You would say. He's still got two rings and two Finals MVP awards sitting on his mantle. People can hate all they want, but they can't take it from him.
On one side it’s disappointing that injuries took away many games from us to watch one of the greatest scorers ever, and on the other I don’t really care bc of the bs he pulled with gsw…and he’s still trying to stack the deck which is sad
KD and kyrie are similar in the fact they can’t win without stacked teams. People are just in love with their play styles but it hasn’t translated to chips.
No one feels sorry for him. He quite literally ruined the league for a good 4 years because he’s a wuss. He went from being Lebron rival to just a guy who’s very good but no one will put in the top 10 all time.
As much as i feel the hate for KD is sometimes too much...i can't forgive him for ruining what could have been one of the best rivalries to happen in the nba between the cavs and gsw. It is such a shame.
He still won 2 rings. Lebron won with the big 3 and then also in Cleveland with Kyrie. Curry has won by having just an annoyingly legendary squad for a couple years. Celtics won with their big 3-4. Etc. We are now just seeing really solid core teams with 1 outstanding player get wins like the Bucks and Nuggets.
@@shortyboymoran483 KD is definitely winning again. NBA wants his haters to believe he won’t. It’s working KD is 35 Years old. His coach Charles was murdered at Age 35 Number #35 Could end with, 3 Championships, 5 NBA Finals Appearances. In Gematria, Suns = 35 Sun ☀️ Biggest Year science.nasa.gov/resource/the-suns-big-year/
I feel like KD lacks the speed/ stamina of other smaller players, and he’s lacks the strength physically to dominate inside with players his size.. In that case, he can be stripped, harassed, doubled teamed, etc. doesn’t have the best ball security or handle. I just feel bad for him he’s really a 7 foot shot maker
He probably could have won one in OKC honestly. He got pressured to get a ring so he leaves. People say his rings don’t count and he can’t do it as the man on his own team(valid takes) so he leaves again. It’s easy to say but he should have stayed in OKC or GSW honestly.
Simply put... you cant cheat the game. It's not the basketball gods he's just never satisfied with a situation. He could still be on the warriors if he wanted to be.
Still better than Carmelo with 0 rings. At the end of the day KD will go down as one of the greatest and most skillful player to ever play the game of basketball. The Slim Reaper.
For me those two rings at golden state are worth half as much as each of the rings kahwi won at Toronto or giannis did with the bucks. The guy ran away to a dominant team and won the easiest rings a great player has ever won. Yes he won mvp, but a player half as good as him would've still won those two chips as we saw with wiggins in my opinion.
Disagree that Kawhi's ring was worth more. He joined an already strong team, 'led' them to 2 fewer season wins than the prior year, was out a lot in the RS (played just 60 games) and the Raptors had a better w/l record with him off the court than on. Then it took a well contested miracle shot bouncing around the rim four times to drop to get past Philly.
For proper context, that means he has more rings than every one on the first Dream Team except Jordan, Magic, Pippen, Robinson and Bird. He's got the same number of rings as Wilt, Kawhi, and Hakeem. One more than Oscar, the Logo, Doc, Moses, Dirk, KG, and Kidd. Or you could just say he's got more rings than 61 of the players that made the NBA's 75 list - so it would seem that the basketball gods hate other players who've never won shit far more than they hate KD!
Everyone knows Kd’s rings are worthless. So other than his rings what does he have? He’s not in top 10 scoring, he has one scoring title, one mvp, nothing else really. Hell if you take the rings away from KD his career lines up like AI’s or Carmelo’s.
@@JJ-mb5ktEveryone said the same thing about LeBron's rings in Miami now nobody cares. In time the fact KD won with the most dominant superteam won't matter either only that he won.
@JJ-mb5kt Only people who don't value winning think rings are worthless. This idea that accepting losing is somehow noble is only popular among people who've never had any success. KD was the best player on a team that won back to back titles which is why he has two Finals MVP's. That you don't value winning is your problem because I've been to the Naismith HOF and Durant's name is on the same wall with the inductees who have championships and that's all that matters.
@@thomascrowniii1693 It's fair to argue either KD or Curry being the best player on those teams. Both benefited greatly from the other being on the court with them.
Rusty Buckets once made the point that the Warriors were such a perfect situation for KD to walk into that he was then seen as perfect by association. After he left, it was gonna be very difficult to replicate his success there because every situation is not perfect. However, due to the hatred he received for joining them, a lot of people were expecting him to MAKE a perfect situation on another team, which was not gonna happen because not every team is the Warriors. I find it stupid that a lot of people are now using his lack of a ring since leaving the Warriors to rewrite his legacy. That's not how it works.
IMO you are complicating something that is very simple. That Warriors team was too stacked, hence people do not respect the rings. We want to see him do it outside of that situation, and he has failed, despite playing with a lot of talent. It has nothing to do with not being able to replicate perfection, other than that if you cannot win outside of a perfect situation, that goes to your greatness
@@davidng8870 Any time somebody mentions a Rusty Buckets take, I always know what they're boutta say finna be stupid as hell. RB is trash, knows nothing about basketball.
@@davidng8870The Warriors were not "too stacked." It's not like they had top-tier talent out the ass. They were the protypical championship team: star power, depth, defense, chemistry, good coaching, etc. Steph was the ONLY SUPERSTAR on the team with Klay and Draymond as co-stars. Their play style on both ends just made them such an incredible force.
Hot take: Brooklyn FO ruined their Big 3 era. If they just let Kyrie play 1/2 the season instead of benching him, the Nets could've rotated Kyrie, KD and Harden and the latter 2 would've been a lot fresher come the playoffs. Kyrie was cleared to play in all games for the post season too, so they could've had rest and chemistry. But Joe Tsai and the FO fumbled their opportunity because making a point to Kyrie was more important to them than winning.
@phanieldawit5720 🤷 The topic has been debated to death already, I don't believe there's anything either of us could say to convince the other that they're wrong so if you want to just say agree to disagree and leave it there that's fine with me.
The KD disrespect has gotten ridiculous, y’all literally find any excuse to constantly have something negative to say about dude and it’s ridiculous, it’s like y’all gonna use this GS shit to bash him forever and it’s fucking wack
As a Suns fan, this is new to me. 😅 Who the hell was acting like the Suns were a super team because Durant went there? NOT A SOUL acted like Ayton was good before Durant got there, yet somehow he's part of a trio that people said was OP?? 😂😂 If anything, it shows that you should NOT conflate realistic thoughts with what bots say online..
This video ain't it. Winning a championship means everything, but it isn't everything. As time goes on, no one will care that he joined the Golden State Warriors. He has solidified himself as the best scorer of this era and has two finals MVPs to show for it. He makes the playoffs unanimously each year, no matter who you put around him. All NBA teams. All stars. Anything else he does in the game of basketball is just the icing on the cake.

