I have a couple of questions: 1. what brand was the header you purchased? 2. why are the tubes flat for cylinders 5 and 6? I'm tackling this soon and trying to gather as much information as I can before I start
The header was from Black horse racing. It fits 91 and newer only. The flat spots were from me trying to massage it down enough to clear the renix manifold which in the end did not work and I was forced to put the original exhaust manifold back on. Banks performance makes a header that fits the earlier model renix motors from 1990 and earlier. But if your jeep is 91 or newer the black horse header will bolt on and clear the manifold. You may have to notch your manifold in 1 or 2 spots to get a touch more clarence for ease of install but it should still work either way.
