And then, from the shimmering mists emerged Augustus, the founder of the Roman Empire, his aura magnificent and commanding. "Trajan speaks the truth," he asserted, his voice resonating with authority. "It was the empire that failed you."
Stilicho's heart swelled with emotions; the words of these great emperors were a balm to his wounded soul. But it was Aurelian who delivered the final truth, placing a reassuring hand on Stilicho's shoulder. "In death, we see with clarity. But it is not for the departed to dictate how the living should proceed. We can only watch, and hope."
