Winter Wrap Up in MS-DOS QBASIC
Вставка

- This one is for all you fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. From the episode by the same name (episode 1-11), Winter Wrap Up is about a literal clearing up of the wintertime and preparing Ponyville for spring, which must be done in one day every year. The song itself starts at 0:40.
I decided it was about time to make another MS-DOS remix, this time of a My Little Pony: FIM song. There was a fair bit of kludging to make things work, and a lot of spamming the PLAY command, but I think it came out well. When finished, I compiled it and wrote it to a boot floppy.
Download 16-bit EXE or view the source code on GitHub (WNTRWRAP):

The amount of talent in this fandom is staggering!
This has been actually one of the songs I did not like from what I've listened to oddly enough, but that's just my opinion. The ol' DOS sounds are so fun to hear and it does make this song enjoyable with it. I would not even begin to understand how you did this, but I can tell you spent some time on it I would think, good job! :3
dude, you are my hero. Combining my current 2 favorite things: MLP:FIM and computers. imma need Pinkie Pie and her six hooves to give this thing an appropriate hooves-up rating.
The chorus makes an amazing ringtone.
Very well said. It's not like he's been forced to watch this, let alone like it. Just accept that the world doesn't revolve around you, and there will be things that aren't quite your taste. 'Friendship Is Magic' IS a good show. It's the silver lightning among the gray scale of this generation's cartoons. But that still doesn't mean everyone will enjoy it. If he is curious enough, he'd find out whether he likes a show or not. If not, then it's no big deal. But don't flame about it.
You have so much skill and so much win.
Holy Nostalgia, Batman! It's been YEARS since I worked in qbasic. :)
AWW YEAHH i've been subbed to you for a while, and suddenly, BAM! PONIES!!
you,sir, are awesome.
my mind was just blown. great work!
That old computer boot up is so nostalgic!
This is the best thing I've seen on all of UA-cam.
I love it SO much! Congratulations :D
This is awesome
That was awesome, you should make more like this!
How wonderful~
i remember this, so i just had to go and find it again. it's so amazing. :o
REALLY awesome!!
Haha, I remember you from my brief foray into the Mario Paint community, and here I run into you again on a completely unrelated note.
Very cool!
Your April Fools video description says "No, I am not a brony". YOU LIED! PRINCESS CELESTIA WILL NOT BE PLEASED!
Also, well done! Beepy sounds of catch songs is always a good thing.
Brilliancy at it'd fineist!
Oh boy, I remember watching this a long time ago, lol.
I sang along to this in my head.
I can see this as an ending screen when pinkie defeats discord and gets the keys of harmony back to help her friends escape their cells
If I worked in a office, I would want the chorus part to be my ringtone
I LOVE IT!!!!
AWSOME!
Its good to check your Video Digest once in a time...
That's cool! I love how the lyrics appear as the 8-bit song plays. I wonder what it would sound like on a NES...?
This just makes you realize how different MLP would br without the tech we have today.
Fantastic! Great! Brilliant! Amazing! [missing words] ....!
Oh my goodness; I've loved your videos for years and you're a brony! Yes! Brohoof! /)
My nerdy mind has never been blown this hard.
rofl! This is so old-school I think I feel my hair growing back!
You win all my internets.
so epic...
This blows my mind. :D
It's also funny that a lot of programs still use an icon of it as a save icon lol
awesome
omg, youre a brony now?!?!?! gah, i love you even more
I'd put some polimorfing code, self-replication code that work with the diskettes MBR, and then I'd travel in time to 1987 and distribute this as a virus. Soon all the computers in the world would be playing this song! The Winter Wrap Up virus would be epic.
Oh, this is pretty coo- SWEET CELESTIA MY BUCKING EARS!
i remember when i used to play around with dos on an old TANDY
Hah, this is fun to listen to.
wow perfect :D
Ponies are taking over. Cat. Gabe Newell. Notch. A lot of others. I love this community.
