PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE LOAF small loaf pans amzn.to/3JF0byf (as close as I can find)
3.5 cups sugar
1.25 c. oil
3 eggs
1 (29 oz.) can solid pumpkin
3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled (I only had 1 square and it worked fine)
1.5 t. vanilla
3.75 c. flour
1.5 t. salt
1.5 t. baking powder
1.25 t. baking soda
1.25 t. cinnamon
1 t. ground cloves
.5 t. nutmeg
2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Mix together all wet ingredients. Stir together all dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix just until blended. Stir in chips. Transfer to 3 9x5x3 inch greased loaf pans. I made 8 smaller loaves. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-65 minutes depending on size of pan. Bake long enough so the bread does not sink in the middle. Allow to cool in pan for at least 10 minutes before removing to cool. These will freeze well for up to 6 months. Very moist and tender.
SHORTBREAD PUMPKIN PIE
2 c. flour
.5 c. sugar
1 c. butter (2 sticks), almost melted
Combine and press into 9x13 glass Pyrex baking dish.
1 (29 oz.) can solid pumpkin
1 c. sugar
24 oz. evaporated milk
4 large eggs
1 t. salt
1 t. ginger
1 t. cinnamon
1 pinch nutmeg
Combine very well the filling ingredients (add cloves for a spicier pie if you like) and pour over unbaked crust. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes, then 325 degrees for another 40-50 minutes or until pumpkin pie is set and knife comes out of center clean. Allow to cool before cutting and serving. This was so good and thicker than a regular pumpkin pie.

Peter reminds me of how my husband must have been at his age. He tells me he was always out hunting and catching animals ever since he was little. He loved bringing home meat for the table! And he still does.
Before I went on a trip I have been doing the same thing like looking at my pantry and get pantry items so when I got back I could quickly make something and I already had made food in my freezer so I could take it out and not have to go to the store right away, it was very helpful! Thanks for sharing this I enjoy watching all you're videos thanks and have a wonderful evening and take care!

I totally understand the excitement of exploring the Airbnb or VRBO. We felt the same excitement and curiosity when we stayed at a huge Mid Century Modern house in Eau Claire last year for a wedding. I think we would have enjoyed a lake house even better but it was so nice for our needs.
Unfortunate situation with the lack of cleanliness, but even when we go to a pristine cabin or house, I always wash all the plates, utensils and pots and pans before I use them. Makes me feel better about using the dishes, etc.
Those meatballs and gravy looked delicious. Did you record when you made that recipe? Which video is it in?

What a fun trip (minus the dirty house)! Great thinking about shopping your pantry first! We do that before camping, always. It’s also nice to have the comfort of your own food, away from home! So sweet, you and Maria cooking together! Everything looked absolutely delicious!

Wow! Beautiful place! We stayed in a motel room one time and it was so gross! There was blood smeared into the carpet and hair stuck to the bathroom tile! We insisted on changing rooms but never again! I bring my own sheets now when we have to stay somewhere!
I won a chocolate baking contest with an original recipe for a chocolate, pumpkin cake. It had a cheesecake for the center layer, of the three layer cake. Love your video today!

I recommend A Cup of Cold Water: The Compassion of Nurse Edith Cavell by Christine Farenhorst as a WWI book for young readers. Edith Cavell was an amazing woman, a nurse stationed in Belgium during WWI, who chose to rescue Allied soldiers despite the danger to herself. Great story!

How is the book? I grew up with little house on the prairie … im 55 and still love it. My mom made me a sun bonnet and quilt . The bicentennial made the pioneer stuff popular and I loved it.the calico skirts I think she might have even made them.

You would think hearing the directions would be easier than looking at a map; I think the GPS gives too many needless directions like "stay straight on Hwy F" Yes, I know, I will stay on this road until you tell me to turn off of it. It just clutters my brain.

I'm making beef and noodles for dinner tonight and I only use the amish noodles! We love them.. I also use them for chicken and noodles and chicken and noodle soup... the thin ones are also great!!

Hello Oshkosh is my hometown that is a nice museum very interesting kids love it! I love the way you let your kids help you in the kitchen my mom did but once we learned them she would just leave instead of using it as a bonding tool. If you haven’t had the chance to yet go to the children’s museum in Appleton lots of interactive stuff there too for kids my nephews wife used to take her kids there a lot when they were little
Great video and bread looked awesome. When we go on trips and have a kitchen we order from store and have delivered to place about hour after we get there. Have fun be safe.

I was so glad to see you use my favorite kitchen tool, the tiny rubber spatula! I use it to make every meal: to get every bit out of a bowl, as a spreader, to transfer diced veggies to a pan and to mix ingredients.

The chocolate chips at Aldi’s now or only 12 ounce bags and not a full pound I have those same mini loaf pans. I love mine when I use them all the time. Love your channel and I definitely love pumpkin.

I love how real and kind you are! I've rented and had things not as clean as expected, although yours sounds even worse - sorry, you planned everything so nicely. It was kind of you to include Sam's girlfriend and it's hard to know how those dynamics will work as our kids gets older (mine are 12 and 14, so not there, yet), but your family seems so close and your kids so kind and respectful that whatever decisions you are making, are obviously the right ones. Just thinking of your family as I was going through really old cookbooks, Cranberry Pumpkin Cake, it sounds like something your family would enjoy, pumpkin and cranberries, so I come to the cranberry channel as I call it and what are you making all things pumpkin. You shouldn't have to go to a rental and do what you did, but that really is a health issue, sounds like no one cleaned between renters, must have been very disappointing seeing the way you keep your place, bet it was ready for the next renter when you all left.
Cranberry and Pumpkin is so good together. I make a cranberry pumpkin bread which we all really like. It took some time to get the kitchen cleaned to a level I was comfortable with, but I had to do it because the cabin was in the middle of no where; there wasn't another option.
Maria is beautiful. She might be little but she is tough. I have a crazy question. Did I miss your Christmas videos or did you only have a couple?
Liked the video but, yikes! You’re on an icy road and kiddos are not wearing seat belts? In Wisconsin , do you not have to use seatbelts in back seats? I know that’s true for NY. Just wondering. Glad you enjoyed the trip and made it home safely.

I cannot afford Hello fresh,it seems so expensive to just get ingredients tnat you still nave to prep and cook,if it works for people thats great but the average people cannot afford these.I do not know of anyone who utilizes these subscription meals That said I enjoyed as always rest of your video.
The best is to subscribe when there is a great deal. You can always cancel after a box or 2 if it just isn't for you. I like that we are trying new foods that I otherwise wouldn't buy and since I get just enough of the sauce ingredients for the one meal, I'm not wasting anything.
