Although I have already bought an EV a while back and I will probably ride that for 10+ years I still find myself coming back to watch your reviews due to all the qualities you put into them. Thank you for your effort, time and for being you.

    Thanks Björn for this video! As always very good information and very entertaining!!
    MY 2 cents (dealbreakers) for NIO and most Chineese cars in these days:
    1. The software ... buggy and not adapted to European habbits (except for Polestar)
    2. Nomi is a pain in the a** - total nonsense IMHO
    3. Permanent "ding-dong" for almost anthing .. unaccaptable
    4. These peeking out camera bulgs are ugly ...
    All these pain-points are also in the video very well pointed out!
    But China is leader in battery tech, and that will not change any time soon.

    Considering the temperature, I think the consumption is actually good. I have seen some ET5 reviews from 🇨🇳, that car is smaller and lighter but the consumption is similar to ET7 for the time being, because the ET5 has a different powertrain. Excited to see that car for European reviews.

    Björn, do you check if the reported consumption is true? Seems like car brands can play with this number a bit to look a bit better compared to others. Do you measure total energy used after a run by charging up to the same level (100%) and noting the amount of kWh the charger delivers? In the end, this is what we pay.

    Any recommendations for a car that isn’t loaded with bloatware in the form of excessive silly tech that isn’t actually needed, dreamt up by the marketeers and execs, adding huge costs to a car sticker price?

    • @TrustedHealer58
      @TrustedHealer58 Рік тому +1

      An analog car? Any car with a bit of electronics isn't really necessary. A century ago cars could also drive but didn't even come with indicators... Even a Tesla like @squick1842 mentioned is loaded with camera's and sensors witch you don't really need. A backup camera? Just look out of your window. Parking sensors? Just watch your surroundings and get to know how big your car is.

    • @pmcbMadeInIreland
      @pmcbMadeInIreland Рік тому

      @@TrustedHealer58 aye, the issue, as I see it anyway, also reaches a broader context, not only cars. My independent garage I take my Mazda to admitted that in a few years time they might pack it in as the tech in cars is getting to a stupid level where hugely expensive diagnostic equipment is needed to diagnose a car fault and then fix it. That is a sad situation. Dealers charge a kidney or two to fix even minor issues and quite often it is not diagnosed correctly at the first pass as the tech makes it so complicated to ID a fault. [A Mazda dealer quoted me £450 to fix my sat nav, insisting that a new chip was needed. I googled the issue and discovered that a simple fix corrected the issue which was well-known. I have a tyre pressure sensor that the dealer and independent tried to fix and couldn’t. Still not fixed to this day. And I cannot disconnect it as it is a so-called safety feature. Just a few examples of many tech-based issues].
      And yes, even a Tesla is software heavy.
      Tech = buggy.
      Thank god seat belts aren’t software-based.
      An analogue car would be a dream. No dodgy electronics that fail and which can’t be fixed without hooking up to a computer.
      I’m tired of tech that exists for no reason at all other than to part people from their cash.
      And yea of course there is tech that actually is beneficial.
