Nanami as a villain would've been beyond badass. His cursed technique is also underrated. I feel like being able to make a weak point wherever you want on someone should've put him above Grade 1. I always found it odd that with a power like that, he wasn't Special Grade.
@@zanaijscott8850 I don't think so. I think special grade is specifically stated to be only sorcerers which would be strong enough to take down an entire country.
It’s so weird hearing about earlier plot points in the series mixed in with the beginning of the final version of the culling games together in one arc
Rather than mixed in, safe to assume the WHOLE SERIES was supposed to be written this way. After all, only the name sticks. Sorcery Fights, and if we assume JJK0 still took place the way it is, with minimal changes, having Yuta early, & Nanami a villain may even scale things up, ever since Hyakki Yaku O, much more than original early arcs is. Still, we wouldn't have good arcs such as Mahito's intro, Higuruma's, & Shibuya, hard to see how it all fits with this concept. CG's already bad enough, imagine all 200+ chapters of JJK being CGs. Gojo past can still happen is the only other good thing i could think of.
@@naufalmEZa honestly, if JJk was just the culling games i think it would be really great. the problem with the culling games is that it just feels kinda random. if we had, say, 100-130 chapters minimum of the Culling Games then i think it would be much better. would kinda have the same feel as fate/stay night or fate/zero at that point, which I think could work really well
In my head canon, I hereby proclaim this as an alternate universe - a parallel dimension or multiverse. A somewhat less depressing version of the events. Oh wait...
Im glad this version did not come to pass, its sounded very average. Still though Gege never had any intention of having training arcs or school setting etc given the interviews or fanbook but it was his editors pushing him to go the average shounen route in which he did for the early chapters lmao before completely doing a 180(shibuya) segueing to culling games doing what he wanted to do. Im glad we got Sukuna tho having a huge presence and identity early on and Yuuji being the protagonist instead. Im curious how he tried this to yuutas early conceptions as well
I disagree I think this version is way better then what we got as by framing the whole series in the from of the culling game's to begin with. this dose not mean early event's in the story we got don't happen but instead are reframing everything with the culling doesn't make it's conclusion seem last minute and rushed. It also allows the merger and other underdeveloped character introduced latter time to develop. moreover having curse sprit's include the element of position adds wight to there defat also changing megumi's and yuji relationship with sunkuna to be a mirror as now they are forced to kill to get piont's which make's the question are they any better then sukuna. more over keeping the sukuna on megumi mean's that he can have abetter relationship with sukuna before his full take over. In fact the dynamic write's it's self megumi is forced to act like sukuna more and more until he becomes him where as yuji is attempt to megumi away from dark make's what's happing now better if that was there entire relationship from the start. I also think in this draft the gojo sukuna fight likely happens at shibuya instead of mahgarga. which I think is better for the story as the death of gojo in the middle set's up the danger of latter culling game's. while also makeing the search for angle less about freeing gojo and more about away to stop sukuna. as with this frist draft it also make's me think that yuta and kenjoku came into the story at around the same time.
@@djt3332you just went on this whole tangent and wrote all these words to still be wrong and incoherent. Everything u just said is not better than the story we already have. Just stop it.
The culling game being more of a main focus in this draft really reminds me of the game The World Ends With You and how it mostly the characters in a game
Is it just me or is operator kinda forgeting the existence of the prequel series to jujutsu kaisen ,tokyo metropolitan jujutsu high aka now jujutsu kaisen 0 where yuta was the protaganist as it was created before the draft for jujutsu sousen cause through the video it kinda seems so but still appreciate the fact that your making a vid on this cause it seems like many people are overlooking this draft
