Welcome to the start of my portable electronic music gear adventure! One of my goals for this year was to get out of the studio and make music outside, and after a week of covid and a week of an insane ice storm, it's time I finally begin. Today I drove to a park I'd never been to before, pretty much out in the middle of nowhere! I brought the Dirtywave M8 with me, as well as a pair of drumsticks, and I definitely had synthwave on the brain. I'm very happy with the track I came up with, and I'm also very happy with how the video turned out!

What did you think of the video? This was my first real attempt at making higher quality content, with more of a direction, focused editing, better camera shots, etc. I know it's far from perfect, but I'm also very happy with the progress I made this week. Id critique the video quality looks a little compressed and soft. Maybe that's a export issue or a camera setting, or maybe the lens needs a swipe ?

As a drummer, you should know that the acoustics for wooden drums are unmatched in a forest like that. Seriously, the next time you go, tale a djembe, toms or even claves along. 👌

Looks like it was a ton of fun. I gotta get my portable gear out Ava get way from the his house more often. It’s still super cold here tho, maybe in a couple of mine months the water weather will be good enough for a nature jam.

Are the stabs and such samples or M8i? Been trying to synthwave for a while with a teensy but not nearly as successful as this.
