As a black man I just want to thank Coco for recognising her dad in such a beautifulmanner, she sends a strong message, lets be there for our kids for a better society. The traditional black family needs to be promoted again
All the time.
@@josephatherley86and with such black families United and supportive .. to make America great again…
@charleso6316, As a white woman, I agree Charles. It was so great to see dad and daughter hug, cry, and for her to give him the credit he deserves is so special.
Great job. Very inspiring 👍🏻
Amen
"Honor your father and your mother" - With Coco, it is plain to see that she truly honors her parents from her heart
You should only honor your parents if they deserve to be honored
She has good reads to honor them. Before comes "love your children unconditionally"
Why should someone honor their parents just because they are their parents? If they are good parents great, but there are plenty of sh!tty parents out there. No parent should be “honored” just because they are a parent.
@@pontusschroder8361💯
@@jasonaltig985 I totally agree.
Coco Gauff is part of ushering in a new era of US Open Tennis. The energy from the US Open home crowd in 2023 has been on another level, kind of like a football (soccer) crowd. And Coco has definitely been playing to the fans in the stadium and bringing her own infectious energy to each match throughout this tournament. I love it and I hope it continues.
TRUTH IS TRUTH!
JUST THE FACTS!
SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT!
THIS! And she’s proud humble, wise beyond her years, funny and not scared to let her light shine in dark places. That’s missing in many adults, let alone teens - anyone sane has to respect that.
Well said 👊🖤 I couldn't think 🤔 of a better way to sum this all up ..to me it was very inspiring..New York rocks ❤ 🌟🌟
@@nkululekonazo5755I just love the silence from the haters they said she will NEVER hold a slam that's the fuel she needed . Thx hater's 🎉😂
@@farayimatibiri1724😂 tennis don’t have haters because no one’s e cares about it 😂 plus all the chicks look like dudes 😂
Glad that her dad was able to recognize that as great as Coco was she needed someone else to get her to that next level and they brought on Brad Gilbert.
she also mentioned someone named pere. not sure if that's the correct spelling but do you know who that is?
@@Lil08103He was her other coach sitting next to Brad Gilbert
Pere Riba is Coco’s main coach, and Gilbert was brought on to support
It’s so fitting that the last words, of the tournament, at the ESPN desk, would be about her dad!! Way to go Coco! Thanks, Mom and Dad!
Yes , our black fathers are in our lives ‼️
Because she is a he...just like the wilson sisters...I mean williams
Mad respect for her.
Happy respect
It's so important for children to have a father in their lives...
💯
word
And to make it clear for the ones at the back; fathers (men), and mothers (women).
Bingo!
Amen to that! The first man they love unconditionally
It takes a real humble man to let go of her little girl and accept he brought her as far as he could. He sought the help she needed and now she’s one of the great’s!
This is the key. An honorable move and it strengthens the trust between them bc he respects the big picture without ego
Give Honor to Venus & Serena's father... He triggered the touch..
She's our new tennis 🎾 Queen, her rank doesn't matter, you're a real champion. Congratulations Coco G❤
Absolutely NO ONE cares about the rankings. All that matters in tennis is major tournament (Australian, French, Wimbledon, U.S.) singles titles won.
I'm so proud, so, so so so so proud of her, and I congratulate her father, mother, brothers, coaches; her entire team since they all share in this grand rise! It was very moving hearing her give her father his DUE credit for being her BEST supporter and anchor! You did good, parents!
Great athlete, wonderful young lady in honoring her father's role and contribution to her success. Fantastic job.
Well spoken, clear and Concise. So mature and many Congratulations to her parents. They did a great job raising this young woman. They are such great examples to her.
yes Transgender rools ...a great example to young . . . .
@@krishnan-resurrection714 Thank you for express your jealousy .
This girl could speak. So educated with her humility. Adds to her special nature
Coco’s humbleness, humility, and extreme willingness to play her hardest every time is why she deserves this! We love you 💜 go off! Coco Gauff!😘
How great is that and how wonderful for her and her family, and us proud Americans!!!!!!!!!!
