Automatic fuel select does NOT automatically select the "fuller" tank! It just cycles back and forth to maintain a bit of balance. It works on a timer. If one tank were to get ten gallons higher than the other, you'd have a 65-70 pound out of balance and it might be worth going manual for 10 minutes.
10 gallons won’t even be felt on a ~6000 pound plane. My 182 gets about 20 gallons out sometimes and you can’t tell. 50 gallons maybe, but just roll an aileron up otherwise.
@@eichelro Actually the TBM 700 POH states the maximum imbalance is 25 USG. Uninformed incorrect engineering advice is at best reckless. Charles Tait's comments were very reasonable.
