    When young and able by all means live far away and drive all you want. But as we grow older, driving becomes a chore, so does hiring and maintaining a driver....so living in a condo makes a lot of sense and convenience..but only in a major CBD.
    As you grow older it becomes a pain to drive each time you suddenly like to get a massage, watch a movie, go to a coffee shop, lounge in a hotel, just see what's in a convenience store, get an ice cream, grab a beer and listen to live music or a comedy act, just anything to enjoy yourself and beat loneliness of being alone.
    That to me is what condos can offer....but location, location, location is the most important thing to consider.
    Of course, if possible it's best to keep both a house and lot and a condo!😊 If possible 🎉

    One major flaw of condo or any subdv is its HOA and monthly fees, its like renting din ung cost... if you are starting in investing, this is not a good option,.,,. buy farm land or a house and lot that is not within subdv., ofcourse location is key... these are the things you need to consider.... maintenance cost,, should also be factored in your investment esp if you are not using it... also very competitive ang condo rental and ABNB ngyn...

    Condos today offer no benefits in the Philippines due to oversaturation, lack of open space, the 50-year rule, and the HOA not even owning the land.
    Your HOA doesn't do certifications nor disclosure on sinking fund reserves.
    Plus you have to pay additional for a parking spot.
    Unless there is a fantastic ocean view and not looking straight down on shacks with people living in poverty or easy walking diatance to MRT or LRT, run away. It's a fools paradise.
    Land in the Philippines, if you can get past the scammers, is possible.
    As long as the drive is short or Grab is easily accessible and cheap, then it's OK. Make sure it's 1,000 square meters or more.
    However, security is better with condos, though you live in a shoebox. A house has a space bit, but you will probably be robbed a few times.

    Di ako naniniwalang mas mataas ang siguridad ang condo kesa subdivision kasi meron condo na nagkaroon ng issue na meron pinatay o meron pinagtangkahan patayin, tsaka disadvantage ng condo ay pag nagkasunog o lindol ay mahirap tumakas at di mo maisasalba ang ibang gamit mo, di tulad sa house and lot na pwede mo ihagis sa labas ang mga mahalagang bagay para isalba, tsaka yung condo ay meron limit ang life span na pag umabot ng 50 years ay marupok na at di mo pwedeng baguhin, hindi tulad ng sariling lupat bahay na pwede mong itayo ulit o baguhin anytime.

    From a utilitarian POV - umupa ka na lang long term stay sa isang hotel kesa bumili ka ng Condo - wala ka maintenance cost - full service pa while you are in working years. And better buy retirement house sa province nalang.

    Condo has a constant cost plus condominium has depreciation. Yes they have better amenities which makes life easier. Pero condo is not advisable unless you are an end user.

    Condos are great investments for Airbnb rentals. I own 3 rental houses in the US (rented monthly) and 3 condos in Makati/MOA all rented on Airbnb.
    Condos are very expensive IF you buy right now, but if you already own a condo the daily Airbnb rents in Makati/MOA are pretty good and I get a very healthy NET cashflow and high ROI.

    hirap sa condo ang condo dues w/c is lifetime mo babayaran, ok lang ang condo basta strategic yong location pwede ipa rent or BnB etc., gusto ko sa province mag retire para marami akong maging outdoor activity pag tanda then yong condo ko is more on passive income nalang at pwede rin e benta in the future..

    Panget Condo, yung room lang ang sayo hindi ang lupa.. at pag nagka sunog, possible damay-damay na.. katulad nung sa London daming namatay. 😢

      Your condo unit is yours in perpetually. When it comes your disasters like fire, eartbquakes that is why you pay for insurance..

    Now I am confused. Condos for me is a no no. But I get the condo argument. However, long term, this is not ideal. Buildings tend to get old and the ‘condo bills’ can add up. House and lot maybe a good option for passing it on but the leave and go option of a condo is very interesting.

    With a condo, the property could be in a Foreignors name. With a house, the land is in Filipinas name and she can always create a fraudulent special power of attorney, get a copy of his passport, have it notarized, and sell the house from under the foreignor, take all the cash and run away.
    So which is the better option again?
