I love that it is Linda Ronstadt providing the ethereal voice that is the most appreciated musical element in "Labyrinth" (21:41) and the following track "Return to the Hive"
yes, it is sublime. Linda is fantastic. Also love her appearances on Songs For Liquid Days. btw firefly, love the videos on your youtube channel. right up my alley!
@@robtempe a kindred soul. Good to know you, Rob. Best to you. There are quite a few vids on UA-cam that are worth saving into a Playlist. Percentage-wise small but still a lot.
In “Labyrinth” which begins @21:41 if it isn’t abundantly clear for y’all to discern, what the Visitor is articulating to M. are these words, “It is better to forget. It is pointless to remember. No one will believe you. You will have spoken a heresy. You will be outcast.” Y’all’re welcome. Safe journeys, everybody. And Linda Ronstadt, we all really miss your presence. You’re just incomparably magnificent in this. Vaya con Dios.
Thank you for posting. I have this in cd form, and have just ordered vinyl of it. I consider myself lucky that I saw a touring production of this at the Madison Civic Center. It was absolutely brilliant.
I saw the touring production in 1988 or 1989, whenever it was, at McFarlin Auditorium, SMU campus, in Dallas, TX. My mom only had it on cassette. Met him in 1995 or 1996 and got the cassette signed.
I saw it here in Copenhagen - what an impressive stage show that was! 🤩 Unfortunately, my record collection was stolen a few years later😥, and with it this record😞. It's not on any streaming services, and it is nowhere to be found here in Denmark. Where did you order the vinyl from?
Hello! I am a researcher of this play, and currently, I have difficulty accessing it. I would like to know if the museum collects the recording of the play. If so, would you mind sharing with me more details about how to access it? Thank you very much!
Listening right now for the first time in 20ish years. Since then I've learned how to play music, specifically on piano and synthesizers. Beautiful piece that hits so much different now that I can think about what the musicians are doing. Why is this one so hard to find?
I saw this live stage concert/production years ago. The sets were extremely minimal and dark…being made up of a few objects and the rest was laser show scenery that the actor interacted with through the use of the objects. The laser show kept transforming the locations. It was so cool and the music was awesome. Wish there was footage somewhere to watch. I still have the album on cassette tape 😊.
I got to see this live in Dallas around 1988/1989. Saw him again around 1995/1996, doing a Q&A after a viewing of Koyaanisqatsi. Got to meet him and get a cassette of 1000 Airplanes autographed. Would have been perfect, if he hadn’t poked fun of how fat I was at the time. I was in high school.
Saw the world premiere at Zellervach with Phillip Glass performing and conducting my girlfriend (now ex were together 125 years) falls asleep drools and wets herself
Special dedication to the guy (Jonah Hill? The editor?) who illustrated the 90's “five O, five O” scene with “A Normal Man Running” by Philip Glass… A particularly amazing title
Be thankful it is on UA-cam right now and enjoy it while you can. Like other recordings that go out of license, it may or may not ever come back. This is the way--for now.
@@dbmusicproductions9181 So we realise that there isn't anything that hasn't been put on UA-cam. It's an endless cornucopia, and one day its seams will go supernova!

Feels like a 90s sci-fi soundtrack
To accompany that great score for BUCKAROO BONZAI, perhaps?
Amazing album..It really takes me back to other times. Philip Glass is genious...❤❤❤
My son performed this with the Seattle Cascades in 2017 and it is so hard to find this! Thank you!!
seattle cascades played this in 2017? I only knew this from 7th Regiment 2023
One of the best pieces of the awesome trespassing new way of music of Philip Glass.
Thanks for posting. I heard this piece on the radio in the early 90s. Nostalgia for me.
Saw as a touring production in la with my 16 yo daughter. Who was astonished that I liked it
my parents dragged me to this as a kid, it was dreadful. Now a Philip Glass fan.
Thanks for posting this. I hadn't heard this one before.😊
thank you - neither apple music nor spotify have the album
Spoti does
I saw this in the East Fortune Flight Museum in Scotland. In the Concorde hangar. Very impressive.

I also saw this at SMU. I think it was 1988. It blew my mind.
I would love to have a video of that performance
PG made fun of your weight? LOL He is a very nice guy and I find it hard to believe he did that.
@@povertyspec9651 Even the nicest of people can have their low moments. 😶
He performed for two hundred patrons and me at the Saint Louis Art Museum in the Spring of 1972, emptying close to half the auditorium.

125 is a long time, most of us would be having incontinence issues, so she should be forgiven.
WOW! Wonderful !
I understand that this was originally the score of a theatre sci-fi piece? Ear candy
Ive got the CD and the vinyl
I listened because of Dearly Devoted Dexter by Jeff Lindsay page 26.
El Bach del digloXX
Is there any video of the original production of this? I so wanted to see it when toured in the late 80's.

Yeah I love this scene
Glass is underrated!
?!
You must credit the incredible vocals by Linda Ronstadt.
He did. Her name is in the description.
Just whips the britches off of DARK SIDE oF THE M00N. But, which came first? Phil or Floyd?
What can i listen to this on besides youtube?