That is so boss
i teared up and stuff *sniffsniff*
Awesome! /)
I was entertained. :)
Welcome to the herd cat :D
I was looking for your Pokemon BW trainer battle theme on piano and I found this. Aww man, you've joined the dark side :(
Beep boop son, beep boop.
Welcome to the herd.
@Ryadin91 If that was a typo, that was the funniest damn typo I've ever seen.
i am fine with that
Literally got 10,000 people outta the fandom.
and luck you'll do smile, smile, smile?
Cat333 is a brony?
Woo.
Very kewl work. Btw, did you print that label on a dot matrix printer? >.>
i wish i had a floppy drive
The smallest gain there was.
The chorus sounds like one of those office phones ringing.
Did anyone else notice this?
Pegasister. That's a first. XD
I love this! Is there any chance we can get a 32 or 64 bit EXE?
This is amazing.... I wish I had the ability to do something like this for the community. But I must warn you. You will be receiving many requests for other songs, and hundreds of comments from haters and lovers alike, possibly arguments. Brace yourself. And help yourself to cupcakes.
wow im not a DOS fan but this is great. everything was right..pitch and all. how did you do this??
Quite frankly, I think calling anything 'cancer' of the internet is like complaining that there's poop in the toilet bowl, but I won't go down that argument road. To each his own I suppose.
Awesome work!
Just in case you don't know RainbowCrash88 does 8-bit remix i recommend you check that out if you didn't yet.
Again, nice work.
How would you make your own floppy?
Also, theres no point me trying this, as my computer doesnt have a speaker :/
Just booted this from a DOS disk on my old K6-2, then entered super nerd mode... :D
Yapping and whining? Only after you piss off. And indeed, it is my video - and the video of anyone who's ever tried to create something. There are enough trolls in the world; I stand in support of anyone who creates, and in contempt of anyone who can find nothing better to do than pretend to.
Energy Star Certified Brony.
I know that, but I want to know what "On Ms-DOS" means when it applies to musical creations, cuz it just sounds like 8-bit.
i sang along :p
Sorry Derp; I have real life things to deal with now. Bye! I enjoyed our conversation.
This was featured on My Little Brony
what program this, or better yet, did you make it yoursef?!
Haters ARE pretty damn fun to screw with. XD
Ugh, and here I thought you went away. Shoo.
Awesome ! Brohoof /]
why you should never throw away a floppy disk
I ran it and its very laggy and instead of beeps boops i get those 8 bit drum sounds
ok i tryed to install msdos on my pc and i failed ...
Are you starting it directly from the floppy disk, or do you have msdos on the pc?
(i dont have a floppy disk device)
Would you consider uploading the QBASIC source code for this? I'm rather interested, and I'm trying to make my own program like this for a few other songs, but having a bit of reference would be nice.
I know I'm responding 10 years later, but I've added a link to the source code on GitHub.
Funnt thing is that alot of people don't know what that disc is.
What is "On MS-DOS"? Isnt it just the 8-bit version?
How do i get this to work on my pc?im using windows 7
How to save on the disc?
BTW... i dunno when i subscribed to u but i think it was when u were firends with jubilife tv, is that u?
Send it to EquestriaDaily!
press and hold: enter
I need it on 32-bit.
Please, anon!
Maybe try DOSbox?
Good old PLAY command. Unless you were using SOUND, in which case, you're insane. In a good way.
I have a PC speaker recording setup, if you don't mind I could make a proper recording of this.
Why would I be mad...?
i'd pay 1000 bits for something like this... xD
Windows tutorial: Download DOSBox (find in google), download WNTRWRAP.EXE and put on C: drive (or any drive you want). Open DOSBox,type (without ' symbol)
'mount c c:\' , then type
'c:' and then
'WNTRWRAP.EXE' and it will work perfectly :)
on the "winter wrap up part" it sounds like a phone
Could we maybe get a source...please?
i keep throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
