- Fans of the British royal family have been following Prince William and Kate Middleton’s love story since they first got together in college. Now, 20 years after they first started dating, and a decade after the pair got married in front of millions, William and Kate are still going strong and seem to be more in love than ever.
At least, that’s how it appears to the public. On their Instagram page and in official appearances, they look like literal #couplegoals. But what are they really like? Here’s what the cameras don't show us about William and Kate, straight from the person behind the camera.

How do you feel about William and Kate?
I like them. They are attractive and stylish. I'm not British nor a citizen of any Commonwealth nation but I'd rather see them as King and Duchess of Edinburgh instead of Charles and Camilla.

I like these two a lot. I hope they have many years together. I don't think I'll live long enough to see them as King & Queen but I'm sure they will be the best. The world needs them now too.

There are many other instances where these so called royals use their influence to hide the inconvenient truth. I assume the princess mememe you refer to is Meghan M. I couldn't care less about her and I don't understand why you need to bring her up.
So back to the topic. The UK is a great country, which tourists will continue to visit regardless of the Royals (tourists don't get to see them anyway) and there is nothing to suggest they can go on pretending to be royals on their own time. With the charity thing, you know that Kate was admonished by a charity for which she is supposedly working because she only spoke to them once in 10 years. They are awful people who don't have a job and live of the hard work of others.
As for being royal, what does that mean. How do I become a royal? Can I get elected to the position, or does my mummy just have to tell me I am a prince? Maybe I could kill my brothers in the tower, or go to war with the king or queen of another country.
There is no such thing as a royal. It is completely made up. It is all play acting with people being given titles here and there. But just because my mommy tells my I'm a prince, it does not necessarily follow that I should insist you are my subject and should work to support me. When the government gets involved and helps me take your money, there is something wrong, don't you agree.

Prince William and Dutchess Catherine are the bridge between the new and old ways of the Monarch. They are unselfish, respectful of traditions, but also youthful enough and personable to relate to all ages. Love the way Catherine is comfortable as a leader, yet has no problem walking behind her husband in receiving lines to show the future King respect by example. So many couples are in competition, which does not support the marriage.
It will be a special day when they are crowned, but certainly not rushing the Queen! She must feel at ease knowing the Monarchy will be in good hands with those two & their wonderful children.

What i like about Catherine is that she's comfortable on her own but she's not insecure when she has to walk behind her husband (a born royal), she doesn't see their relationship as competition for spotlight she knows it's all about team work and she becomes a team player.
Just like Prince Philip who dutifully followed protocols and supportively stood behind his queen.

This obsession is clearly insane and, I'm afraid to say, often racist as I've noted from some of the comments I've read. Again I don't really care about M and how evil she is or is not, but some of the commentary from people somehow wishing to bolster Kate by pointing to Ms failures is seriously out there. The fans of W and K seem to be under the impression that they have to protect K from some imaginary threat posed by M. However all the vitriol seems to be directed at M by supposed supporters of K. I do not see any evidence that M and H are engaging to any degree in the type of nonsense they have been subjected to and the character assassination seems to be coming from on direction only.
The delusional nature of those obsessed with attacking M in an attempt to somehow emphasise Kates superior virtues is further evident in the obvious fact that they are not doing K any favours. It is obvious that K suffers in the comparison with M, only a fool would think otherwise.
Meghan herself is irrelevant and uninteresting to me personally. Its not that K suffers in the comparison with M because of Ms achievements, she suffers because K has no achievements. You could literally pull any woman of her age out of a crowd and the odds are - unless you picked someone with a cognitive impairment of some type - that Kate will not fare well in the comparison. Because Kate js not only common, she is less than ordinary.
Meghan and Harry (I really hope I never have to utter those names again) might be th most evil and stupid people in the world. Who cares? The only time I hear anything about then is when they are bough to my attention by supporters of Kates.
Kate and William, on the other hand, do not conduct their stupidities on their own time or at their own expense. These are two completely unexceptional and uncharismatic people who don't have actual jobs and have done nothing in life other than be born or marry well to justify the money they steal from others who work for a living.
The endless PR campaign they engage jn is insulting jn its endeavour to present this shallow couple as if they have some substance is offensively condescending. What is really objectionable about K and W is not that they are stupid enough to go about acting as if they have a purpose in life, it's that they seem to believe they are somehow entitled to indulge their purposeless fantasy at the expense of others. The same wold have been true of M & H had they remained members of that corrupt institution that is the royal family. Even then, comparisons between M and K would have only served to highlight Ks many deficiencies further.

