Thank you for sharing your information! I'll be traveling next year in a "solo" trip and I'm afraid since it will be my first solo trip and my first time in Europe. Anyway , I'm sure that your hacks will help me a lot. Good vibes from Costa Rica 😃.
Happy to help Jafeth! I’m pumped for you to experience Europe for the 1st time. And for your first solo trip!!! Congrats. Europe is amazing. And let me know if you have more question. I will help anyway I can.
Awesome content. Took lots of notes and many screen shots (YOUR captions are great). 66 here looking at taking my special needs (high functioning) 22 year old son in 2024 “on the cheep”. You’re a tremendous help letting us know this is do able. SUBSCRIBED 😉
my life long dream is to be a travel junkie but the thing is my family does have a lot of money to spend on traveling so when i grow up a start to do jobs for money i will save enough for a cheap solo trip across europe
just use flexibus if you dont care about your own life. the drivers work so many hours they simply crash the bus it just happen one more time. and it's the same reason why sleeping bus is ban in eu so dont use a bus in eu unless you fell like risking your own life
So I’ve never had a problem with flexibus. And I know the EU has super strict laws about how long bus drivers are allowed to drive (9 hours a day, then they have to have an 11 hour break). I’m sorry you’ve felt in danger in flixbus. Personally I’ve taken then all across Europe and haven’t felt unsafe once. They always switch out drivers within the correct time. Are generally on time. And over the last couple years have gotten newer buses.
I'm hoping do a 12 month trip all across mainland europe mostly by foot , i have nothing but time an time well spent will be me & freedom an away from routine . I have a limited budget with a reserv to get me back home when then budget is close to gone . Im shitting it one sence & will learn more about myself in this year of out my confort zone than 33 living init . Safety isn't anywhere on Earth its an illusion , planet as had mass extinctions . See it with that logic and the worlds less scary to travel as never know when times up
Thanks for your comment. But I’m talking about the how to travel Europe cheap and focusing on the big tourist destinations and cities. Of course you can rent a car and camp. But with the price of the rental, insurance, paying for parking in cities, and the extreme high price of gas in Europe right now it is definitely not the cheapest option.
Thanks so much for the great compliment! I’m glad you found the videos helpful! And there are more on the way! And thanks for the channel love :). Welcome to the community
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. And excited to hear about your upcoming adventures! To answer your question. I have a video on packing for Europe. ua-cam.com/video/syVGAtcWZYU/v-deo.html
Not only for young people! Some have age limits. But most don’t. But some are rather rowdy especially party hostels. So if you want something quieter you should read some reviews to make sure.
Yep those tips will work in Serbia as well. I do believe they are doing a lot of work on the train lines in Serbia. So you might have to sub some trains for buses.
Hello im going to Europe starting in irland then off to other places anways going next winter going for 3 to 4 months by myself if i stay in hostels eat out once in awhile and party abit lol wouod 10 to 15 thousand be enuff
I audited your channel and found some problems. Your channel is not SEO'd, there is no description in the video. They help a video stand out from the crowd. This is the problem with your channel. ❤
Thanks for the comment! It depends on the tour guide, length of tour, etc. Usually somewhere between 5 - 20 Euros. If the tour was just okay.... then 5 is enough. Usually I settle on 10 Euros. But 15 - 20 if it was amazing.
Thanks for the very informative video. I am planning an Eastern Europe trip starting in Athens and travelling through to Poland and Baltic states. As I am 76, I qualify for seniors discounts on the trains. Let’s see what happens. 👍👍⭐️⭐️ from 🇦🇺

Do you still have to print ryanair boarding pass? Cant they read it on your mobile?
I agree with researching where you plan on going and setting a bare bones budget for your time and travel. I always do, and then I double that best case cheap scenario amount of money. It's usually spot on and accounts for hidden fees, and expensive inconveniences. I would add that there is always a cheaper way, but I won't mention them because you end up paying with your safety, so I recommend following his tips. Safety is sexy, great video.
Yea. It’s smart to always carry some Euros as emergency cash. And some countries like Germany are still mostly cashed based. Exchange places in airports on the streets are a rip off. Even if they say “no exchange fee”. They are giving you a crappy exchange rate. And pocketing the difference. Banks are the best place to exchange currencies. And give you the best exchange rate. I’m not sure if you can do this before leaving the US (if a US bank would have Euros on hand). But you can easily do it in Europe.
I followed the advice to open a Charles Schwab account and use their debit card at ATMs for cash at the best exchange rate and NO ATM FEES (refunded monthly). Very pleased with their customer service agents and never disappointed.
Many people say budget airlines in Europe have many rules but actually there are just 2. Print out the boarding pass (or have it in their app) and observe the dimensions your carry on bag needs to have to not be charge when exceeding it. Ok, plus register your personal data (passport nr, name, surname) correctly, do not make mistakes. You will get a seat in the plane for advertized price. If you want to add bags, food, water, choose another seat etc. that all will cost you. Of course for first time user Ryanair homepage can be overwhelming with it asking to pay for 100s of thingsyou do not need
November through March is known as off season in Europe. This is when there are less tourist running around (minus some places that get busy during Christmas). Prices are a little cheaper. Lines are a lot smaller. But the weather isn’t the best. Hope that helped :)
This video was extremely helpful. Could you please throw some light on how do we keep our luggage safe when staying in a hostel? Like especially when there could be other travellers sharing the same room with you , what do we do? Also where cn we keep our passport safely?
Glad you liked the video! And thanks for watching. So to answer your questions. Most hostels have lockers beside or under your bed (you need your own pad lock in most cases). You can lock your gear up. Your passport as well. When traveling to keep your passport safe you could get a passport belt or wallet. I think the best tip is to always keep your passport in the same place ( same pocket of your backpack for example). And pay closer attention whoever you keep it. I’ve literally spent years traveling. And have never had a passport issue. But On the other hand I have known people who have.

