What bonus mode does is add a flashlight on your cursor when playing so that it's hard to see the whole level. I thought it would be pretty boring to replay every level with bonus mode, especially since you wouldn't even be able to see most the screen unless the mouse was moved around. Also, you need to beat all levels with bonus mode turned on to unlock the bonus levels, so if I wanted to make a TAS that completes the bonus levels, half of it would just be replaying levels.
