A former college offensive lineman himself, Coach Codutti puts former 5-star, Penn State legacy Nola Rucci under the microscope as the PA native fights for a starting role this spring. In three years at Wisconsin, Rucci saw limited action, lining up for just 70 total snaps -- half of which took place in the Badgers most recent bowl game vs. LSU.

Looks like a player who hasn't been properly coached. Hope Traut turns him into a pro and Rucci serves as an example for in-state 4 and 5 stars who think the grass may be greener somewhere else.

Well he only went there because his brother was still playing there.

I would love to see more breakdowns on what Andy Kotelnicki brings to Penn state and how our offense might look.

He is like that huge powerful OT at Bama this year who benches 520 and squats 785 but has flexibility problems.
He is projected to move to guard as speed rushers at DE the NFL would beat him consistently.
This guy for the Nittany Lio s is in the same mold.

Can’t teach size, aggression, natural play strength, and athleticism. Despite his poor technique, he looks impressive.

His rear-end, even in his stance, is pretty high, and when he makes his strike in pass protection, he's only anchored on one foot. You can see the potential, but it depends on his willingness break old habits. He needs to learn how to "sit on his hips" to give himself better balance.

I would love to see more offensive and defensive line techniques from FTB since the turnover of the positions on the Penn State football squad.

How does an OT like Rucci go to a program like Wisconsin known for developing Olineman and not have his hand placement corrected after 3 years?

When Wisconsin had the dominant OLINES, the coaches were BOB BOSTAD who left and went to Indiana, and Joe Rudolph who is at Notre Dame. There’s a reason why a bunch of O lineman left the program in the last 2 years. Jack Nelson who is the starter now, is a senior, he was a stud coming out of HS like RUCCI was. Bottom line the great O Line coaches are gone.

Love the nasty attitude...we need more of that. Technique can be fixed. Love the pick up from the portal.

Rucci may need a little work but he's better than Drew Shelton or J'Ven Williams.

Williams is a very young player, he is going to be a beast!!! Comparing Nolen to Williams is ridiculous, literally!!!! WE ARE 🏈 Unrivaled

@@kevinchandler179 it's not ridiculous to start the best option at both tackle positions. And right now if Donkoh is the starting RT then Rucci is a better option at LT than Williams or Shelton. Kevin you're a very nice guy that always says the nice positive things just because. But the fact is both Williams and Birchmeire we're high four and five-stars and have looked very bad with little Improvement. There is nothing indicating thus far Williams will be a beast. Donkoh on the other hand could be as good as Donovan Smith was. Birchmeire is very disappointing because he came in pretty developed and not just physically but in his overall game. He was the VA HWT state champ in wrestling which usually means they understand how to use good leverage and our strong. But he hasn't looked good.