Chris Everett makes me want to be a better person. She has always reached out and nurtured all the players but especially the young black players. And she's very vocal about her support. Thank you Chris!
Wow! She gave the fans, what they gave her, LOVE!!
It was her Champion's speech for me.."I want to thank all those who DIDN'T believe in me...added gas to my fire." Remarkable introspection for a Teenager.
Anyone who knows and watches tennis still do not believe in someone who was handed the match because her opponent had 43 unforced errors. They had to rig the entire tournament for her. She has been tour 5 years and could not win a Slam the honest way.
@@cola7ups823 may the Holy Spirit heal your negativity. Coco won the championship.
@cola7ups823 it's whoever plays the best on that day, during the match. If your opponent does not show up to play, that opponent does not deserve to win (obviously). That does not diminish the Champion.
Coco is an amazing young lady. Dreams do come true. She is living proof!
the way she spoke about HER father😭🙏🏾beautiful
And soon as she start giving him appreciation they wrapped the show up... Coincidence?
What a grateful person. I'm so happy for her parents.
I am so proud of her. Her grace and poise on and off the court is definitely a class act. 🖤🖤
Thank you Coco for taking the time to honor your dad. In today's world Black Fathers rarely get recognized and for you to honor yours meant the world to an elder like myself.
yes!!!
Being a girl dad has been a journey of love. I'm glad Coco at a young age understands the unconditional love of being a parent. Seeing her dad cry for the first time made me cry. Congratulations champ. Stay humble.
💯 %… when Mom does good you never hear the end of it, in this war against masculinity, fathers hardly get their respect. She’s raised properly.
@@johnmalone1189 Well said sir.
Yes indeed
"Coco you make me want to be a better person" I felt that. It is something about Coco, she just has it. I'm sure she is going to make mistakes, like we all did. But i def wouldnt mind my daughter looking up to her. Her parents did a great job.
They sure did, they both abused her and threw her out in the world to work and support them at an early age.
@cola7ups823 they both are successful lol. Try again lol. Are you mad she found her passion at a young age and you probably work some 9 to 5 you hate going to lol
It's a great example of having the mental fortitude to adapt, dominate, and win against an opponent. The watch was fantastic & the proud dad shed a tear, how cute is that?
Such a breath of fresh air and delightful soul. We are absolutely full of love for Coco. She makes us all want to be better.
Spot on! "She makes us all want to do better."
"That man has supported me so much..." What a sweet, sincere statement about her father. Beautiful.
A Beautiful young woman with a Beautiful soul and a Great Family! 🙏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
It is so beautiful to see such a talented, mature, nice young Lady win and be so giving to everyone. The love and respect she shows the fans is all class. Her parents have done a wonderful job and her respect and love for her Father's trainging is clear. Congratulations to her Dad for recognising when she needed the next level trainer and bring in Brad. It is a pity we won't see Coco and Serena compete, maybe someone could organise a charity match. All the very best for you in the future Coco. Congratulations! 💐💕
Exactly. That match with Siegmund, Wozniacki, those battles prepared her for this final. Mental readiness from those three setter matches helped her get ready for this one.
Coco have so much grace and humility I just love her congratulations to her on her win she deserve it she came a long way
Congratulations Coco! Thank for shout out your father and straightening out any false narratives about him. 😊🎉
This one of the things i love about America 🇺🇸 they love their champions... and in this kind of environment there's no way u can lose. Much love and respect from South Africa 🇿🇦🖤👑❤️🙌
You don't really know america.
America love to win but the majority population do not like the “people” who look like her who win. It's all fake over here. Yeah buddy you really don't know about America. If Black America was its own a country the USA wouldn't win hardly nothing and have no entertainment. 🤣
I’m so happy for her. She’s gone to another level and she’s a joy to listen to 🤗🤗🤗🤗
She definitely on her way
I was happy for coco and equally happy for her dad. I must say though, a HUGE shoutout to brad gilbert, what he has done with coco in just one season will be referenced for a long time. People
Love to only notice a coach when a player is doing bad, but he joined coco’s team and the effects has been undeniable.
