    Your attention to detail is so great! Many gloss over the intricate, subtle, and essential feel to most songs, providing only the basic "how". I've re-learned many classics from you that I thought I knew as a professional, and I can't thank you enough for helping to take my delivery of these songs to that next level.
    You truly are an exceptional player, with an incredible ear and feel. Thank you!

    Subscribed just for the fact that you start each tutorial with a performance, rather than the usual "take your third finger and put it on the second string" nonsense.

    Whats the guitar brand/model used on this clip? Beautiful crisp, clear sound. I heard Dave Gilmour has some big stubby fingers too, so assume strings are lighter gauge with a nicer action for bending on this model????

    perfection as always -- no one as good as you anywhere ! Question-- where were you in 1975 when I was slowing down my turntable? It is so much easier now, but who knows -- maybe we are all better for the suffering back then! Thanks again!

      +John Bosquet-Morra Thanks so much John. In 1975, I was abusing records just like you! It was a hassle for sure, but there is nothing like it for developing your ear, which to me is THE most important skill you need to have to be a good musician. cheers

    Finally! Thanks so much man. Just one question. Have you ever had experience with Martin Guitars? For example the gpca5 which is about 600 bucks. Do u think that's worth it?

    • @georgefrenzel4746
      @georgefrenzel4746 8 років тому

      I'd recommend spending a bit more and going for the DRS2, I was going to buy one of martin's laminate guitars, but the DRS is all solid wood and sounds incredible for its price

    • @sethguitar5395
      @sethguitar5395 8 років тому

      +George Frenzel ok thanks! And how does the Taylor 200series compete?

    • @georgefrenzel4746
      @georgefrenzel4746 8 років тому

      +Fishtankguy 15 no clue about the 200 series, I'd say the 300 series is more comparable. A friend of mine has a 316 and loves it, I'm just not a Taylor guy. But you have to go to a shop and play them all before making a decision, guitars are really personal preferences

    • @sethguitar5395
      @sethguitar5395 8 років тому

      +George Frenzel of course. Thanks

    • @ShutupAndPlayGuitarTutorials
      @ShutupAndPlayGuitarTutorials  8 років тому +3

      +Fishtankguy 15 Thanks bud. I'm not sure about that exact model, actually I don't ever look at makes or model numbers. I just play as many guitars as possible side by side, ignoring the makes, models, fancy binding and assorted bling etc, and especially ignoring the salesmen haha. I narrow it down to 2 or 3 guitars that I like the SOUND of and that play well. Then I pick the one that really resonates with me the most. Then I see if I can afford it. When I bought my Taylor 214ce koa deluxe, it had zero to do with koa wood, laminate, solid or anything else. To me, that guitar played and sounded the best to my ears. As it turned out, it was a lot less than some of the other guitars that I didn't like! Hope that helps. cheers

    • @jalencaldwell9863
      @jalencaldwell9863 8 років тому +1

      It's the practice of stringing your guitar with strings light enough to tune your guitar up a step from standard. It simulates the extra string on a twelve string

      you can, and anyone can! believe me. ive been playing for a year and a half. as long as you have the motivation or desire to keep practicing. it will hard in the beginning, but like anything, with practice, it gets easier. and it doesnt matter what age you are, you can start anywhere. buy a cheap but decent acoustic guitar.

    • @ShutupAndPlayGuitarTutorials
      @ShutupAndPlayGuitarTutorials  8 років тому +6

      +The Boy Who Cried Pizza Absolutely right! Playing guitar is not about having some kind of mystical talent. It's about exactly what you just said, determination, desire and practice. Like learning anything, there will be roadblocks and frustrations, but if you can hang in and overcome the obstacles without giving up, and are willing and able to put the time in, you'll be able to play probably better than you ever imagined...
