Awesome video Sean! Great tips for tips! I always enjoy your creative content and expertise. Your wonderful contributions to knife enthusiasts are immeasurable!! ❤️ 👏👍💯‼️
Thank you for a thorough and detailed presentation on how to fix tips. As a rookie sharpener, sharpening the tips is the most difficult part of using a fixed angle sharpener so this was helpful. Here is a tip for you, place the shifter knob and spring stopper stuff at the end of the video or make it a separate video. I almost stop viewing this one because it took so long to get to the titled content. But I am glad a viewed the entire video. Again thanks.
Only KME I've ever seen that has four on the floor, haha, love it. Great info as always. Good demonstration on what everyone says about using the sharpie, so that you can prove it to yourself, despite what you think you see. Thanks for the upload.
Thanks brother!! Happy to hear they are helpful! Some things are kinda hard to explain and put into words because I normally just do it but hopefully I was able to convey what I was doing!
Hey Sean thanks for the tips and sharing they always help and bring more ideas ,I use a Tsprof pretty much same thing , I used to sharpen in a more sweeping motion side to side but It was always giving me facets and cloudy uneven scratch pattern , now I just use straight up and down motions but progressively move heel to tip and tip to heel , My polished edges come out close to perfect now , I use a jewelers loop and sharpie and constantly check my edge bevel and progression
Ive been very impressed with their performance and I like how its a compact design. When I bought them I thought they were 1 inch wide and they are actually like 3/4 so I wish they were wider but they are an amazing value!
Could you use a more acute angle to restore the tip, more so than the factory angle, and then drop it back down to actually sharpen? I've seen videos of people doing this to repair chips in knives.
Because I wanted one 🤷🏻♂️ The KME is great but my results are due to constant practice and willingness to learn and hundreds of knives sharpened. The system you use really isn’t a determining factor of your success with sharpening. Some are better than others but a good sharpener should be able to get good results with whatever they have!
Not necessarily. It can be but not always the case. Might have to go back to the previous grit first. That’s why I always emphasize the importance of taking your time being thorough on the initial reprofiling with your first stone! There’s plenty of other possible causes though. Watch my sharpening tips videos and use it like a check list. 👊🏼

The finger under the tip is an absolute game changer , thank you for the knowledge transfer, great tip !!
👊🏼☺️
Looking forward to seeing the finished product to see those bevels since they were very different width from side to side, especially near the tip.

good teacher! 🙏
Thank you!! 🙏🏻☺️
Hey Sean, what do you think of those Venev Dog stones you are using?
Ive been very impressed with their performance and I like how its a compact design. When I bought them I thought they were 1 inch wide and they are actually like 3/4 so I wish they were wider but they are an amazing value!
Hey Sean, could you explain why some knives get mounted this way as opposed to parallel with the line from heel to tip?
Great videos but I wish you would talk more about the stones you are using in the process.
good tip for the tip! :D

That’s not a bad idea, definitely worth a try! Thanks 👊🏼😁
Curious why you bought the Tprof as this KME seems to be doing the job really well

Super cool mod what's the purpose of the zip tie?
Thanks! The zip tie is to protect the plunge grind from getting hit!
@@BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL cheers for the info and im also a big fan of your shamans such a badass blade so under rated
Is the trick with shiny spots, to just keep going at the same grit until they disappear?
Not necessarily. It can be but not always the case. Might have to go back to the previous grit first.
