Good morning thanks for the winter riding tips 👌🏿🙏🏿.. have a good day
Thanks, you too!!
Thank you
Good old-fashioned Blighty wet weather 🏴👌🏻👍🏻👌🏻
How can you not love it 😀
Bib tights are definitely worth their weight in gold when it's cold I would like a pair of gore Tex MTB shoes but they are well out of my price range.
Great video btw Federico
Nice setup, I prefer to use waterproof wet weather road bike shoes much simpler in my opinion. (fizik r5).
Excellent as always ✊🏾👍🏾
Thank you!!
I takes dedication to commute in the rain, I avoid the rain like the plague 😂 Over here we wear long sleeves to hide from the sun or after an hour or 2 you get roasted. Looks like you are well prepared that's quite the foot protection, also I bet the butt rain fender works pretty well. Aloha 🤙
Really good advice here
Glad you liked it
Good sound advise as usual. I will get some of those ankle grips. ❤
Right on!
The bend advice is the most important: I broke a front tooth on a spring day after rain, pushing too hard on a bend near home. As I should have remembered from advanced driving courses: even before environmental factors, remember that three things reduce grip - acceleration, braking and turning.
I know, most of the roads have these metal slippery traps exactly where your turning line is!
I just hop on my wahoo kickr bike this year around :D cant be bothered with this. But nice video as always fede.
Waterproof socks actually work well. I commuted by bike for 12 years in all types of weather including rainstorms and snowstorms. What I did was use an older pair of cycling shoes just for the rain not made of leather. That with a pair of waterproof socks. Didn't care if the shoes got wet. At work take off the waterproof socks and put on a pair of regular socks. When going home reverse the process. Take off the regular socks and put the waterproof socks back on for the commute home. Stuff some newspaper or paper towels into your wet shoes at work. When you're ready to go home they should be almost dry. Because you're wearing the waterproof socks you won't feel any dampness left in the shoes. This simple procedure worked well for all those years.
Yep, SealSkinz and Gill socks are great!
I definitely should try them!
I had merino wool socks on at weekend and my feet got soaked but stayed warm and cosy
Yep, another vote for waterproof socks 👍🏻
Waterproof socks in the shopping list!
I did invest in a Shakedry top. Expensive yes, but so breathable and compact. And keeps me completely dry. Encourages me to go out more on rainy days. 😊
👍 👍
I have VeloToze rain shoe covers, I've used them only once. I have rain jacket, I didn't used it in the rain, after few minutes, you are more wet from sweat, then from the rain. But it's small, I'm keeping it in the pocket when I ride to the mountains, where is much colder and wearing it only for descents. That means, I don't go to ride when it's raining, and my 25 minutes commute is too short to be problem with rain, especially when it's over 10°C.
VeloToze look great, but I'm not sure how long will they last for me. For wind protection only have you tried lighter jackets? Usually they don't make you sweat as the waterproof ones.
@@fede1275 well, I don't know how they last, I've tried them only once, for commuting isn't worth to wear, and for longer rides, I don't ride in heavy rain 😉 Regarding wind protection, I don't care, from about 5°c up to 15°c I'm wearing merino jersey and merino short or long sleeve under layers, depending on temp. If you once try merino, you never want other. Btw, my summer kits are from Siroko, but my "winter" (read autumn/spring) kits from merino wool are from my local brand Isadore, not cheap, but worth the money 😅
@@romanpramuka2703 Isadore kit looks great as well! I'll check the merino stuff
I use Castelli Pioggia 3 Shoe Covers. They prevent water intrusion & could eliminate the need for gaiters & inner toe covers in temperatures like your video.
I've used an inexpensive "Capo" rain cape in the past, I got just as wet from sweat as rain no matter how I vented the thing. This winter I'll scotch-gard a softshell jacket and see how it works. And yes water in the shoes, just sucks.
Another great video. For myself, I would only add something to keeps the knees warmer/dryer. Either tights or knee warmers. Stay safe...
Absolutely, I go 3/4 when it's raining to keep the seal on the rubber gaiter. I'm not one of the cyclists obsessed with shorts all year around 😄
My Spatz toe covers have recently ripped as well. I really like them but they are too expensive to replace frequently. I definitely got less than a dozen uses out of them.
Yes, luckily under the shoe covers they can still work!
I am using full mudguards this year for the first time. They don’t look cool, but they keep my drivetrain much cleaner and don’t spray muddy water at the rider behind.
I will do the same at some point.
Riding a very fast bicycle with slick narrow tires, short wheelbase, and drop bars in the rain isn’t about safety at all, because it’s all about winning the race of your life and nothing else. And you are lucky if come back home as a winner.
I don't race anyone in the rain on a 10Kg bike...
Here you go amico, you are very close to getting my deep point.

Love the baguettes!!
Why shorts with this weather; Why no balaclava;
I don't have the pleasure of hair warming me up, I will use a skull cap in the winter!
Or a turbo trainer and a car!!😂
