Love the announcements. Much more advanced than the Glasgow subway which I am also very interested in. This system reminds me of a tram, DLR and tube all rolled into one system
karton realista if it was in London everyone would appreciate the vintage look, in Newcastle it’s just poor apparently. I like it , wish we had a subway in Birmingham ..
@@gol.drodger5261 they should extend the tram network to have a second line underground, so they’ll be trams just like all the others in the city but the new line will have tunnels to avoid congestion. Birmingham is SOOO lucky to have teams though, the nearest trams to my town are London’s Croydon trams (London is about 1:30hrs by HS1 from here or 2:30hrs by slow line so it’s FAAAR and it’d be nice to get to my nearby city in less than 45 minutes without a car. My only three options are 1. Walk to train station (about 20 min walk), then take train (about 15 minutes), then wait, then take another train (about 15 minutes), then walk into the city (about 5 minutes) 2. Take the bus to train station (free due to my bus pass but still slow, bout 15 minutes), then do all steps above 3. Take the bus to local city (again free but takes around 45-60 minutes with no WiFi and rubbish scenery 4. Wait another 12 months until I’ve learned to drive and drive their in around 30 minutes and either use the £3.50 per day park and ride bus or £3.00 per HOUR parking in the city (the best out of a very bad bunch of options) This is why I believe a tram would suit my local area because it isn’t REALLY built up and therefore a metro/subway/DLR type thing wouldn’t work because there is a fair bit of countryside but at the same time the area is too built up to solely rely on crappy stagecoach regional busses and trains. Busses and trains work well where the towns are really far apart and metros work well where the area is a compact city with large suburbs but that spot in the middle trams and guided busways need the be used... although I don’t like guided busways, they are just fake trams

affectionately known throughout Tyne and Wear as the poverty waggon. Still using the same rolling stock they started with over 30 years ago.
Idk, it looks cool and vintage

@@gol.drodger5261 Yea for real Brum could do with a subway esp Nottingham and Manchester the fact they have to be on road kinda annoyin but cool
Rolling stock should last that long. It's be a waste of money if you had to replace it every 5-10 years

It looks like they accelerate faster than London underground trains. Seems to have full torque from the start.

It looks like the metro is going to south shields

Definately time for new trains ....glasgows new ones are really nice now.
All that's missing is the Get Carter theme!

Good video
Good system when it works, but totally unreliable due to the old trains
I hear they're planning to get new ones.
Trains that apparently won’t come into service until 2022