Not really, he mentions how we are reintroduced to the jjk0 crew and how they’re recharacterized. This video is about the draft so there wasn’t any point to talk about 0
Part of the matter is that JJK 0 wasn’t initially supposed to be a prequel, but a prototype. Basically a proof of concept for what would become Jujutsu Sousen and then Jujutsu Kaisen. It only became a prequel later.
The concept was pretty intriguing. I’m happy gege didn’t go with it necessarily cause Yuji would actually have no real place in the story and megumi’s possession would feel too one note in Shonen. Yuji made the decision to swallow Sukuna’s finger so there’s a greater weight in everything Sukuna does being shouldered by Yuji since he effectively brought Sukuna back into the modern age. As opposed to megumi being marked and his cursed inherently taking him over. Plus it layers the world more by acknowledging that things like Sukuna existed and would have still existed with or without Yuji opposed to the cursed spirit inhabiting solely megumi
If Gege ever decided to do alternate timelines, drafts like these could be their own real storylines. This would be perfect, a never ending JJK franchise
Only after that idol manga though, Gege will probably need some rest from writing Shonen after JJK's ending. Not only that, but i want to see him develop more on the aspect of character interaction and the relationships between them on the idol manga he says he plans to do after JJK.
@@kirbyof590stars it’s a comic the culling game idea is gonna be the final phase of the comic while the power system is gonna be used for a different comic imma make
@@lain5858 I thought Yuji in this was boring; he was a pretty weak link in the story. I can see why Gege initially thought about killing him off if this was Yuji's conception. Megumi being Sukuna's vessel doesn't have much of a dynamic to it either I think. Idk... It's not for me.
@@lain5858 I'd say it's better because now he's forced into the world of JJK regardless if he wants to or not; Itadori's Grandpa message to "help people" translates into his rationalization of reducing less potential casualties by consuming the fingers so curses can't get to them and reek havoc. Compared to this timeline where he just is there as support for Megumi; Yuji was probably going to end up being Megumi's equivalent of Junpei to be quite honest.
Maybe a spin off with different characters/sets in years prior to Gojo's past. So many possibilities that didn't break the timeline. Though even Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School (JJK0) is pretty detached from JJK in it's own right, 16 special grades? Inumaki clans? Sugawara? So many concepts worth exploring. I assume this version's consistent with 0.
I honestly thought that a lot of early characters like Yuji didn’t really have any character development for dozens of chapters but this first draft actually fixes a lot of that problems that I had, which is why I fine it weird that so much of that possible development was dropped.
Yuji do work better as rival character, not that what we got is bad, the rate in which we're getting it is sickening. It's as if Gege actively sidelines him, and only give him proper spotlight with no one around to steal it, how convenient. Megumi on the other hand always forced in a situation he partake in his own volition, he's a walking "if it isn't the consequences of my existence" and outside of minor changes to his personality, most of it sticks to the released version. Though we've had that fair share of character with Yuta.
@@naufalmEZa Current in story yuji would be better as a side character because he is competing with like 4 other characters for the spotlight and yuji is arguable in last place in that race. Some People are still equating yuji fighting to his character development which isn’t really true but even in his best fight he didn’t even get to finish it personally. Megumi as a character is just getting drag around for the sake of the plot, he literally has one of the best back stories and powers in JJk but none of it got really got explored by him at least. His dad killed himself without Megumi knowing it was him, no real information on his mother, and his sister died right after being introduced by way of possession. This first draft literally fixes the sister part of the story weirdly enough. Yuta arguable the 5 MC in the story and his character development ran over the other two characters listed by miles even though he didn’t really need it.