Congratulations baby girl you did it I am so so happy and proud of you. Thank for fighting through all the adversities and distractions and keeping your composure you’re a true winner 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
So positive, so mature, and so happy😊. Go Coco Champion!!
A father is key to a child’s success
Dad didn’t let his pride take over. It takes a real man to admit and say that he needs help! RESPECT!!! He did what was best for his baby girl. 😢 Congratulations to Coco Gauff, who am I been following from day one, and to her family and coaches!
To be blessed to win championships (she'll win more) & have your family there to witness your Victory, there's no better feeling in the world! You Go Girl!!!

What a phenomenal champion. Well done Coco!❤
Coco is my US Open Final Champion. I believe in her ever since the US open grand opening day
Good kid. I hope she wins many more.
Well done Coco. We are so happy for you. This interview made us cry with joy.
Hard work pays off. Great win. Excellent fathering and excellent insight by her father on knowing when to step back and bring in other team members to take things to the next level.
Honor thy Father & Mother.
We have to give New York applause because they all were in her corner and kept her spirits alive. She is a true champion. Congratulations Coco.
Love that she honored her dad and his role and did not allow people to out a wedge bewtween them. Secondly the recognition of the generational wisdom that helped her become a more elite, emotional intelligent player to achieve this goal. Outstanding!!🥰🙌🏾 Loved my momma but was a daddy's girl too and boy do I miss him.
Brad as goofy as he is - he produces winners. Very happy for Coco. Also everyone's correct finally a humble , gracious young lady who gives credit to others.
19 years is a good streak for the dad, I applaud him.
She matured a lot after the French Open loss.

For the first time a father is given his flowers, fantastic we men rarely gets credit for the sacrifices made, coconut this was beautiful congratulations on your win.
The first time? Lol. People thank their parents all the time
Coco so proud of you! She is very articulate, smart with great athleticism. You did it!
Coco Gauff, she is candid & truthful! She is an inspirational & impactful youth who has other people's interest at heart! That's why the viewers at home around the world, fans, supporters, tennis followers, sponsors, stakeholders, shareholders et cetera et cetera gets owned up to in her remarks!
What a humble and down-to-earth girl child.
She is always calm.
Calm in defeats & wins.
She is well-groomed & the principles r what determine her actions off & on the field of play.
They try to change the subject quick when she was giving props to her father 😏
I'm still scratching my head and wondering the psychology behind that. I mean....did the woman get uncomfortable because Coco was giving so much deserved credit to her father?
Why are we even surprised? Feminists are triggered by any straight man.
Congratulations to Coco Gauff. There is a reason for everything
A young black women giving respect to her father who helped bring her into the world , a rare moment indeed.
She was amazing - running like a rabbit 😀 . Just incredible performance 🇺🇸🏆🙏👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'm glad she continued speaking on her dad after that lady next to her interrupted and tried to distract her from her moment.
Trying to make something out of nothing 🙄
CG is a lovely person, great for the game and for US Tennis.
Congrats to Coco Gouff. Great win. Teenager! Wow.
Congrats Coco 👏...well deserved win!!
MORE proof that great fathers make champions. From Serena, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan and many more champions. Big ups to Coco, very very proud of this young woman.
Great comment. I'd add Terrence Crawford and Floyd Mayweather jr
And everyone of them you named, have surrounded themselves with nothing but wh$te people. Tiger Woods have his father buried under a tree with no headstone and nothing but a rock. So something went wrong somewhere with these so call great fathers you are speaking off.
Extremely talented, only 19 years old!!
Coco has a winner's heart. Even so, she knows win or lose, life goes on and she'll be alright. Great stuff!
I am so proud of this young lady. Thank you Coco. 🎉
