I honestly don't see why people are complaining, Sifu was Sloclap's Magnum Opus. It's only been two years since Sifu and they clearly want to do things other than fighting games. besides its definetely one of the more unique football games that I've seen. I can imagine that like Sifu, theres probably going to be crazy button combinations that gives you more control over your character than other football games matched with the physics aspect of the ball makes it seem as if the game was be highly skill based.
Man they made such wholesome games with absolver and sifu and instead of taking that knowledge, experience and time passed on refining those combat games into a new one that could've been an example for games alike for the genre they literally pull out a fifu. Disheartening news.

I thought that they would place themselves as the new Fromsoftware (Sifu-Style). I hope they didn't invested all their efforts into this, because that would mean Sifu 2 is even longer away. The studio is French and soccer is the most popular sport in Europe so I can understand the vision. However, they are going into unknown territory while they already have established themselves as the kickass martial arts Guys. That’s a very risky pivot

@FuryoTokkosho You are right with everything so far. But as i said: what if they become a moderate success on a indie level? Will they have to support the game all the time because it's their new money machine? What would that mean for martial arts games from Sloclap? Have a nice one.
@@WU-DAO If soccer game becomes successful they gonna have some extra money. Although not sure what you mean by support, i think the room for DLC is very small there. The big soccer games usually live from the fan hype around the living soccer players like football, baseball does too. Since the team is pretty small there is still room for growth, they might be able to support multiple projects if enough money comes in. Most studios reinvest a lot of the incoming margin.

Football is a bad idea, the established Games have too much previous experience. They could have combined it with Sifu, like doing Jiànzi (Chinese: 毽子) which is a traditional Chinese sport in which players aim to keep a heavily weighted shuttlecock in the air using their bodies apart from the hands.The primary origin of jianzi is an ancient Chinese game called Cuju, from the Han dynasty, 2,000 years ago. Its actually like chinese rugby kung fu if teams compete against each other
I feel like sifu 2 is not really a good idea... Here me out Because the story of Sifu end pretty well so it would feel very odd to have another one instead. I think that an similar fighting, beat em up game which is based on the world of sifu as in different main character, different location, different fighting style maybe Wing Chun. Basically the same world but different story.
I think selling kits, celebrations and other characters animations is fine. But shot animations can actually impact the game and be the difference between a good or a bad shot. And at this point its basically pay to win
I think they want to use the success from sifu to break into the online multiplayer live service market. I think Absolver was the pilot and they made a name for themselves with Sifu. The question is, will that be enough for the game to be well received ? And assuming Rematch does well, do they make the sequel we are all longing for or they keep going the live service route ?
So… rocket league but with actual players and not cars…?
