I saw this video like right when it came out, wanted one ever since. Finally got one last fall and just played my first gig with it. It’s a piece of art
Finally a good sounding PRS!! :) Thanks to the new pickups. I knew! those old pickup were stale sounding ,like playing behind the glass.. These pickups are open, Organic (if you will).
Yep and pretty easy to understand and fast to use. For my SE 245, I'm going wild and I'm gonna install two additional 4 position selectors (one for each P-Rail pickups positions: Single Coil, Parallel, Series and P90). Something similar of the 513 but with 2 PU setting selector and use the push-pull for "out-of-phase" and "Bridge & Neck Parallel/Series". I haven't count how many position it could do, but that's a lot... I started this mod long time ago, but now I'm just looking at the 408 ;)
They are out in the stores that carry PRS after being held back thru this year's Experience. I know The Guitar Sanctuary in Texas has 'em but any shop that carries PRS should have some by now.
One thing this video doesn't convey super well is how amazing those pickups are. You can hear how they sound, but you cant really hear how they "feel". Its hard to explain.
@@benallmark9671 Lets see... you decided it was appropriate to use a post thats almost a decade years old to nit pick ... "what" point exactly? I dont even understand what youre asking; "why did PRS discontinue a model they had enormous success with and even though they replaced the 408 with another model entirely, Im going to pick out this one comment and ask my stupid question in a very sarcastic manner!" Really dude?
Guitars are more than just electronics. I'd like to know more about the whammy system, which was not demonstrated or even mentioned. Ditto for the scale length. Would have also been nice to compare the mahogany with the maple top version. Not nearly as informative of a video as it could have been.
Well, let's see...He's got an entire basement stock full of different kinds of guitars and basses. He has a closet where he keeps all of his amplifiers. He's played guitar for at least the last 20-30 years. So yeah, I'd figure he's played a strat before ^_^; (Oh, and he has a sponsorship with PRS iirc?)
Sad thing is that I came to this video to see what the guitar sounds like in the middle position both in single coil mode (seriously). He kind of skipped that part D:

Just got one last week, it's great!
Kudos to PRS for inventing new pickups.
i have 25 guitars, and this guitar is the greatest, the feel the sound , t is unbelievable
Good god! I doubt I've seen a more beautiful sounding looking instrument. Well made demo!
I cant say enough good things about my 408, and it looks as good as it sounds. This axe can do it all!
... just beautiful really i mean , just awesome ! great tones btw
REALLLLY good demo Bryan, thank you PRS..love this guitar..
408, Paul's Guitar, and 513 are my favorites. Very versatile axes.
Salvatore Filippone I agree, I love my Paul’s guitar. The versatility is just fantastic!
I will have this guitar one day

Excellent playing.
wow this is really cool!!! i knew theyd have to do it sooner or later. still probably gonna be expensive but still awesome.

I put the same setup on both of my SE Customs - great setup!
WONDERFUL GUITAR!
Sound is very clear.
Sounds great!
finally a Prs for my style
Agreed. Though I'm sure I'll eventually want another.
the single coil sound & the humbucker sound sounds almost the same...is it my own problem? what do you guys think?
Is there anyway to have Bryan demo a McCarty 58? I find his demos more helpful to me.
Thanks!
LOVE IT! But wait, I love all PRS guitars
He did not show both pickups in single coil i think.
Why am I waiting 10 months for two artist series McCartys ordered in September.HURRY THE HELL UP PEOPLE
i dont think you can order it yet. theyre just announcing it.
PRS is my favorite guitar, yet I don't own one. What kind of sense does that make?
perfect
Sounds very good. Like!!
u can add ur own drive, using ur settings, then it'll be ur unique sound.. add some reverb, chorus or whatever u want!
Can you play both pickup in single coil?
Yep!
I`ve just counted 7 sounds/ pickup configuration positions!! What`s missing?

Not that I’m doubting you but why in hell would they discontinue them then ? Why do ya think

no, that's the room (for commentary) mic coming up to hear talk back.
I didn't know Edward Norton played PRS...

i meant. the guitarist voice
Do you suppose they could be bought in store?
Or other online sites?
Great guitar, but like many others asking here, where can you get one?
music stores that have prs
Was reverb added in post processing? It seems to cut out whenever he starts talking.
More importantly, what song is he playing in the beginning?
Where can i buy one, cant find it anywhere.

Beautiful sound :) easy to move up and down the fretboard?
@californiarock Strange sound recording better from video camera ! Lové PRS guitars I havé severals
I want to love PRS so bad, because they're so well made and drop dead gorgeous, but they always sound like they have rubber bands on them to me.
What color is this guitar?
Es HERMOSA!!!
what amp are you using please.
PRS 2 channel "H"
Great sounding guitar! Looks great in color... Lose the "artistic" switch from color to b&w... its too distracting!!!!

It's spanky, but not maple body Tele spanky.
LOL you got it buddy :)
The Guitar sound is Great. but the recording of the voice is shaky.
10s
I wish somebody would demo this guitar with a decent amp...
Willcutt Guitars
Ebay
The tone and playing complement perfectly. Very desirable sound.

Just means you're poor like everyone of us
Unless you've smoked so much that your ear is damaged, no.
