Dear professor, these two videos about Al Ghazali are really good but one thing I would like to mention here is that Al Ghazali never forced the Arabs to abandon western philosophy. He only penned down his opinion with extremely convincing arguments that affected an entire civilization which was well-educated and free-to-think. As a student of Science, Religion and Philosophy, I learnt a lot from your videos about Al Ghazi. Al Ghazali also clarified my doubts about Qadr (Pre-destination). The way Al Ghazali thought about nano-scopic level back then is absolutely amazing.
Those who are making fun of Al Ghazali have no idea about Science and Philosophy. In order to understand the Philosophy of Al Ghazali, one needs some pre-qualifications in Philosophy i.e Basic knowledge. I will not go into depth, but I shall quote one of today's western philosophers who has WRITTEN A BOOK on Al Ghazali, Professor Frank Griffel of Yale University. He says:
"The other thing that fascinated me was that Al Ghazali thought about sciences in a very very modern way."
You can watch his interview regarding his book here:
    m.ua-cam.com/video/cY-u_37SNz4/v-deo.html&feature=share
Now, I would like to write a few lines about Al Farabi and Ibn Sina.
I really appreciate their work in Science. No doubt, they were outstanding for their time and helped Science grow to today's modern advancement.
However, Philosophy is different from Science. Cearly, in philosophy, Ibn Sina and Al Farabi have tried to re-interpret Islam in the light of Western (Greek) Philosophy. Yes, it seems plausible but in reality they almost did what Sir Syed Ahmad Khan did to explain Quran in the light of Modern Western Philosophy i.e. Revelations (wahi) became dreams, angels became light, Jinns became aggressive humans and Heaven and Hell became merely "feelings".
Al Farabi's work is not identitical to Sir Syed's work but they both have taken up a similar approach i.e. Apologetic approach for Islam infront of the "enlightened" Philosophers! This is obviously nothing more than "Kichri pakana" by mixing two different things. It is worth noting that all these philosophers Al Farabi, Ibn Sina and Sir Syed received criticism from the orthodox clergy but that criticism was only about their reinterpretation of religion i.e. twisting of scriptures, not their other good works i.e. Science. The criticism from orthodox clergy didn't stop their movements but it took them genius personalities like Al Ghazali and Allama Iqbal to get lost in history.
So Al Ghazali categorically refuted the approach of Al Farabi and Ibn Sina while Allama Iqbal covered up Sir Syed's misinterpretation or tafseer of Quran by giving his poetic tafseer of Quran which was later accepted by the orthodox clergy as well.

If Allah can cool the fire that Abraham AS was put in , if Allah Saved Mose’s from Pharaon by opening the Red Sea , if Allah saved Jonah AS from the fish , if Allah can save Joseph AS from the well His brothers threw Him in, if Jesus AS could feel all his companions. Well the list of miracles is very long. Then if still human being think the powers are in there hands then they are the most stupid people in this world. Mainly atheist. Fell sorry for people who do not believe in God or worst they think a piece of cement ( handmade) will save them.

5:40 *Correction* : The philosophy which denies the existence of free will is called determinism.
Occasionalism is the philosophy which doesn't consider a neccessary relation between cause and effect. ( It can be between body-body, soul-body, body-soul, soul-soul ). Occasionalism may imply determinism.

Laws of matter, laid down by The Creator, exist and the universe moves according to them. He can suspend them at His Will , as we see it in miracles during the age of Prophets.
One may not forget that moral laws also come from The Creator. Their noncompliance also brings consequences albeit not immediately.

To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. : Newton law of motion.
Imam Ghazali has prove through islam that every action force is ran by Allah SWT.
Where as these all scientist were known to be Hippocrates.
If you want to describe the philosophy of Imam you have reach or see as through the upper top level.
He always speak and wrote in ref. to ahadees and quran. He has never mentioned anything out of this context.
(Al-Muhasibi (781-857) was the founder of the Baghdad School of Islamic philosophy, and a teacher of the Sufi masters Junayd al-Baghdadi and Sirri Saqti.
His full name is Abu Abdullah Harith bin Asad al-Basri. He was born in Basra in 781. Muhasibi means self-inspection/audit. It was his characteristic property. He was a founder of Sufi doctrine, and influenced many subsequent theologians, such as al-Ghazali.)

@@sheesmustafa9522 The Debate Between Adam And Musa (Peace And Blessings Of Allah Be Upon Them)
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
There was an argument between Adam and Moses (peace be upon both of them) in the presence of their Lord. Adam came the better of Moses. Moses said: Are you that Adam whom Allah created with His Hand and breathed into himHis sprit, and commanded angels to fall in prostration before him and He made you live in Paradise with comfort and ease. Then you caused the people to get down to the earth because of your lapse. Adam said: Are you that Moses whom Allah selected for His Messengership and for His conversation with him and conferred upon you the tablets, in which everything was clearly explained and granted you the audience in order to have confidential talk with you. What is your opinion, how long Torah would haye been written before I was created? Moses said: Forty years before. Adam said: Did you not see these words: Adam committed an error and he was enticed to (do so). He (Moses) said: Yes. Whereupon, he (Adam) said: Do you then blame me for an act which Allah had ordained for me forty years before He created me? Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: This is how Adam came the better of Moses.

I am watching your vblog for first time though I read everything you said in Encarta, Microsoft Encyclopedia. By History of Philosophy do you mean by Burtrand Russell??
Tahaffut Al Falasafah, Chimiya e Sa'adat and Mishqaat Noor Al Islam are Al Gazali's best works.
He destroyed single handedly Al Kindi, Al Farabi and Ibn Sina and Greek philosophy till Ibn Rasheed (Averos) restored the debate again.
Whatever you narrated, Deistic God, worldview as a clock set in motion by winding the spring, Asharite Philosophy of interventionist God or Gazali's thought of a Malaika being present between every causation are all medeaval philosophy and later day developments in philosophy by Europeans rendered these irrelevant. Only Muslims still adhere to those thoughts.
