But do you see how those that were actually Yorubas did so poorly compared to the others like the young lad from LASU?- he fooled me. Also the lady in white dress with the black gele, Arike, who would have thought she was not even Yoruba? Not that any of them did exceptionally well, but the non Yorubas did way better than my people. So sad😢. Do you know most Spanish people have their kids speaking Spanish first before they learn English in school? It is beautiful to be able to speak with a friend or family in public without the person next to you listening in on your conversation sometimes. Also losing our language is throwing out a critical part of our identity. We can’t even speak grammatically correct English. Why? Because we have lost our first foundation for Language- our mother tongue. Sad. Why do you think people like Peter Fatomilola, Kola Oyewo, Akin Lewis, etc speak English so very well? Because they also speak Yoruba very well. Think my people. Let’s not make mockery of our culture and identity. Learn to speak Yoruba. Ile ni a nwo ki a to s’omo L’oruko.
