How can anyone be as productive--and tug at our heart's strings--as Glass? Although you can recognize Glass' style, every work is different and touches multitudes of emotions.

Linda Ronstadt on the ethereal vocals. This is a great song to play driving on a narrow mountain road as dusk turns to night, headlights picking up reflectors on the stripe down the middle. I know. I did it and can still see it.

@@wgaule While it was happening my friend and I were too blissed out to be saying much, just giving in to the moment -- I suppose what some people would have labeled a peak experience.

The Alien in this piece says "You have spoken a heresy" to the guy who was abducted in "1,000 Airplanes on My Roof" - when no-one would believe him.

Like this piece of music. It reminds me of being in a place that is hidden away, truly the labyrinth, like a nice warm place to rest in the sun, away from the cares of the world, lost in reverie.

Open three youtube tabs, one with Philip Glass' "Labyrinth", Terry Riley's "Persian Surgery Dervishes" and the last with "Happy Ending" by Philip Glass.
    Play them simultaneously.
    Let your mind wander.

Labyrinths and places of great healing energy, one of the most famous and correct me if I am wrong is the second one I have had the honour of visiting and walking around and that is Chartre Cathedral on a Friday with chairs removed. The first one being at Bedford through my Reiki Group which is based on the great one in France!

This is from a recording called "1000 Airplanes on the Roof". Linda Ronstadt vocals. Performed in an airplane hanger. The rest of the recording is much more like techo-rock.

Labyrinths are truly extreme quantum areas, and I shall remember walking around Chartre for the rest of my life, the Cathedral is a marvel of construction built by all high and low proletariat to lords and ladies of all creeds and denominations of men ( ladies) and religions a rare example of differing factions working towards the common good RELIGION.

@dja51 I recommend the documentary Chartres Cathedral & Sacred Geometry, quite incredibly the rose window if folded onto itself fits perfectly into the labaryth on the floor. Quite incredible architecture, I would say a 'spiritual' place for people of any religion, a place where a jew could enter into alongside a muslim or budhist without prejudice of different beliefs.

How strange. You mention dear Prudence. On two seperate programs tonight I saw a quiz program and they asked a question about Philip Glass, so i thought i would look him up to see what his music wa like. A couple of hours later i was changing channel on TV and a movie called "Across the universe was on, and at that point they were singing Dear Prudence. Hear i am listening to Philip Glass and you mention Dear Prudence.

@WanderLink Chartes is femanine, the labyrinth the womb, it is (to christians/catholics) virgin mary (which is under the constellation virgo.. not jesus.. It also has islamic, hinduism, alchemic, kabbalah, pagan, budhist symbology/carvings, it is NOT uniquely christian. To believe this is to deny what is clearly visible if one opens their eyes.
