  • When I first launched this channel it was known as "The Cutlery Cavern" Some really hideous videos were made and many of them had to be removed due to copyright restrictions. Others were removed because they were just that bad! But the knives in the video were deserving a second look.

    I like the reboot of the older reviews. The more knife reviews and info the better.

    The Myerchin reminds me of the old Spydercos with the molded clips. FRN is an extremely strong and durable material and I don’t get why people knock it. I had a Camillus much like that either the wood scales that I got from Wally World for about $12 and I loved it. A shame that it fell out of my pocket and into a 150’ void in the wall of a silo I was working in when my harness pulled it out of my pocket. That spike snapped like a bear trap! That Indiana Jones is a cool display piece. You can actually use metric Allen wrenches on Torx as long as they aren’t extremely torqued.

    Ooh, the Bear&Son Barlow is lovely. The Indiana Jones Swiss army with the morse code is really cool too. 👍

    This was a neat bunch of knives! I especially like that Bear and Son barlow. The handle on it looks to me like it belongs in a cabin at a campground somewhere. Cheers, buddy.

    I think your old videos are important for seeing the history of your channel. One thing Williams Knife does is number his videos. I think that is a smart idea that helps find a video and a subject or knife model easy to find. Finding previous videos is difficult if you don’t know where to look. I like watching yours and others previous videos and if can’t remember where they are it takes a long time to find them. I like seeing old knives you talked about previously. Sometimes it seems they turn out to be better than when you first talked about them the first time.
    Composite handle knives maybe considered less well made by some people. But, being made of such materials is surprising how good they turn out to work and last. They are not as appealing in looks but the strength and lighter weight is important if you use them every day. People might not collect them but there are lots more people using them. I tend to collect them for that reason and use them a lot too. ✨😺✨🙂

    the knife show went really well today, i picked up the winchester sunfish and i brought to the show a 3-4 inch whale tooth raw no scrimshaw that i picked up at an estate sale some years ago and traded it for a ka-bar sunfish sf86 but its not a one of 75 made for the mason dixon knife club it has a plain blade and i cannot find it online at all. i'm hoping they didn't make very many of them

    Love a good sailors knife too. Took my old one to work with me the other day just for old times sake.

    The Indiana Jones knife was my favorite. I still think Raiders is one of the coolest movies ever made. I have been doing more housekeeping on my channel as well. Thanks for bringing those knives out!

    You can change the music on a copyright claim song. When it comes up as a claim, the options available are to mute the song, replace the song with one from their library of free songs, or dispute the claim. I substituted songs on 3 videos that were not monetized because of the music & now they are fine. It takes a little while for them to replace it, but it does it automatically. Just make sure you like the replacement song because you can't change it once done.

      I’m just to confused with UA-cam. Plus I watch some of my old videos and cringe at how bad they are.

    I know you like the Bear BSA knife as we have seen it a few times on the channel and you have commented as such. If you have more information to share it would be appreciated. I agree with Jeroen.

    I really would like a special video of the BSA Barlow from Bear MGC, if you feel like it. For me it's a beautyfull piece and i wondered why the brought out a Barlow for the BSA. Was that done often instead of a scout/camp knife or a rarety? The choice to go for wood covers(and they look awesome) instead of plastic of some kind makes me think this was a more special edition? Thank you Tobias and have a great day.

    sweet set of knives , like the jack all of them in fact , there is no marlin spikes in my collection , yet , love seeing kitty as always she makes the channel more friendly , it must be hard but I do hope you continue to include her going forward ,

    • @KnifeChatswithTobias
      @KnifeChatswithTobias  2 роки тому

      Yes, the plan is to keep her as part of the channel. The Spike does come in handy now and then, especially if you need to deal with a poorly tied knot or you need to dig into rotting wood or such.

    This format is a great idea. I should do something similar. Some of my early videos were dreadful, and people occasionally watch them and put up less than complimentary remarks… usually when I say something particularly stupid!

    • @KnifeChatswithTobias
      @KnifeChatswithTobias  2 роки тому +1

      It makes sense, especially if you look at some of the numbers on them. This video had more hits in one day than some the others did in three years! The knives deserve to be seen!

    Would love some more info on United knives. I grew up thinking they were all really cool in the catalogs, but as I have found some old ones here and there, they seem to be hit or miss on quality.

      I'm not real familiar with the brand but my understanding is it changed hands on numerous occasions, similar to the "Hammer Brand" trademark. I'll see what I can find out.

    Bear & Sons should stop assigning the color-blind guy to dye the pakkawood.
    Actually, though, that orange, yellow, and green pattern is attractive.
    I like that Meyerchin rigging knife. It has a good beefy marlinspike and a serrated blade for rope cutting. The FRN handle will be unaffected by water or salt, and the 440 SS is reasonably corrosion-resistant. Both blades lock, and the lack of liners makes it easier to clean salt, sand, fish guts, oil, etc. out of the inside. Even the little red light could be handy in a pinch.

      I agree with you on both the Bear & Son and the Myerchin. I wished they would release the Myerchin again but with a white LED.
