I haven't watched DAMBUSTERS yet, but this ad just makes me laugh! Worthy of discussion in any advertising class. Parkvillage, if you know the guy who conceptualized this TVC, tell the lad I'll raise a Carling for him soon.
That's great performance of Dambusters theme, much better paced than OST pieces I see on youtube. Is it original performance for this ad? Can it be found without sound effects and voices? The ad itself is ecxllent, it should go without saying :)
You said: “Improving the well being of a corporation is best served by improving the wellbeing of its customers”. I disagree. I say the following is true. ”Sometimes, for a megacorp, its wellbeing is not always served by producing the best product/service for customer/end-user at lowest price” [1]When the power balance between customer and megacorp lies heavily with the latter, it can bully the customer into accepting the price & quality it decides is ‘fair’. In this situation, there is no way for a customer to vote with their wallet. They have to accept higher cost for an average/inferior product. Customer satisfaction is not priority#1, it’s more like priority #6. Obviously, the product must still have a minimal functionality that it can’t sink below, and a max price it can’t exceed. [2]Customers don’t always know what a good product looks like. They sometimes accept the average and believe they are getting something improved. [3]Megacorps have wider objectives in addition to enduser wellbeing and profit. They may take a reduction in profit or compromise product quality in order to meet these wider objectives. [4]Megacorps must deal with wider political & cultural pressures for which again, they may sacrifice profit & product quality. However, there are occasions when customers can vote with their wallet. Corporations must then reduce price & improve customer satisfaction - it moves from priority #6 to #1. However, this is not a desirable position for a corp. A corp does not intend to provide bad products, pauperise or harm its customers, but to guarantee a predictable income from them. Above all, they seek to control the relationship, to be the dominant partner.
I would imagine they would be proud of that advert as they got up to some mischief themselves like shooting the statues in the garden of the Petwood hotel which was the offices mess at the time .

A Alemanha tem uma grande tradição em guarda-metas. Esse era o pai do Sepp Maier.
