I used to put pro Q on everything and now I started trying to use more stock plugins ~ mostly bc it makes using midi controllers more seamless which is important while writing /// I think I will go to Abletons EQ for my writing and tracking sessions and then later Mix on the Pro-Q like I’m used to which will hopefully make me spend less time fine tuning EQs when I shouldn’t be focusing on that anyways:) this was a helpful comparison thank you
Yeah it can be super tough not to over-tweak things in the writing/creation phase of production, that sounds like a healthy workflow! Cheers thanks for watching
This was an immensely valuable comparison + valuable information about getting started with ProQ3. Are there any instances where you find yourself still reaching for EQ eight, for example if you’re just cleaning up a drum sample or something? For someone like myself who is always CPU mindful, I wonder what scenarios I will find myself using the stock eq instead of proq3.
Thank you! Ya I do still use EQ8. It was my only EQ for years and old habits die hard. Pro-Q is amazing for super quick and easy taming of resonant frequencies and revealing frequency masking across tracks. I still reach for EQ8 for quick high passing. Sometimes I even randomly grab EQ3 as its simple interface can sometimes lend more musical sounding choices. Just tools for the toolkit :)

tomorrow we will compare a Hyundai Tucson vs a Lincoln Navigator.
lol! pretty much
I swear all I use is pro q 3. I occasionally use the soundtoys 3 band too but I don’t see the point of using anything else ever
haha same. pretty hard to improve on perfection!