Imagine the royal family did not exist and the UK was a democracy in the tru sense of the word , with no hereditary lords or other unelected people being allowed to make political decisions simply because of who they are by birth. Now imagine someone comes up with the idea to augment your perfectly functioning democracy with a family who's only job will be to go on tour, participate in parades, serve as patrons of charities someone else is perfectly capable of representing,, cut ribbons and engage in photo opportunities.
Not only that, this family will have, butlers, chauffeurs, cooks, nannies, teams of security and live in unbelievable luxury in lavish premises. They will not require any special skills and we will all agree that they are special and better than us and even celebrate the head of that families birthday nationally. Of course, they will have other privileges not afforded to the rest of us, being special and all.
They will be rich of course, but even though they are independently wealthy, they will not have to work and we will pay them incredible sums of money via our taxes in order to enable them to live the lives we will all agree they are entitled to.
We will have no right to enquire into their private finances and will consider ourselves their subjects. If they consider we have served them well, they may reward us with a knighthood or something and make us special too. Of course rewards of that type will only be given to people they consider worthy - it will simply not do to elevate someone beyond their station in life and allow them to consider themselves the equal of their betters.
Elected politicians and other officials, who have been chosen by the people to represent them fairly and without favour or bias, will be climbing over one another to prove they have been good servants and represented the interest of this family just to be made a knight or awarded some other completely made up title, but it will be worth it.
Their privileges will be constitutionally protected and one of them -for no reason at all, will be the head of state. We will consider this person to be appointed by God and our elected prime ministers - who represent us "common people" as we will be called - will be expected to show deterrence to these people and bow or curtsy when summoned to their palaces.
Now wouldn't the whole idea strike you as not only ludicrous and bizarre, but completely unjust, unfair and corrupt. Please tell me how else to you define a social institution, which enjoys social and political based on no other reason than the birth right of its members - no matter how flawed they are?
How can any sane person support such an obviously socially corrosive institution based frequently on the irrelevant observation that they look nice and seem to be truly in love or any other inane observation of that type they made by watching the royals during one of their ceaseless PR stunts.?
Tell me what do you believe entitles these people to the taxpayer paid for privileges they enjoy. Keep in mind that they can call themselves dukes, duchesses, kings queens, the Count of Monte Cristo or by any other title - just as you can - in their private life if they wish. You and their other supporters are free to worship them as such as long as you like. So why don't they just get off the public payroll and continue being the royals they say they are to those who agree with them. Otherwise they are little more than constitutional thieves.
This couple appears to be an excellent example of decent behavior.

Cute? How does that entitle them to live off the tax payer? What is so great about them becoming King & Queen of the UK. What is a King? How do you get to be one? What does a King do? Does he sit on a throne all day, draped in ermine, while ripping roast chickens apart with his hands a la Henry Vlll?
A King is a tyrant, who keeps his wealth and power by violence. There is no room for a King or a Queen in a democracy. Not even in a constitutional sense. They have to be given pretend jobs to do to justify their existence and the fact that they live off people who actually work for a living.

Moreover, it is likely that the reason W&K dated for such a long time is because he, and the royal family, kept searching for a more suitable bride. You know, one with even less personality, less self respect and even more willing to do as she's told - even when her husband allegedly cheats on her - than Kate. It should be no surprise they were not successful. Hard to imagine many modern women who's social climbing ambitions outstrip their own sense of self respect, dignity and individuality to such a degree that they would be willing to even consider accepting what Kate not only accepted but strived to achieve.