i think this concept was also pretty interesting especially coming out of jjk 0, who really knows how it would've turned out but i think it makes the overall story seem more cohesive from the jump at least
Nanami was the mostsuprising for me. Although i could see him going under that path as a curse user. Also i really want to know how yuji would've gained powers ir maybe even stay a normal human and find other ways to fight
Well, i guess this clears up what went "wrong" with JJK then, with this hindsight Shibuya Incident was clearly just a way to transition the "new" story into the original culling games plot as quickly as possible, killing off all the major curses and the now redundant Nobara. Don't get me wrong, i find JJK now to still be enjoyable, but it's clear that the culling games and the way the characters within it were handled was out of place both narratively and thematically and it's nice to see why. I wonder if the characters who seemingly phased out of existence in-between the Pre-Shibuya and Sukuna fight (Todo, Miquel, etc...) did so because they either weren't intended to be introduced until their second appearance
Is Sukuna still the strongest in this draft? Gojo said that Megumi got the worst malediction but that could also mean he got the worst type of malediction, one that takes possession.
The curses being able to possess people would've been cool it would've made sukuna a lil more special because he would be the old human to figure it out without a technique
I watched this because I want to make my own manga. I must say, you do have a point with Yuji being nothing else than a inoccent person dragged into all of the problems. I was planning to do the same with one of my characters. Thanks for the advice.
Bro- Even the first draft is partially written like a slice of life~ I swear Gege just wants to write a slice of life but can't resist their urge to make their fans suffer... 😭
So there are obviously alot of clues here about how the story could end. Megumi turns evil. All I can think of is megumi fuses with the merge and that's how he gets his horn form. Like this chapter draft has me convinced sukuna will be defeated by hanahs Jacob ladder maximum output which she's never used and then megumi will be the bad guy I mean if the story is going 2 end in 2024 the most chapters we could get is 25 and that's if gege doesn't take any brakes and he pry will so there's pry only 20 chapters left idk how gege is going to end everything in that few of chapters. Its sad gege Is burnt out and is rushing the ending we didn't even get to see the hakrai uruami fight just cause gege is exhausted from the weekly shonen grid like I really wanted 2see that fight
“Would you make a manga that builds up the characters and makes then strong enough for the future arcs?” “Nah, I’d throw them into the culling games in chapter 1”
I hope if there is a different ending, I hope it will all just be a fantasy dream, but it still happens based on the characters' real world... meaning Yuji will have a not so harmonious family and Megumi have problems with dad
Ok this might be a hot take but the early draft kicks a lot more ass then the one we got for the main series, sure sekuna just randomly appearing would be to convenient but still this chapter just gives of hype
This honestly sounds like some crazy but extremely more interesting restart of devilman crybaby, it'd actually be really cool if gege had stuck to this ngl
If you notice something with the framing, the story in the draft seems way closer to the naruto story line it seems like he wrote a naruto if sasuke was the main protagonist That being said when you examin this the inspiration for bleach is seemingly absent from this first draft Why this is funny to me is. The changes that are made are seemingly done as an homage to bleach The cursed posessed people being changed in to cursed spirts. Yuji going from just a good willed person willing to help like naruto. To a personed who is pulled into a situation where he feel the responsabilty to protect as many as possible from said cursed spirits. The inclusion of cursed spirits being created through negative emotions.
I wonder if sukuna will become one of sukunas shigiami or something like that. Sukunas monster looking domain makes me wonder what he did with megumi 2 ,be able 2 make that domain.
Because he was forced to change his entire story to the point that culling games dont even made sense anymore. That's explain why he want to finish jjk soon as possible. He is tired of writting what he dont want

