What always impresses me is that you thoroughly go through with the diagnosis to confirm if a repair attempt makes sense or not; I've often seen that shops start swapping so many parts that they basically build a new card. That makes the customer end up with a huge bill and a card which is still dead. Kudos!
Because sometimes there are lot of burned components on the same line - 3.3v or 5v rails, so you can complete diagnostics without remove/replace these components..
@@todornikolov7286 If pcbs were designed with repairabilty in mind, it could be so much easier and worthwhile. For example, by not connecting IC pins directly to power rails. Just having the ability to disconnecting them from the rail / net by removing a SMD fuse, solder bridge or resistor would already help a lot.

Jfc... The amount of Broken / Damaged RTX 4090's I see just because people install a waterblock on a GPU with already over-specced cooler is ridiculous.
Yeah, I mean... it's just not worth the risk. I understand the desire for a good looking and cool system, but many of these cards already have excellent cooling out of the box, they also look extremely good and, most importantly, they come with a 3 or even 4 year warranty. Why would anyone risk losing that warranty is beyond me (especially with a 2000 euro card).
@@ruxandy There are some Companies that work together where putting on a waterblock from a specific company you won't void your warranty. KrisFix explains it in the video from a week ago right at the beginning. But at the same time, I just feel like it's completely unnecessary unless you're planning to do some heavy overclocking (Which isn't even really worth it on 4090). I don't think I have ever seen mine get anywhere near 70°C and even at like 75% Fan speed i just can not hear the card. And I have it right by my side on the table.
My motivation for putting a block on mine was to shorten the thing down to better fit in my case. But after I spent 2 weeks troubleshooting my system (which had worked prior to putting the 4090 in the loop), putting the air cooler back on and then testing the card in another system (it was fine, I had some c-state issue crop up in my main system when I changed cases), I haven't bothered to put the block back on since I was able to make it fit in the case.
@@nathanwiens108 Basically the same, full custom loop in my system, and the card just couldn't fit without a waterblock, remember that the 4090 coolers are massive and you'll likely loose a pci slot because of the depth, in my case it was unhappy with the reservoir in its way. Also, you always test your loop with nothing but the pump connected to the PSU and use the PSU jumper on the 24 pin to start leak testing. Never EVER just turn it on and hope for the best. I instantly turned off the PC via mains plug on the wall, stripped the card to the PCB, cleaned all the fluid off with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol and gave it an Alcohol bath, let it sit in front of a 16-inch box fan for 4 hours (I don't own a hairdrier), I then checked the card, reassembled it, and it ran perfect after that. I think about, cleaning hardWare in the Dishwascher... DerB8uer!!! So Funny stupid, but also this can be done, when you know how to dry the stuff!! I Dont Recomend that!!
I had a leak down the memory chips and PCB of my 3080 the first day it was installed in my loop, I was running a vertical mount in my case and had 2 connections on the rear of the card, one of the fittings o-rings was not compressed enough and fluid (Deionized water, biocide and UV blue dye) leaked down the PCB, between the water block and PCB, it actually black-screened in Chrome whilst on FB, I rebooted twice before noticing fluid below the card.
The Alcohol bath saved it.