These two are genuine. Unlike a certain dysfunctional couple we know of, they don't need 5 PR agencies to play games, to make them look good. They just look happy, because they are - they are two good people who met and formed a happy family. They are genuinely loving and caring towards each other, to their children and their entire family in general, but also to the people and the world as well. The uncritical devotion to the royal family and the insistence that they are somehow better than you,; the blind acceptance of the propaganda they constantly engage in to convince you that they are people you know and that they have an actual function; the willingness to turn away from, even excuse, their various misdemeanours and even crimes just to keep an infantile fairy tale alive, this is the condition that must be grown out of.
It would would not matter if living a vicarious fantasy through the totally manufactured representations of these people did not have real consequences, but they are not mere celebrities like the Kardashians (despite the similarities) and their privilege is paid for by the taxpayer. They are also a political institution, whose very existence serves to legitimise a stratified, undemocratic, class based social organisation in which it is accepted that some people - the wealthy - are better than others and are entitled to more privileges - both economic and social - more protection under the law and a greater say in the running of the country.
Grow up? You have a right to indulge your need to believe in fairy tales, but can't you attach yourself to fantasy figures with more benign political and social implications. There are a computer based fantasy worlds, I believe, in which you can role play being all sorts of magical beings, even queens. You can watch reruns of Game of Thrones, or simply follow your favourite celebrity and live vicariously through them.
The royal family are ordinary people who have no more rights to the privilege and power they enjoy than you. The constant campaign to infantilise the population into uncritically accepting these people as special beings, occupying a magical realm, should be seen for the political propaganda that it is. Special claims on their behalf should be questioned particularly when they are so obviously ridiculous.
You are not a child, I assume. Can you seriously say that these people - who have no jobs and are supported by the taxpayer - should be accepted without scrutiny because ... Well because their PR tells you that they're nice, hard working family people just like you, although superior by birth and a little bit more magical. Would you accept such nonsense from a politician?. Make no mistake the royals are politicians in constant campaign and propaganda mode. The major difference being is that you did not get to vote for the queen. God chose her for you. Makes adult sense, doesn't it?

When William and Kate lived on Anglesey when William was a rescue helicopter pilot, my son attended St David's Collage in Llandudno, my son and his friends used to go to the cinema at Llandudno junction on Saturday evenings, on a good few times William and Kate would turn up about the same time, for that period of time they got to know William and Kate, and he used to tell me all about it, long story short, they are just a normal couple but with different jobs, and possisions, and great to get on with, no body guards they didn't turn up in fancy cars,, they are great to just get on with,

Princess Diana had a lot to do with embedding compassion & humility in Prince William, and Dutchess Catherine's parents obviously did a great raising her with good work ethics, class, kindness, manners & respect for others.
William & Catherine's children have their maternal grandparents & family AND the Queen to help raise them to be well rounded with manners, grace & empathy. Love that Queen Elizabeth is spending so much time to teach both Prince William and Dutchess Catherine what to pass down to their future Royals. ❤♚🕇🙄

They were forced to high tail it. Word on the vine on which the natives swing is that Kate and William shouldl abandon their visit/vacation to the remaining two islands in which oceans they plan to bathe. A certain deceased world famous native will be haunting their privileged backsides when they set foot in Rastaland. Apparently the natives, unlike the British loyalist, saw right through her through her beautiful dresses a long time ago. You must be on top of the news, I am sure.

I normally write my own comments bit this time I wholeheartedly agree with Evianna Faye, John Carsone and a double ditto with Highlander.
Both William and Kate waited and chose the right partner, and then before committing to a lifetime of monarchy and dedication, decided not to JUMP into marriage until they both knew it was a lifetime commitment they could endure together and get stronger as a couple. So far, and only after ten years, they're doing a great supporting job, but also stepping up to the plate when necessary. They are a total package, a great family group and a wonderful asset to the monarchy.

Heavier workload-!! Good thing the babies are getting bigger and perhaps will be in college when parents are the throne. A different world. I understand why you suggest this but do not see it happening. His dad has been waiting over 70 years to take on the job he was trained for. At his age he will not have a long reign but I expect he will want the job even if just for a few years assuming he is in reasonably good health when the time comes.

Well it seems like they’re friends first. And they seem to genuinely like each other. They’re normal - and 20 years and 3 kids later they appear to be weathering that all really well. It helps that her parents are great role models for them. And perhaps are accountability role models.

Canadian here.At almost 80 , for whatever happens to the monarchy, I truly believe that William is the only one who can hold this together- an awful burden on this man. My husband and I have been together since 15 and 18. We just celebrated our 54th Wedding Anniversary and I know that silent exhibit between two people, of deep love and a strong relationship when I see it. Cate and William have such a relationship. You don’t get to that place by not experiencing sadness, anger, grief, misunderstandings and all other mode of feelings, that then evolve into your realistic expectations of your relationship and a deep love for your partner, knowing he has your back and loves you. You don’t need to verbalise your love as a look says all. They share that same look, I know so well and they have come to recognise it as their safe place.