Also, Most curse spirts just got curse stomped to hard in there fights which made them feel overall less threatening.
The king of curses almost came with horns. We got the good timeline
Nanami as a villain would've been beyond badass. His cursed technique is also underrated. I feel like being able to make a weak point wherever you want on someone should've put him above Grade 1. I always found it odd that with a power like that, he wasn't Special Grade.
I don't think he will be strong as special grade but maybe he can be special grade one like member of zenin clan
@@mariansvoboda1575 special grade one and grade one are equal. The only difference is special grade ones are outside of the technical school system.

Oh wait...
Gege says he shouldve made the CG as a tournament arc, but I myself actually enjoyed the unpredictably of the CG we got as a story.🤔
This was such a treat to see.

I don't care what anyone says!!! I WILL use the malediction concept in my jjk fanfiction!!!
I’m prolly in the minority but i actually do like this concept more than the original.
You are not alone
It would make a cool spin-off of an alternate timeline.
Wow, the development from first draft to end product is mad
Saw this video and knew it was a banger immediately, you're getting me through the work day thank you brother.
Nah it’s gotta end rn it’s what’s separating manga from becoming Marvel / DC
????

I'm glad we got what we have, Megumi having horns was so cringy too. What we got was so much better imo.
he looked like Devilman lmao
I liked this draft more. The whole first season is so boring until the last mini arc
@@CoolOkay_
Its the same link in JJk. Yuji just want to help because of grampa
I would really like for gege to make this into an actual full story once jujutsu kaisen is finished.
JJK finished? You mean Jujutsu Shippuden?
Gege is currently working on a different manga. I doubt he'll do it.
@@nick25oo true true, my personal favorite is his clash with Higuruma, that's still by a longshot the best use of idealism clash tropes in JJK.
@@naufalmEZa I honestly forgot about that fight because Higuruma domain sorted ended it half way through but the first half was really great.
Idk why but Megumi with horns reminds me of one of Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid
i think this concept was also pretty interesting especially coming out of jjk 0, who really knows how it would've turned out but i think it makes the overall story seem more cohesive from the jump at least
this just goes to show how much gege has put into this story
Just the pure beginning as a reader of this story is better than the original jjk to me but I like the later flow of the original jjk
Damn Yuji and Megumi relationship is way better in this draft than in the entire of jjk
True Megumi and Yuji’s dynamic is very underdeveloped in JJK
Nanami was the mostsuprising for me. Although i could see him going under that path as a curse user. Also i really want to know how yuji would've gained powers ir maybe even stay a normal human and find other ways to fight
I like this version. Gege should release it for some fans
Happy we got JJK and not JJS.
Damn Nanami's original draft intro was FIRE!!

Its sad to see how Gege wasted Tsumiki in the final product
ok now who wins, the malediction or 1 finger sukuna 😭😭
Malediction solos 😂😂
Blessings of Aligator's abyss

Blessings = megumi
Aligator abyss= wanabuchi
I really want this to countinue
Is Sukuna still the strongest in this draft? Gojo said that Megumi got the worst malediction but that could also mean he got the worst type of malediction, one that takes possession.
The curses being able to possess people would've been cool it would've made sukuna a lil more special because he would be the old human to figure it out without a technique
Sukuna just hating Yuuji across all versions and timelines is pretty funny.
I would definitely love to visit the parallel world were these drafts were the actual version of jjk
This can be a nice OVA series like with AOT
I read the draft and came to a lot of the same conclusions but I like that you made a video about it and broke everything down really well.
i love when mangakas release their original drafts, its rlly cool so see how far the series went from the very beginning
I watched this because I want to make my own manga. I must say, you do have a point with Yuji being nothing else than a inoccent person dragged into all of the problems. I was planning to do the same with one of my characters. Thanks for the advice.
All this just confirms once again how awesome kenjaku is the GOAT
Always interesting seeing how things could have gone like this

Maledictions seems to be like a heavenly restriction but without the power boost of physicality or increased CE
Am I the only one that actually wants this series to be continued 😂
I would actually read this, if he made this into a spinoff after the series end I would pay for it

Waiting for JJK/PROTOTYPE 🔥🔥🔥
I hope if there is a different ending, I hope it will all just be a fantasy dream, but it still happens based on the characters' real world... meaning Yuji will have a not so harmonious family and Megumi have problems with dad
Ok this might be a hot take but the early draft kicks a lot more ass then the one we got for the main series, sure sekuna just randomly appearing would be to convenient but still this chapter just gives of hype

If you notice something with the framing, the story in the draft seems way closer to the naruto story line it seems like he wrote a naruto if sasuke was the main protagonist
That being said when you examin this the inspiration for bleach is seemingly absent from this first draft
Why this is funny to me is. The changes that are made are seemingly done as an homage to bleach
The cursed posessed people being changed in to cursed spirts. Yuji going from just a good willed person willing to help like naruto. To a personed who is pulled into a situation where he feel the responsabilty to protect as many as possible from said cursed spirits. The inclusion of cursed spirits being created through negative emotions.
where can I read it??
The earlier plot is more interesting not gonna lie
I wonder if sukuna will become one of sukunas shigiami or something like that. Sukunas monster looking domain makes me wonder what he did with megumi 2 ,be able 2 make that domain.
It's a shame Gege was developing the Culling Games for so long only for it to be a boring filler arc until the interesting things start happening.
Because he was forced to change his entire story to the point that culling games dont even made sense anymore.
That's explain why he want to finish jjk soon as possible. He is tired of writting what he dont want
