catch it.

If fe means iron on the periodic table, then would female mean iron man?
You should do a comparison with water for that last experiment. I wonder if it would also be repelled in the same way. Additionally, you say that strong magnets in an MRI wont affect the blood because it's not in a ferromagnetic state, but what about the 20-40% of venous blood that is paramagnetic?

There's a museum in the Netherlands somewhere where there is a strawberry or such floating between a couple of magnets, probably this is the same effect we see here. The iron in the blood is in such low amounts that the reverse effects are stronger.

It isn't red under a microscope doe- but it depends
Nope
@@Meyon__. Yeah.. Individual RBCs don't appear red...
It actually isn't
Red blood cells are actually regular cells at first, but then the whole nucleus gets ejected from the cell when a stem cell gets differentiated.
So à blood cell have most of the cell components, except the nucleus. Thus it cannot produce its own proteins when needed, which also explains the low life expectancy of red blood cells (few months at most).
@@Anaklusmos42 Yea, its 120 days. They get destroyed in spleen (graveyard of RBC)
Plus blood is made up of three components The fluid, matrix and the formed elements.
Formed elements contain : RBC, (erythrocytes - forming red part of blood) WBC (leucocytes) and platelets, (thrombocytes).

Me:constantly struggles to get her iron count up enough that her doctor stops poking on her
Eat strawberries.
@@davidgothberg I know it's a typo but hella funny

@@davidgothberg thanks
