  • Tomorrow both Sir Keir Starmer and President Macron of France will travel to Washington for a Nato summit, where there is still uncertainty about who will be the Democratic Party candidate for president.
    (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
    Joe Biden has told Democrats he is firmly committed to staying in the race after prominent party figures called for him to stand down. The US president has continued to face difficult questions about his age and ability after blaming a bad cold for his weak performance in the first debate against Donald Trump.

      Complicity with Israel, Roe v Wade and losing to Trump. It's selfish to continue as such a failure.

      You obviously know nothing about the US and folks like me have seen the devastation at the border, at the pump, at the grocery store, mortgages, chaos abroad and giving aliens free hotels, food and shelter whilst our veterans are on the streets. Do me a favour and shush.

    70% of Democrats are with Joe Biden on this, while 30% want a change.

      @@kingbullyrock8739 I think the 50% (as well as the original guess of 30%) wish that the democratic nominee were not Biden, rather than being pro trump. IN FACT, I suspect that the people who still like Biden as the nominee, are those closer to the center (more in danger of voting for trump). I wouldn't say I'm super central, but I am closer to the middle than most, and I do support the president.

We'll just keep monitoring his capabilities in the White House as we should be doing as a party anyway. We also have Kamala and the Cabinet around to make sure Joe doesn't drive car off the road."

    Biden was weak at the debate and it was obvious from his first utterance. Right off the bat, my reaction was "uh-oh". He does show his age, but on that night something "extra" was going on, and he looked & sounded terrible, looked lost, etc. Sure, it was terrible, more than just a "bad debate" as some call it. HOWEVER, what I don't see is how we can jump ahead to decide that Joe can't see it through -- at least to election day. Suddenly all of these people seem to know something the rest of us don't, and they're determined to oust Joe. Hasn't he looked & sounded better since the debate? If he had to step down, I'm certain Kamala Harris could step into the job & not make a complete mess of it. What I *DO* worry about is Trump getting back in. Biden is *STAYING* -- for now at least -- and if he needs to step aside we'll deal with it *THEN* . People need to stop & think about what kind of outcome they want, and how their actions may be helping Trump. It seems like damn near everyone wants to help Trump, whether they know it or not.

    • @fintan9218
      @fintan9218 14 днів тому

      It wasnt “at the debate”.. that is how he always is. You just only believe what your bias allows. What is helping Trump is supporting joe who is losing in swing states and has abysmal approval ratings and cant even speak coherently.
