Dear NCAA: Hawaii coverage of Hawaii sports is superb - could you please next year, if our team is playing, let us watch our own commentators, Chris McLaughlin and Kanoa Leahey? Our camera operators are the best, too - we are so lucky to live in Hawaii and watch Hawaii sports on TV!
Experience and Guts. Way to GO BOWS!!! Coach Wade has extreme confidence in his team and it showed in games 4 and 5. Take No Prisoners on Saturday and get Title Number 2.
I can not believe that there are not better commentators for these games! They have been awful. The best commentators are the guys from Hawaii hands down.
Hopefully before the championship match on Saturday, the announcing staff can figure out that Thelle's name is pronounced like Tell-uh. He's one of the best volleyball players in the country and they should be able to get his name right.
I believe Paul Sunderland and Kevin Barnett are going to be the ones providing commentary for the NCAA final like they did last year. They both pronounced Thelle’s name correctly in the championship match of Hawaii vs BYU last year.
Hope for the future they adopt what YT does with MLB livestreams...have the NCAA commentator, but allow each team to have their own commentators, ND the viewer can choose on the settings which commentators they want to hear.
The announcer's mispronunciation of Jakob Thelle's last name the entire match was an unprofessional travesty. Horrible, biased play call as well. You can do better NCAA. Just shameful.
His pronunciation of Jakob's last name was bothering me the entire live stream. I was trying to ignore it but it was pretty bad. He also said Kanai was from California and Keoni was from Arizona but they are both local boys...🧐🧐
NFL announcers consistently got Brett Farve's name wrong early in his career, among many examples. i also did not notice any favoritsm from announcers.
That was my thinking, that announcer was pulling for Ball St. I also tried to look past his mispronunciation of Jacob's name- like he was in the running for player of the year, he also played last year when the Bows won the championship, how do you not know his name by now?
I predict Ball State will be back next year, regardless where it is held. They've got the right coaches in place and the players bought into Coach Cruz's system. It would be awesome if UH threepeats.
Passing broke down for Hawaii and they became predictable with out of system sets from the pipe and outsides as Galloway was targeted in the passing. Hope we can pass better and set the middles...we will need it against LBSU.
I think hawaii couldve beat them in 3 if their serving was better in the earlier sets. But still fantastic match. Jakob said im saving all my aces for the 5th set 😂
I think passing is not the issue. Thelle just tried to do too much. Keep trying to go on two when he is clearly scouted already in that. He should have focused on setting and this game should have been over in four. I think Thelle was just too eager to win over Ball State that he lost focus.
I don't think that's really true. I'm a BSU fan and alum. The announcer would alway make the commentary from, Hawaii's perspective. Like if BSU was ahead from Hawaii, the commentator would say, "Well Hawaii has 5 points to get back into this game.."
Really poor passing performance by the Bows which made their hitting predictable and they really suffered...passing got markedly better in sets 4 and 5 which and you saw their hitting improve...especially Mouklias and Chakas. Credit to Ball State, they played a terrific and gutsy match.
I don't know yall. Something about this Hawaiian team is so much weaker than all the generations of Hawaiian teams that came before them. Maybe the recruiting process is being lazy. But there is definitely a big difference in skills from this current Hawaiian team and the ones from the past.
@@conn_man_249 The same. Still WEAK compared to previous Hawaiian teams. You seem to not understand the fact that I said THIS HAWAIIAN TEAM is WEAKER THAN PREVIOUS HAWAIIAN TEAMS. Winning the 2022 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP doesn't change anything of what I said. lol? Come on.

totally agree!!
Absolutely Agee!!!
Oh no doubt. Unbiased and gives credit where it’s due. They speak highly wherever it’s deserved. Legendary commentators.🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
What a match, much respect to Ball State, they had a great season and they played really good this match! Let's go Bows! MAKE IT BACK-TO-BACK
Experience and Guts. Way to GO BOWS!!! Coach Wade has extreme confidence in his team and it showed in games 4 and 5. Take No Prisoners on Saturday and get Title Number 2.

My exact thoughts!!! The commentators here are so boring
@@GinaMarie650 Yup, boring and can't pronounce foreign names. I hope things are better for the final on Saturday
According to the commentator Kana’i is from CA and Keoni is from AZ…
Lol he's not the worst I've heard but we're so spoiled with Kanoa and Cmac.
@@JosePerez-gp2dz heard that and was like "dis guy wrong."

And not showing the Hawaii crowd/fans as much was a travesty too!

The Greek connection are only sophomores?! They're gonna be a dangerous combo in the years to come!
Chakas is my favorite right now.
i hope these will NOT be the commentators for the finals
hawaii #21 has a simple yet beautiful jump float the movement is crazy
Great match! Ball State had the momentum but Hawaii came on top.
I’m sorry…J.T. (Jakob Thelle) got robbed of NPotY
I think either he, Mitchem, or Jeness should have been NPotY.
I predict Ball State will be back next year, regardless where it is held. They've got the right coaches in place and the players bought into Coach Cruz's system. It would be awesome if UH threepeats.
Only one of the starters of Ball State will be back next year. Everyone will graduate.

I've enjoyed the 1st set, than I ko and wokeup to Hawaii won in 5. So watching this replay, Aloha Nō
Hell yeah. I fell asleep after game 2 then woke up to game 5.
Hawai'i is already my favorite team, but if they weren't I'd be rooting for them because I'd be rooting against the moustaches on Ball State.
2:19:25 What does "1:15" mean on the score in the gym mean? Initially I thought it was the time. But it never changes.
Volleyball looks so fun, I play tennis but it’s probably nice have teammates lol
Amazing match
Go Bows! Can we note it's pronounced Ya-cub Tell-uh, not Jay-cobb Tell-eh
1 minute in and you spoil the result of the other semi ... thanks!
This commentator was obviously a Ball State fan! Next time get Barnett/Sutherland or Leahey/McLaughlin. Please!
Thank you.
Good match......Go Bows!!!
Will you be uploading the championship match?
Jakob Thelle looks so good like him..
Congratulations UH!
NCAA and USA Volleyball really need to grow mens volleyball. It would be awesome to have a national tournament as big as basketball.
Annoying commentator.
Congratulations Rainbow Warriors!
Let's go Bows!!!
Hawaii is the second home of Filipinos mostly Ilokanos from the Northern Luzon, Philippines. I am curious how they fare in the semi finals.
How is this even relevant lol
Jakob "Ta-lay" lmao
who's yacapalaid or acapela> i hear his name often but don't see his name on the roster.
The commentator is rooting for Ball State. Without a doubt. But unfortunately, the Bows prevailed.😂😂😂✌✌✌. Go Bows.😜

I feel like I’m watching golf listening to the commentators… please get new commentators for the championship
good match!!!!!
the commentator should not be back again... he's so bias
I can't stand the commentator 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
I saw blue on that hit.
9:01 poit

UH likes to squander those big leads they have at certain points during this match esp set 1
Barnett/Sunderland...my apologies.

Well they just won the 2022 NCAA Championship now, so what do you think about that?

This "weak" Hawaiian team just beat a "powerful" LBSU team with the Player of the Year. 'Nuff said.
@@smaj808usmc26 I still stand by my comment. WEAK HAWAIIAN team compared to the past Hawaiian teams. That's all.
