Sabalanca through the match sabbalanca head over 50 errors which is ridiculous and 20 double faults she gave the match away I don't know how much she was paid but it was a 100% rigged just like Coco's semifinal

I respect and like Gilbert but I don't think he is a legend. The have been better players and coaches than him. One thing I like about him, he used the environment around him to help him win matches, that distract other players, i.e., wind, jet noise, etc. Didn't like his plan to have ever increasing speed with Roddick's serve, that led to his downfall.
With Coco, I noticed he is only concentrating on her strengths not the speed.
Chrissie was right, in 2019 the tennis world knew that Coco is going to be big and start winning Grand Slams. I think she will end her career aged in her late 30s having won about 40 singles titles including around 8 grand slams.

The tennis world and tennis media knew Coco was coming when she was only 13, when she was the youngest junior who played the usopen junior final and became the youngest junior nr 1 not much later. She got signed after that run by Federers and Tony Godsick Team8. She earned more then 1 million dollars from sponsors at the age of 14, so 1 year before the Wimbledon run. It was no surprise. Coco is seen as the future star and new face of WTA for years.
Maybe Brad Gibert could help the American men. He is a master MOTAvater and a tennis zen master.

@@Kassiusday You seem perplexed by the statement. Its True Venus and Sereena did nit ger endorsements in the early days despite winning in their early days. In comparisons to their White counterparts like Sharapova et El who were getting enforcement galore even though they were not winning that much. So yes due Their Melanin companies were nit open to endorsing them. This came much later on in their career. So hopefully Coco will not experience this. If she does its their loss anyway.

Coco got endorsements since the age of 14, she was at that time already a miljonair. That was before her Wimbledon run. She got sighed by Federers agency at the age of 13. They were in a agressive bid battle with Nike and NB before she played her first major match. But her agent Tony Godsick told when she was 15, that he did not want everyone jumping on the brandwagon and only wanted to work with endorsments who are for the long term. So not with everyone who want to jump on the brandwagon. Too much endorsements only give too much distraction. As we see with Emma Raducanu with her 100 of endorsements. Emma is used as a milkcow by her agency. When Less is better.
I recommend everyone look at 15 year old Coco win her third round Match at Wimbledon Gauff vs Hercog. She lost the first Set, was 5 -2 down in the 2nd Set, and came back and won that Match! She showed her metal in that Match!!! 15 years old.
Her parents should be THE example of tennis prodigies' parents.We have seen many of what NOT to do as tennis parents. Well done to them!!

Glad he's coaching Coco! She's a phenom. Hopefully Brad will teach Coco to use her serve more and be way more aggressive because Coco only needs to play defense when she needs to. Coco Gauff reminds me more of Steffi Graf or potentially Djokovic... whereas Sabalenka is more of a Serena Williams big babe type. It's fun watching the different styles.

I did NOT say Coco Gauff could beat Djokovic. I simply compared their games. Coco is a great athlete (for a female and great athlete, period). Coco is 19 years old. Her forehand, volleys, and everything will get better. How many Grand Slams fish Djokovic have at the age of 19?? Coco has the potential to carve her own niche. I feel her game is similar to certain players and different from certain players. Serena could play defense but was far more aggressive than Coco is right now. Again, she's 19. And female athletes don't have to play and beat male athletes in order to be compared to them or praised for their greatness.

Coco did great. Third teenager to win the US Open over 50 years. She leveled up when she needed it. Brad Gilbert, legendary coach. I hope he keeps doing it, it's what he's best at. My thanks to Coco for hiring him, and to Brad for taking her up on it, and getting him out of the booth full-time, because his match calling is a different story. If I never hear that corny "fearhand" again, it will be too soon. Great coach though. Keep that up.

i think it was Osaka that first to sense that Coco will be a grand slam champion when Osaka shared the mic when she beat Coco during the US open 2019 what a gracious winner... Coco Iga Ary elena Karolina and Ons are the main stay during grand slam and wta1000. I miss Naomi Osaka

Gauff lost first round at Wimbledon. Brad Gilbert was brought in as "an advisor" (Gauff's words, but whatever). After Gilbert joined Team Gauff and Gauff's daddy took a back seat, Gauff went on a winning tear up to and through the U.S. Open. Would those wins have happened without Gilbert? Possibly, but I highly doubt it. Congrats to Team Gauff and give credit where credit is due -- imo Brad Gilbert was the difference maker. 🏆 🏆 🏆

It took more than fuel, confidence and emotions to win a game. It mostly took skill and endurance! Ps he didn't win by magic or by accident! It took skill and cleverness against the so called#1!

this will NOT be her last grand slam win. I saw too much from her, that tells me, this is just the tip of the iceberg, for her. And if she's really interested in going to another level, I think she should keep Brad Gilbert in her corner. If he was good enough for Murray and Agassi, then he's good enough for her.
Gilbert is DEFINITELY one of the best coaches the game's ever seen. He never got a shot to coach Serena or Venus on the female side of things. But I like to think that he believes that CoCo has the same skillset as those two..and with that being the case, it will be very interesting to see how he's able to motivate her, even more than he has, moving forward.

In women's game, "coming out on fire" has been reserved for up-and-comers, as coaches and players won't get to the bottom of the mentality weakness issue that's so pervasive in the sport. Players fully succumb in meltdown to self-induced pressure and seldom recover. That's why in tennis they still have to fight for more prize money across the tour. That refusal to recover undermines the sport.

I think we look at colour too much. If the trainer is white and kind or otherwise, we go where they are but she gave credit to God, her parents, family and fans so she knows where to give honor. Brad is a great coach, and a good dad.

This! Brad was a great addition, but the formula was already there. She won a match IN THIS TOURNAMENT doing what he told her not to, and said it was her father's scouting report that did it for her in her victory speech. Yes, Brad is great at what he does, I am a Brad fan, but it is disturbing to see how many people are acting as if she wasn't already on the cusp of winning a slam. More than anything, it was her bruised pride from Wimbledon that kicked it into gear. Brad added on to what her family, coach, trainer, hitting partner, etc. had already built. He didn't start from "scratch."