It's got nothing to do with basketball gods and everything to do with bad career decision-making. He's the one that chose to leave a perfect situation and team up with a wildly unreliable player in an unreliable franchise. And I supported Kyrie for his vaccine protest, but it's completely undeniable that he hurt the team that year, not to mention the year before when he just ghosted on the team for a few weeks. That team was a MESS and it was primarily because the players thought they could run the show and not listen to anybody else, and KD cosigned that mentality 100%. Demanding out of Brooklyn was the only time I have ever defended Harden for his shenanigans, because at least that trade request made sense given how utterly unreliable Kyrie was at the time and the abject lack of leadership that squad had. I think that the best player on the team has a responsibility to LEAD men, not just ball and KD has refused to carry that torch at every team he has been at, and that has directly led him to his situation now. That has nothing to do with luck and chance, and everything to do with personal responsibility imo.
So ur blaming him for his teammates getting injured and calling him a bad leader is a coping mechanism to disregard his teammates play and blame him for it that’s all u got from tbisb
U cannot get mad at another pro basketball player for not baby sitting another pro basketball player if they don’t perform that’s on them and have u herd of something called a coach that’s his job to lead the team not kds
And kd don’t put himself in bad spots his team is just always hurt when he needs them that’s just bad luck u just tryna blame bro for stuff he cannot control
It's not that KD is hated by the BBall Gods, it's that the NBA hype machine lies to you. Is KD a great player? Sure. Is everyone else he's teamed up with as good as the sports-bloviator complex would wish you believe? No.
kd’s my favorite player and been my favorite player 4 a long time and bro his time w the nets was so frustrating and disappointing as a fan 🤦🏽♀️ I’m glad he came 2 the suns and never ever thought my favorite player would play 4 the suns or any big name free agent honestly but I do wish he won rings in brooklyn
THe thing about KD is hes not just accustomed to handling a lot of pressure..He'll dominate games but when the game / series is on the line he just shrinks.. The most success he had was when he's playing alongside steph and klay providing so much space for him.. especially steph.. people would rather double steph and leave KD wide open.. If you look at KD's career aside from his couple of years in GSW.. all of it where him choking or melting under pressure...

KD is a top 5 all time talent, with only a top 20 legacy as a result of his career choices. Better than where it would’ve been if he hadn’t gone to Golden State, most likely, but it’s always gonna feel like KD “left something on the table.”

Even The God's know he's Kevin Durant.
7:21 "Till the powers that be decided... They'd seen enough" 😂
Or even a player that was MAYBE 1/4 as good as KD (Harrison Barnes)
Disagree that Kawhi's ring was worth more. He joined an already strong team, 'led' them to 2 fewer season wins than the prior year, was out a lot in the RS (played just 60 games) and the Raptors had a better w/l record with him off the court than on.
Then it took a well contested miracle shot bouncing around the rim four times to drop to get past Philly.
I don't put much weight in Kawhi 2nd ring since GSW lost players that series. But the Spurs ring counts more than both KDs rings.
@@phillipschuman4307 try harder trolll

KD is a top 20 player of all time. Well respected.

I’m a kd fan that nigga got 0 rings
IMO you are complicating something that is very simple. That Warriors team was too stacked, hence people do not respect the rings. We want to see him do it outside of that situation, and he has failed, despite playing with a lot of talent. It has nothing to do with not being able to replicate perfection, other than that if you cannot win outside of a perfect situation, that goes to your greatness

@@davidng8870The Warriors were not "too stacked." It's not like they had top-tier talent out the ass.
Kyrie decided winning a championship wasn't that important to him with his antics.

The basketball gods saw KD joining the warriors and decided he needed to be punished
Blah blah blah u said a whole bunch of nothing

So ur blaming him for his teammates getting injured and calling him a bad leader is a coping mechanism to disregard his teammates play and blame him for it that’s all u got from tbisb
