Abandoned & Forgotten Places
Documenting abandoned mines like never before!
Let's take abandoned mine exploring to the next level!
With your support you can help make this the best abandoned mine exploring channel on UA-cam!
Shot entirely in 4K! ...so, turn up those video settings!
On this channel we go deep... REALLY DEEP into abandoned mines and tunnels all throughout the western United States. We researched some of the harder to find mines and hiked or 4x4 back into them to explore and reveal their hidden secrets. Many of these remote locations are filled with cool artifacts, antiques and unique geology that will have you guessing as to why the old prospectors worked so hard to find gold, silver, and other minerals.
A&FP moves just a bit slower as compared to other mine exploring channels. Gly discusses why the miners chose these sites and he points out the geology and minerals that got them excited. Veins of quartz filled with gold and silver made many men lose sleep in the 1800’s and early 1900’s and modern prospecting still does to this very day.
DANGERS? Oh yes, there’s allot of dangers associated with old mines. Un-exploded dynamite, blasting caps, bad air, bats, spiders, and snakes all find their home in abandoned mine shafts and tunnels. Oh, and let’s not forget rotting timbers, flooded passages and collapsing rock!
Gly takes abandoned mine exploring seriously with all the proper safety equipment, training, and experience necessary to do this activity as safe as possible but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a bit of fun along the way. “Gly”, your host and his band of crazy characters “Old Bob” (Gly’s Jeep), “Quackers” (Gly’s duck) and “Bobbie” (Gly’s hula girl) are sure to brighten your day with their comments and silly antics. Heck, they may even give you a chuckle or two.
Just like Saturday morning cartoons before the internet was invented, Abandoned and Forgotten Places uploads each Saturday at 7:00AM PST. (that’s 10:00AM for you eastern folks) so don’t forget to click that subscribe button and bell icon to receive notifications of new episodes!
Please LIKE, SHARE, SUBSCRIBE and COMMENT! All these things help grow our channel and your financial support helps us find new locations and helps put fuel into “Old Bobs” tank. Old Bob, thanks you!
Ok, now for the ugly stuff...

Laura gets better with every show, her doing the little solos is cool, we really like her over here, she seems like really cool people to hang out with and learn Mine exploration chops from 👍 Would it be possible to maybe once in a while have an episode where it’s just Laura?
Thank you both for sharing another fascinating mine😊
Good morning from Syracuse NY everyone and thank you for sharing your adventures
I lived in Massena N.Y.
@@johnizitchiforalongtime hi my friend
@@earlshaner4441 👌👌
This has been an excellent exploration season!
Mining in alluvium is like digging in a sand pit. Two steps forward, one step back. I like it when the camera follows Laura. It gives dimension to everything in stead of just seeing an excavation.
Hanging walls are just like wet farts ,you can't ever trust em😅
All the mines are interesting. I'm watching and saying "Don't do it!". :-) I'm glad to see you pass on at least some of them. Take care.
Thank you for not trying to get past that winze. The only anchors that would be safe would-be roof bolts. At least four footers. The only way that I'd get near that mine is with a big excavator. Get rid of all that alluvium. Maybe that is why the last miners left, they couldn't afford the machinery.
New video niceeeeee. Definitely looks like a ma and pa operation.
Good call. To dangerous.thank you guys for taking us along
Your channel was always good but now with Laura it's GREAT 👍
That mine did give off a creepy vibe, but still neat to see!
I like all types of holes. But I prefere the ones with gold inside.
We call that class 3 foundation which r3quires lots of support when doing construction.
Gly your getting as brave as Frank!!! You so crazy 😮
🤦♂️ Frank would’ve went down and up the ladder ☝️ 😆😝
This mine reminds me of the game of Mousetrap. Except the stakes are a lot higher in this one! I don't care what was down there; let's just write this one off and live to fight another day! This is the first mine you've done that I would have applauded if you had dinamited the entrance.
At 17:00 I was kinda glad it was collapsed. You probably would have went on in 😢
Your a brave woman lol. Thanks for taking us. 😅
Yikes! What a scary and very crumbly mine!
You’ve always been nice and considerate of the pack rats, how dare they throw rocks at the both of you 😮
Nasty looking mine
That is the shape the old mines in Oroville, California's
No1, sketchy, scarey to boot, glad you made it out. 2nd, careful with this one as well. #3, a no go. #4, Another no go. Check out the site, 1910 - 30's. Cool artifacts.
I could hardly watch this video of the mine. 24:38 DON'T put yourselves at such risk, please guys! We all value you too much! Talk about claustrophobic. That's never before happened to me during your videos. Otherwise enjoyed the brief tour of the camp site. I'd been wondering why we hadnt seen any videos of can dumps at camp sites recently. Thanks for all the effort you put into this. Laura you sure are brave!
I wouldn’t trust an anchor bolt in any of those mines.
That mine didn't look too safe at all. Great tour but you 2 need to know when to safe No! Be saferLaura and Gly.
Would gold have been found in the alluvium found in mines? I think that's the stuff Jeff Williams metal detects for nuggets
“Gly”: It’s possible. These would be called “bench gravels”.
Better quit calling the mine ugly! Like the urbex explorers going into abandoned homes that are 120yrs old always says “what a beautiful house” it,appeases the spirits!
this channel gives me HEEBIE JEEBIES!
Why'd you have to go ahead and mention biscuits and gravy so guess what I'm eating at 7 30 at night
Don't You ever worry about the vibration of your voices causing some of that rock to fall on you?
Hoesit you guys .
I must say, you did very well indeed considering the conditions .
I admire your judgement....... Never have we seen you make the wrong call .
Keep safe ..
Looking good, I don't know any russian at all but I can sorta recognise the alien alphabet they use because it looks like star wars aurebesh
Watch out for pack rats kicking rocks.
How do you manage to avoid stepping on nails sticking up from boards lying around these places? I notice this hazard a lot in these videos.
Just another reason to ALWAYS watch where you place your feet. And hopefully, you don't encounter one hidden in the dirt.
That was a very poor developed mine, endangering anyone who ever worked in it.
Ok Laura if y’all just stumbled across it where did y’all find the map & why edit it out? 🤭 Is that the real reason didn’t want to scramble down & up the ladder knew it was gonna face out?🤔🤷♂️
Romeo Oscar Bravo 30-
Very sketchy mines, great video as always❤
How come all the timber was raw wood not lumber because of the age of the mine.
mine was probably run on a very low budget and there was likely plenty of wood around the mine available for them to use. no point in paying top dollar from the mill and transporting it when you can do it yourself with a hatchet, axe, and single/two man saw.
You guys are turning into moles😂
Need to bring some new stuff to the table . Sad seeing this channel slowly lose views compared to a year ago . Honestly it’s almost like watching the same thing over and over again with just a few different things to see .
Well Gly you kept saying how ugly the mine was and you see what happened? It spit a rock at you. 😝😯
❤️👍
