- Parliament's classic "Flash Light" was mastered about a quarter tone flat. In this version, we've pitch shifted it so that it matches standard A440 tuning. The Moog bass is a bit out of tune with the rest of the instruments, so if something still sounds peculiar, that's why.
I really appreciate this. Practicing with recordings that have great feel is a huge part of becoming a musician. This makes it possible to play along without retuning your instrument- or- the reason I landed here: to use the bass line as a teaching tool for chromatic intonation in 1/2 position on double bass while doing something that doesn't sound like a chromatic intonation exercise.
Classic from 1978! ❤️🔥
Why
It’s supposed to sound like the vinyl version
easier to play along with if you don't have a microtonal instrument
which pitch it was befor?
How about we gentrify a classic funk record and remove all the soul
Had no idea pitch was a class issue. Particularly when the band themselves played it live in A440.
Back Lives Matter!
Who give a crap? The original still sounds better. This sounds cold and robotic.