Hi thanks for the great info! My partner and I are travelling almost 3 months in Europe next year. Would it be a cheaper option to hire a budget rental car being x 2 persons and also the flexibility. Had looked at a small camper but they aren't cheap or maybe you know some good options? We are in our 50's Any help much appreciated we are on a tight budget 😊 Cheers Lisa NZ
Hey!! A kiwi :). I love NZ. I lived in Queenstown for a year. So that is a good option. And lots of potential for adventure. As far as cheaper…..idk. There is a few things to keep in mind. Insurance, parking and gas. Gas is normally expensive in Europe. But right now because of Russia/Ukraine it is crazy expensive. So for 3 months I could almost guarantee that a Eurail pass is going to be cheaper. I racking my brain trying to remember how insurance works for car rentals in Europe. (It has been a couple years.) I’m pretty sure your covered throughout the EU. But double check that. Some countries are super strict with their insurance policies. Oh and make sure you have an international driver license. Most places won’t rent a car to you without it. And parking in the bigger cities can be hard. And will end up costing you money. Even in some smaller cities. That’s another expense to keep in mind. Hope that helped.
Thanks for sharing. This video is very informative. I and my spouse are planning to travel to Europe for the first time for a month. And we want to travel at least 10 countries. Our budget is very limited. We wanna start from Frankfurt. We wanna travel by Eurail. Could you tell me how can I make a good travel plan?
Hey Arif! Thanks for the awesome comment. I’m pumped for your first trip! And you’re in luck! My next video (coming out Saturday) is a deep dive into Eurail. So it will have tons of helpful info for you. For Eurail Frankfurt is also a great place to start. Because a lot of high speed trains go through. And you have great options in every direction. I will say… 10 countries in 30 days in ambitious. I would consider cutting it down a lot. When you factor in trains every other day and, dragging luggage from hotel to hotel. It would be insanely exhausting. My honest opinion would be not to do more than 3 countries in a month. Every country in Europe has many cool things to see. And I’ve gotten a few comments now about how to make a good travel plan for Europe! So maybe I’ll make a video on that in the next month. I have a couple I need to finish before I get to it.
@@gingeronthego Thanks Ginger. Yes, I do think so, 10 countries in a month is too much. If I make 5 countries like Germany, Switzerland & France, what do you think should I buy Eurail Global Pass or one city to another city?
We are a family of 7 (3 kids 7yrs and under) planing on going to London, Paris, Venice, Florence, Rome and Barcelona for 16 days. What would you do if you were me to save the most ? Going in March
Do the guides live off the tour price of 50 to 100 Euros, for 10 to 20 people in a group, for 60 to 90 minutes (and are sometimes confused, or have less information that their tourists)..or do they "live off the tips" ... I always tip for professional services, but not poor tours

thank you for the info. Another tip is to see if there is a discount on the railway.
Good point about coachsurfing. Shame about price, but guess it has to host website....
Thank you very much. these information will help a lot in my upcoming trip :) love from Kerala, india

Trains and busses not the only options. Car/camping and stealth camper bring time flexibility and exposure to people/culture/food.

Did you find one? I was going to ask the same question.
I would say TrainPal. You can track your train tickets (buy train cards to get cheaper) and view your expenses at galance:))

Yes! You can get them via the app or email and don’t need to print them anymore. At least from my experiences.
From what I understand every airport is different. There are some smaller airports that might not have it and boom....huge fees. Not worth it.
You remind me of Adam Sandler - ginger version 👍😄

how much should i tip the free tour giude?
It depends on how you like the tour and how many hours it is. I would say the normal is anywhere from $10 - $30.
How much should you tip the guide?
Depends on the length of the tour. How good they were. I’d say $10 an hour is a good starting point.
