Montserrat remembered to that night this way: "While he was singing, I noticed that his eyes were shiny with tears. I gave him my hand. He clasped it and kissed it. It was clear he was suddenly aware of his own fate. They were tears of farewell. It was his goodbye, at least to the stage."
Freddie was a huge fan of the Japanese culture, pls. check out La Japonaise of their duo.

I saw an interview with Montserrat and she said she grabbed his hand in the performance because she saw him tearing up

I can't get enough of this song, my absolute favorite Freddie Mercury and Monseratte Cabellé song! Her response to him singing and his emotions while singing to her show you just how much they deeply loved and respected each other.

A song made for him best friend, Montserrat, friends until death. His inspiration, his favourite voice . He did it before his death. All disc is a jewel.

John Deacon plays bass in this song and Roger Taylor's son Rufus plays drums in this remastered version recorded with orchestra from Prague

if if if - I'd love to have had them perform more songs together. So beautiful. Such different voices, different styles, then they just wrap their voices around each other.

Perfect reaction. People don't know what they're missing when they don't even know who Freddie Mercury is! ♥♥

This is my favorite song from this album. It still makes me tear up . This really for filled Freddie's dream before he left us. Love it. Two powerful Legends RIP❤️❤️💔 PS I have the same thoughts as you. I think Freddie lived life to the fullest because he didn't expect to be on earth long. Not saying this because of Aids...just in life general. Freddie always said he wanted to stay young. He will forever be 45 and a person who filled his dreams .

Just like you said, " Beautiful, Beautiful Freddie! " everything about him is magical and in my opinion, he's always been that way! I really enjoyed your reaction and your choice of singers is perfect 👌 Thank you sir and more Queen please!

THANK YOU for this one, Honey!
I always tear up watching this performance, knowing all of the "backstory". At-this-time, Freddie had secretly confided to Montsie about his terminal diagnosis, but had not yet told his bandmates... he didn't tell the guys in the band until 1989.
    REQUESTS....
I hope you have these on your list:
"THE GOLDEN BOY" live at La Nit (My FAV Freddie/Montsie performance!)
"EXERCISES IN FREE LOVE" (Audio-only, no video; the BEST audio has a pic showing Fred sitting in a tuxedo vest/bow tie)
"ENSUENO" (This is my FAV of their songs together; it's the "companion piece" follow-up to "Exercises In Free Love")

    Hey Philip...
Thank you dear, that was an awesome reaction... also "Guide Me Home" is another masterpiece that is sometimes paired with this song... they were such a beautiful couple... so much talent and finesse, a match made in heaven... "La Japanaise" is another song worth checking out, since Freddie was so amazed at the Japanese culture and all it had to offer... blessings.

Queen's John Deacon adds his spectacular bass to this fabulous collaboration of Montsy and Freddie. Hopefully he's as pleased as I am to have the track to revisit their team work. Amazing tear-inducing music from these legends. So grateful for your reaction attention.

Great reaction, thanks! I was looking at your list and you still haven't done much early Queen such as Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow 1974. You should check it out to understand the musicianship in this band. They can do any genre. Also, there's also another video that is a bit mind blowing. It's the crowd at a Green Day concert in 2017 at Hyde Park, London that spontaneously sings Bohemian Rhapsody together. No one is on stage. They are simply waiting for the concert to start. They sing all the parts with Freddie's inflections from the original video. They even sing the guitar parts!

This song was created shortly after Freddie got diagnosed for AIDS so I think lyrics of it have some deeper sense. Sad thing about this live performance was the fact that because of some health issues related with AIDS Freddie couldn't sing then and sound technicians messed up something with the playback at the beginning so everyone found out that he doesn't sings live.
