Hotel Pere Marquette. .. beautiful 🤩. Caterpillar, Peoria Riverfront museum, Peoria Lake, East Peoria - Casino/Shopping -- Main Street... Washington, Morton, Perkin... Exploring!!
There is also the Heart of Illinois Fair in the summer. In the fall, there is the Pumpkin Festival in Morton. Tremont has a festival as well. There are probably more festivals in surrounding towns as well. There is also College Basketball. The Bradley Braves and Missouri Valley Conference Basketball.
Hoi fair is gag worthy at best. You clearly haven't gone in the last 50 years. Aside from the featured cloggers as the main attraction, the other extra curricular activity at the fair is playing "i spy"- the dregs of humanity version
Springdale Cemetery is possibly one of the best cemeteries in the world imo. Père-Lachaise is my all-time favorite but Springdale should be seen at least once by everyone. It’s over 100 acres of private mausoleums, hills, two bridges, a murder happened there in the 1930s and there’s a rumored area where witches meet up and do magic (Cole circle). By far my favorite thing in Peoria. Also, Grandview drive and the Peoria Heights tower are really cheap ($2 cash for tower) and beautiful things to visit. If you’re willing to cross over to EP, spindler marina has some really beautiful boardwalks and you can hike to a beach. EP also has the lookout point but it’s basically a lesser version of Grandview. Also, since you mention Wildlife Prairie Park, Jubilee State Park is five minutes from that and is free. It’s not super big but it has a really beautiful cemetery, picnic areas and you can look at the old Jubilee college. Back to Peoria though, the Bradley Park is really beautiful in the fall . It’s probably the safest park in Peoria as well. I think those are all the places I know of off the top of my mind. The surrounding areas like Morton (beautiful parks), Washington, eureka (both have pretty nice lakes, Washington has a nice square if you’re over there when it’s warm) and Pekin have a lot to offer too. You just have to be willing to go the extra mile and explore.
The only things to do is go to wildlife Prairie Park off of I74 Exit 82 turn toward Edwards Il Off of I74 then goes to Il Route 8 and Forrest Park Nature Center in Peoria Heights is pretty cool and its free and the wildlife and nature will come up to you. Also William Reid Park in Mapleton Il if you like nature walks camping and fishing have their own private lake which is part of Hollis Park District.
I love your videos and passion for Peoria. why do you think there are less restaurants on the riverfront? Less boaters or are there fewer boaters because of less restaurants and things to do on the river? Thanks
As someone who grew up here This video is all cap. Peoria wants to be a happening city but not. It’s a oversized Mayberry. Fortunately it’s not real far from Chicago or Indy so take my advice and go there to find things to do
There is absolutely nothing in actually do in Peoria Il everything is outside of peoria and we will no longer have the River man if they do not renew their contract…… peoria sucks as#been here most of my life it sucks here
I'll put it like this. If your middle aged, married with kids. Go ahead and move to Dunlap or north Peoria. If you're just graduating college, go ahead and accept a position somewhere else. There is not much for young professionals to enjoy.
There is plenty to do in Peoria. Just like every other mid-size city. People that say it is boring, or nothing to do are probably boring, lazy people themselves.
"6 things to do in Peoria.
Number one: go do something that is not in Peoria."
😂😂😂😂 wow. That was perfect

There's lots of music if you know where to look!
Blunts & Bibles!
Don't leave out Big Al's 😂😂
Hahah. I had to start dancing there, when the market slowed down.
Nice way to represent the city.
Thanks!
Is N University Street too noisy to live on?
Yeah, it is pretty busy too. I wouldn’t necessarily want a house on University.
