I tried Dust one time in 1977 in East Palo Alto CA now Silicon Valley. It was a weird experience. So Blessed to come out of the trip, 6 hours later, as my normal self. Love Dolemite movies since the 70s.

Dolomite was the man you won't see movies like this anymore . I'm a 70's kid TV shows, cartoons, and movies, it was a good time I look at the world now and I can see that nothing from that time period is seen anymore.

The more & more I watch these Dolomite movies, I start seeing each 1 has a lesson beyond all the humor. Its almost Satire. This 1 shows how drugs fucked up our black community in the usa. Being this 1 was made in 1979, its like a warning of what was about to come in the 80's thanks to Reagans crack era...

Me and my uncle watched this movie 7 YEARS AGO and afterwards, I couldn't sleep and had a BAD nightmare especially those ridiculous drug references and monsters flashing during that movie.....lol....
This movie is such a 70s touchstone. It has everything. Making Dolemite funnier was a good idea.

PCP (angel dust) began in the 1950s when it was first synthesized by Michigan chemist Victor Maddox, after which it was marketed as an anesthetic pharmaceutical drug in the 1950s by Parke, Davis, and Company (now a subsidiary of Pfizer). Known as Sernyl at the time, it was eventually recommended for and later used in clinical trials on people in 1957. Afterward, PCP was used as a surgical anesthetic and eventually an animal tranquilizer in veterinary practice.
PCP was widely embraced when it was first introduced to the medical field because it acted as an effective anesthetic without negatively impacting the heart and lungs. However, as with many other drugs, the adverse side effects of PCP were soon discovered, including psychosis, anxiety, paranoia, and dysphoria. As a result, it was discontinued in 1965 for medical practice on people, and by 1967 it was restricted to veterinary practice. It was during this decade that PCP entered the streets as an addictive and popular recreational drug
This movie was brilliant!! I love Rudy's dance in the beginning, especially when the camera gets a close up of him shaking his bracelet!!!! I couldn't stop laughing, the acting is so terrible, but that's what makes this movie so entertaining.!!!!

I can't remember the last time I've 'rewound' clips so many times while enjoying a movie on UA-cam. This one is so fantastically campy, but great action and disco (and clothes). Now I wish a particular friend from the good old days was still around, so I could tell him I finally watched one of the Rudy Ray Moore films he was always so crazy about. On to watch Dolemite next!

This is the most poorly-acted, lowest-budget movies I've ever seen, but for some reason I continued to watch the entire film. I compare it to seeing a vehicle accident involving clown cars. It's serious, but hilarious simultaneously!!

Well said, it's so horrible it's funny!! The fight scene's had me doubled over in laughter! It's hard to believe that the director's and producers wasn't in tears of laughter when they did scenes.
His cinematography got better with each movie…writing stayed the same lol but definitely shot and edited better

This was the most absurd of all of Rudy's films, which is saying a lot, but i still enjoyed it and derived great laughter from it. Even my young son quoted lines from this. Little did i know said son would take Bucky's path... nothing could have ever prepared me for that. Life imitates art sometimes... now this has gone from hilarious to relatable....

My best friend and I used to try to out do each other with ridiculous movies in high school. I saw this had Action Super Action as the genre, the only one labeled like that in Blockbuster Video. I swear this movie scared us straight in a way, the insane ending felt like an Angel Dust trip to us.
I proceeded to rent it over and over until one day the guy behind the desk told me I could buy the tape off of them because I was the only person to ever rent it in the stores history. Still have it.
