Probably one of the stupidest things I've heard of in a long time. If this story is true then that Chief and Fire Marshal need to look for a different line of work. We find ammo in fires all the time that go off and when we get the fire out and find more ammo we don't just burn the house down.....man.
The process is the punishment, This was about punishing the homeowner, no different than parking in front of a fire hydrant, and they bust your windows out to run the fire house, it’s to teach you a lesson, make an example of a homeowner, that’s what this was about, putting the homeowner and submission to the government
That is just stupid. If this is true, they caused a greater potential for danger than if the fireworks were removed to a safe location. Those fireworks are more stable than the average EV.
That fire chief is an idiot he lit those fireworks consumer fireworks are stable that’s why the public can buy them. Those were not professional fireworks it would have blown the whole house up at once. The fire chief should be fired and sued for burning that man’s house down
Daaamn , my boy won't do that again will he ? That'll learn him ! I think I might have just set up some remote master streams and flooded the garage to soak the fireworks into a sodden, pulpy mess . But , hey they didn't ask for my call and there's nothing worse than a keyboard fire chief , so good job boys .
So they could not go into the garage and spray water on the fireworks and then remove them but burn down the house was the safest thing to do what would happen if the fire started to spread if the grass was dry and there was woods that were dry and it started spreading and it burned down houses and killed people was that had been safeties the fire chief needs to be fired. So how stupid you have to be to be a cop or fire department chief
This freaked me out when it showed up in my recommended videos. In Indiana near where I live there's a big warehouse retailer called Shelton Fireworks.
Once fireworks get to point where they are unstable, it is more dangerous to move where you really don't know where a firework will go. At least in this way they could contain and limit any lateral damage as best they could.
I agree, I live in a wooded area with fire danger warnings issued regularly and I cringe when I hear people lighting off bottle rockets, very unresponsable.
The house was struck by lightening a few days before and the large amount of fireworks inside were deemed too unstable to remove from the home after the fire started by the lightening. There was no choice but to burn it the rest of the way.

If you block a fire hydrant, you are a piece of s***.
Is this a joke? This is no where near a responsible solution to this issue. You took a bad situation and made it more unpredictable.
all charges go to the fire department for burning the guys house down WTF.

Wow, the stupidity is rolling throughout this country like a freight train
When you're too stupid to do the right thing.
Unnecessary use of tax payer dollars.

💯💯💯
Overkill. There had to be a better way.

Unbelievable. Why not take the fireworks out of the house!
In the interview the Fire Chief stated that the fireworks were deemed to be unstable due to age and their exposure to the previous fire.
@briano6268 that doesn't make sense, fireworks don't get more dangerous with age like TNT

Bull
Dan: "fortunately it is very sad..."
Dude you need to read up the meaning of fortunately.
Fireworks, so stupid. They should quit selling them.
bs

They could have hosed them down if they were really worried about firecrackers - that's what I hear .going off in the background !
Fireworks should be banned from the public. It’s so irresponsible of the owners. The clearly don’t care about anybody but themselves.
I agree, I live in a wooded area with fire danger warnings issued regularly and I cringe when I hear people lighting off bottle rockets, very unresponsable.
Cars should be banned too.
You definitely voted for obama
So should your ability to vote
You should be banned!
