A permanent compass display would be useful, maybe up at the top near the time of day, etc. Maybe its somewhere else…

That menu button on the steering wheel doesn’t work if you have a message on the screen.

How do you increase the brightness of the display panel.

It should be on the left side of the dashboard, there's a scroll wheel and it should adjust your screens brightness.

@@kazami2004 - Many thanks for this but I did manage to work it out because it was the same as on my old Volvo!! I thought it would be more hi tec with the large info screen. Thanks again.

I have never owned a car with a digital display so I was blinded by the actual lack of features my new XC90 offered. As I've driven the car, I really wish there was a way to display more car status items on the digital display. For instance, tire pressure, actual cruise control distance to the car in front of me, AWD status, Etc. I also feel that the Volvo's voice commands are some of the worst I've ever experienced. My wife's Kia does a better job. I"m not able to ask for a specific channel on the Sirius radio, and I've given up on controlling navigation with my voice. Overall, I really wish I would have chosen a different vehicle. How do you feel about your XC90 now you've had it for the past two years?

I love my XC90. I agree that the cash or the center console on the car isn't as advanced as the competition, but having pilot assist 2 really made driving a better experience for me. I've tested plenty of cars before purchasing the XC90, and none (except Tesla) at that time could replicate that driving experience.

First of all, the title. Pretty much ALL DID's or Driver Information Displays, from 2016 through 2019 ARE the same. Obviously, what is displayed depends on what buttons you push. Also, Apple Car Play has a dedicated tab ONLY when connected. Yes; the navigation sucks. However; have you familiarized yourself with all of the voice commands? Look; the concept is real simple; Safety. I don't "need" to know the tire pressure or outside temperature distracting me at 70mph! However, if the TPMS detects a low tire pressure condition, THEN I'll get a precautionary warning. The same goes for the Head Up Display. ONLY the pertinent information is displayed while driving. Simply put; They DON'T want a distracted driver!

You fail to show how you changed the rings.
