A lot of young people don’t understand the concept of humor. You can actually see it in their faces (not specifically the people in the video just all young people)…they hear something about have to process whether or not they should be offended or if it’s ok to laugh.

The only thing I could think about while watching this was, "Look at how badly the school system and social media have brainwashed these people, to the point that they have no idea how to laugh at the absurdities in life." That's what comedy is. You ARE allowed to laugh, it's okay.

  • @janjones2629

Watching this is a bit sad. Most of the way through this, they don't seem to know if they should laugh, or turn it off with disgust. It's a real reaction to people that have been absolutely brainwashed with "politically correct" propaganda. It's like they are a little dead-inside. They know everything Godforsaken thing they are hearing is 1000% "fact", but still can't muster the courage to laugh about it. It IS tragic. It IS heartbreaking. But you've lost a bit of your humanity, when you can't laugh about the outrageousness of it all. THAT is what we USED to do, as a society. Actually, they remind me of what it must be like to live in CHINA. WATCHED, "NOTICED", "RECORDED", and robotic. Won't come back for more reactions. They are not alive.

It's difficult to explain to young people what jokes are because they were all beaten
with the "don't bully" stick their entire lives. It's sad and somewhat depressing to watch young people react to comedy because they literally don't understand what it is that they're watching. They don't know that what they're hearing isn't to be taken
literally. They are jokes - things meant to exaggerate reality just enough to make you laugh. It's an art form of jest, not something you have to wrap your head around morally.

@E. B. Hello E.B. ..... I appreciate the tact in which you presented the question.
Crazy how the mind works, I thought about this post a couple of days ago and I really am a prolific poster, so for me to think of it out of thousands of posts and now here you show up makes me wonder if thinking of the post was intuition or coincidence, I lean to the latter, but it's so curious.
Well, any licensed professional performing psychoanalysis knows that the first rule of psychoanalysis is to never practice it from afar but always in front of the person/patient. Supposedly, it can't be done correctly from afar. I'm not a professional so I'll leave it to the pros -- but that's what I have read. My intention was not a complete diagnosis but more like an alert, in a person-to-person context, as to what I was seeing which I thought at the time was very striking.
To the point you made, I agree with you...... to what you seem to be asking/implying ........that it's not good social cue on my part to say that. I actually thought about that when I made the initial post. And, I was also concerned I might hurt their feelings with my comments, but after thinking it through I concluded the help from my words might weigh a lot more that the hurt from my words. I definitely did not want to offend them -- it just seemed like good people who might be causing themselves harm by not socializing more in the "real world" untethered to their smart phones and computers. It's the same social problem were now facing with kids having used face masks for Covid. Many are not picking up on facial cues, etc.... stuff we all take for granted but in truth it's a learned endeavor. Face masks for that long damaged kid's social learning and adaptation to other humans.
Hope that makes sense......and if the original posters read this I hope you know my intentions were for the best for you kids.
      .

      @lanier1000 Рік тому

@E. B. It never went through my mind or occurred to me that they were not following some kind of protocol or expected reaction when compared to similar videos. I can now see why you may have thought that.....I could have been more clear originally. I meant those things in a general way in regards to everyday social interactions, not as to how they should act on a "reaction video". That was an oversight on my part and I should have been clearer.
I agree with the parts regarding fake laughs and such......so much of this is moving towards the shallow, cheesy side where every video some folks react to is almost identical to the last one, "IT'S JUST INCREDIBLE -- OMG !! -- I NEVER KNEW !! "
They definitely did nothing wrong, definitely not, but I'm an older guy and I guess I thought I was trying to help them out. I thought their facial expressions and timings of such expressions, voice inflections, etc.... were very askew.
Something definitely did not seem right. If I was wrong about that somehow I guess that would officially make me a total jerk. :) However, it would be a jerk that had good intentions.

I have often had a conversation of this format in my life:
They ask me: Do you like to read books?
    I: yes, I do.
My interlocutor: why? Isn't that boring?
Me: how boring?! On the contrary, it is interesting! Besides, it's informative!
Interlocutor: I tried to read, it's boring. And there are no pictures.
Me: Do you still need pictures in the book?
    Sobosednik: Yes.
    And so on.

UA-cam must have recommended at least fifteen of these "reaction" videos in the last month, all on the same piece by Chris Rock. Reaction is definitely not the right word, as in nearly all of the videos there is no reaction at all. The people just stare and, at the most, say "Oh", "My God", or "Huh". If they would at least say something lke "Wow, things have changed since the nineties" or "You couldn't get away with that today," It might be interesting. But all we get is deadpan expressions and no reaction at all. Makes me wonder why they make these videos in the first place.

The problem that Chris Rock jokingly talks about is very relevant in Russia. Only I would call it "normal people and cattle" in our country, it is not very pleasant to meet bad people. So, it's not about race. Or does someone disagree with me?

  • @Cerber.himera
