Forgot QB Craig Morton spent 3 horrible seasons as a NYG 1974,75,76- and to think Dallas GM Tex Schramm traded him in division no less) for the NYG #1 pick 4th overall in 1975 that pick became HoF and SB MVP Randy White.
I remember the Giants opening day win over Philly. I was 13 and at Shea with 52,000 other people watching the Mets Fan Appreciation Day game and listening to the Giants on my transistor radio. I was at the Giants vs Colts game in December and it was cold as could be in the upper deck and the Giants lost 21 zip.
My first Giants game live was the game against the Redskins at Shea. I was 11 years old and finally had the chance to see the NYG live with my Dad. One of my greatest memories of my father when I growing up.
@@Cape-Dweller Hey, that’s really cool! I actually lived in DC in mid to late 1980’s and actually adopted them as my second team after the NYG. Was there at Champions Sports Bar at the corner of M Street and Wisconsin Ave when they beat Denver in SB. Great times! 👍
The ‘75 Giants actually improved by three games over ‘74. However, the momentum would not carry into ‘76, where the Giants lost a heartbreaker at Washington in week one, leading to a 0-7 start and the end of the Arnsbarger tenure.
Starters played more but they meant nothing. If a win over the Steelers in the preseason is your highlight, maybe a season film should not have been made.
The "Disco" Uniforms of 1975-78! White stripes added to the helmet, blue away pants with those wide stripes on the side ... screaming the 1970s!!! Wishing they'd bring these back and Tommy Chicken Cutlets can do his best Craig Morton take!@@patrickhaddon5187
Every NFL team had one produced by NFL Films at the time. They would send the films to the teams who would use them for marketing purposes. Hence, all the big to-do about the two end of season wins and the opening of Giants Stadium for 1976 at the end. This film is what "The Wilderness Years" were all about. Not having their own home stadium, on top of not having any talent to compete, results in what Howard Cosell used to refer to them as "The Hapless, New York Football Giants." The present team is not even close to the hopeless state Arnsparger's teams were in.
This was the Disco Uniform of the 70s. Imagine if the team was any good, we'd be seeing these uniforms on Throwback days with the funky blue pants, no less!
Not a Giants fan but ive always preferred the '75 helmet logo to all their otherss
When Beating the Steelers in a preseason game is your highlight- wow.
1975 Shea field was a sandlot! Crazy seeing that now with every field in perfect shape for every game.
Shea Stadium was heavily used in 1975 as it hosted the Mets, Yankees, Giants and Jets
My New York Giants, at their absolute worst. Their highlight of 1975 was their exhibition win over Pittsburgh.
It was truly the “dark ages” for our Giants.
Even their helmet logos sucked.
They did improve 3 games from 1974.
Pisarcik's fumble was peak Giants misery!
@@rstone08 Agreed %100!
Those helmets were straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
11 Years Before 1986 New York Giants Super Bowl Championship Thanks For Uploading

But look on the bright side. We still ended up with Al Simpson. Al who???
Typical of the NY Football Giants of the 1970’s. The Mara family feud was in high gear. Sad.
After 1972, the Giants were a disaster until George Young was hired and picked Phil Simms to begin the rebuild of the team.
That playing field looks like the dust bowl
Had 2 of my pals over to watch the game on that Mon. night. Hard to believe I was 25 at the time...
The only year they had that different NY logo, and the only year they played at Shea (along with every other team in New York).
I was six years old at the time and I thought it was hard to believe! I feel for both of us!

Same here. First game with dad behind the outfield goalpost; warm day for November. Skins fan, however.

They played at Shea!
Ray Rhodes future Eagles head coach.
And hearing “The Autumn Wind” as one of the themes. No Ray-duhs here …

The year at Shea
The false promise of the 6-0 ‘73 preseason should’ve been fair warning. Why are there no logos on their helmets in the preseason?
The ‘75 Giants actually improved by three games over ‘74. However, the momentum would not carry into ‘76, where the Giants lost a heartbreaker at Washington in week one, leading to a 0-7 start and the end of the Arnsbarger tenure.
Times must’ve been tough in ‘75 as the Giants couldn’t get helmet decals for the preseason.
Pretty sad when the highlight of your season was winning a meaningless preseason game.
Were exhibition games a bigger deal back then?
Starters played more but they meant nothing. If a win over the Steelers in the preseason is your highlight, maybe a season film should not have been made.
Why were the Giants on MNF in those years? Guess only because they're a NY team.
No logo on the helmets for the Giants? Why?
Preseason
They’d unveil an “updated” NY for the regular season. And new unis for the year. Blue pants with their road whites. Thankfully that didn’t last long

The Autumn Wind is a…..GIANT?
Why are there even ‘highlights’ of the 70s Giants. Those teams were some of the absolute worst in NFL history.

Those 1975 uni's aren't that bad looking.
The “dark ages” for the Giants. Terrible teams with equally terrible helmet logos…they look like an 8th grader’s doodling
