I love how the flingza can change from support to slayer on a dime just with a change of mindset. You can poke with vertical flick and missile spam and then decide "now it's time to shark and slay with horizontal flick" and it's almost equally effective. The true strength of Flingza is knowing when to play either.
"Did our guy just go for the checkpoint because he didn't realize we had it?" That's a quirk about Mahi - the first checkpoint message will never show up because of the water level message. It can really throw you off if you're not used to it.

The battle Jr goes hard BOOM Ultra Stamp is useful LMAO I used to play support in s2 and while I don't anymore, I gotta admit its way more fun than in 2. Nice video Luis & Chara!
just recently picked up mini splat and the main weapon feels fantastic, I’m very excited to play support (is “utility” a better name?) with zink kit in a few days
I can’t believe how kind to you the RNG is to you in a bunch of these clips. Especially with how many fights you took at near the junior’s max effective range.
Honestly if you REALLY think about it, tenta missiles are simply the best counter against eliters and chargers with this horrid map design. People just dislike because there's no risk involved when using it but plentiful reward.
I remember that at the Pokemon Splatfest a friend of mine recommended that I play as a Jr, since he saw my style of playing and thought I would play better with that weapon instead of an Aerospray. *I've been having a blast ever since.*
In my opinion support feels so good because of the kits like jr is from my understanding more about turfing than killing and with Splat Bombs you have a good damage option when the enemy is out of range but also a pressuring tool to make the enemy get closer to you.
Ya know what, I’m gonna say it: missiles are not a badly designed special, and I’m tired of pretending that they are. Their only problem lies in their spammability. All you need to do is increase points for special, and make it so you can’t start charging another missile until all of the previous missiles have landed (or after a set time limit like tacticooler), and boom, you have a balanced special
Cjr kit about to be even more fun than the current one, I haven’t been playing as much support as in Spl2 lately but with the new Jr I might have to pick it up again
I always play Flingza as a support/slayer hybrid. It's insanely fun to go shark mode and get multi-splats with it, but also satisfying to provide support. I always have fun with it. Its ability to let you adapt to your team and what they're doing is one reason it has become one of my favorite weapons.
96 is really fun in this game, I played a lot of it with a buddy in the Splatfest because I wanted a vac weapon in case of Tri-Colour and it's so dang satisfying
I LOVE playing the Jr. I've started changing my play style to a weird combination of support and assassin. It can only kill at close range, but it kills fast, moves fast, and with ninja squid, it's SUPER easy to get behind people and kill them. Also it inks like crazy and can hold positions, so I have a good time in turf and zones.
Chara, think you could make a video of tips on "Support Player Mindset"? I am aspiring to be a better support player for my team and while I think I'm starting to get the hang of it I obviously have a long way to go since I only just started comp Splatoon. I typically use Jr or Dapples depending on map/mode/comp if that helps at all. Thanks for the content btw! Your videos have helped me a lot!
Honestly you havent played support till you try dapple duelies with sub up and special charge up. Undying team and its a good stealth killer at times too
I picked up Jr. in this game after not playing in forever. It's been SO good for me - idk if it's just sub s-rank not knowing how to deal or what, but I've been very consistently top paint AND kills with a high win rate. I've been maining Splatana Stamper so maybe it's just that it slots better in rando comps, but it still feels so weird to out-frag a .52 gal. Just to be clear, I am aware that I'm not great at this game and I'm not bragging (because that would be silly at my rank), I'm more just commenting on how fun and good the weapon has been for me!
Jr. is actually a very popular meta weapon right now because it’s the only shooter with big bubbler. On top of that it’s paint is great and it has splat bomb, which is always a great sub weapon. The new kit that’s coming has torp and wave breaker, so if you want to play more aggressively, it will be the perfect kit for you!
Idk if you'll see this but honestly the vid title makes it sound like you're gonna be doing a discussion video talking abt the role, but instead it's just a kill compilation with support weapons (which isn't typically what support is gonna be doing majority of the)
After a long climb up to S Rank with the Splat Roller (and Hydra), when I got five stars on the Splat, I switched to Flingza and seemingly, much more easily sailed up into S+. It could be that support is more my playstyle, as I do like to hang back and paint...or missles. We'll never know~
In my personal opinion I think splat roller was done dirty by being given big bubbler. Since you already have tk be relatively close to the opponent and since they csn just walk into it they can splat you plus the start up time isn't anywhere as fast as splashdowns instant jump. Even then rollers are just countered super easily either by something have more range like a charger, splatling and some sloshers or they're just outmatched in terms of fire rate with everything else. It really makes the class feel kinda insignificant when other weapon classes can do mostly the same things but better. Flingza feels better than splat imo cuz you don't have to risk being in the front lines as much. Especially with this horrid map design. I think flingza moreso shows what a roller is capable of by providing support and being able to be a slayer when the time is right. Unlike te splat roller.
i think the tenta missiles def need a nerf but i really feel like they ultimately work on flingza since it takes a bit longer to charge up your special with it
3:37 hot take: Splat Zones is the worst ranked mode in this game because it leads to situations like this where teams sit on opposite sides of mid just painting the zone instead of actually having to push an objective
First really picked up flingza during the deserted island splat fest and I used throughout the whole thing. The weapon itself I love so much but missiles are not fun to use and ink mines are not my thing.
@ProChara, I'm a beginner, and this might be a stupid question, but, motion controls or stick controls?? After watching your video about roles, I also wantsd to try support and now I love both jr and '93 gal (is it called 93? I'm italian and it has a very different name so I'm not sure lol). I always played shooters and similar so it was easy to adapt, but I don't see myself playing something like dynamo roller anytime soon, but overall yeah, I love support weapons
Typically when I hear "support" I imagine painting heavy weapons.
