It was a horrible boring match after 149. Wisconsin made sure of it. Shameful strategy by their coach - you're going to lose, anyway, what message are you sending your kids telling them to go out and take two half hearted shots in a 7 minute match?
Yeah, I'm a big Wisconsin fan, attend every home dual. Wisco needs a few big steps foward as a team if they want to compete with the likes of PSU and Iowa. They're improving tho, and coach Bono has a huge upside
Fully halfway through the video before breske takes a single shot, and even that one wasn't committed. How do you, as a coach, tell your wrestlers to go out there and stall? "go out there and circle away for 7 minutes. ....good job!!". Ref was TERRIBLE the entire night. He must've been a volunteer, because nobody would've paid him for his effort. s got to the end of the match. Breske took two shots. Stalled the whole way and tried to stay at the edge as much as possible. Horrible.
I do enjoy nickal so I may be a bit biased, however my allegiances generally align with Michigan sports. I'm watching this and Breske is always on the back foot and not really ever looking to mount any sort of offense. I think he too like two half hearted shots. It's not like nickal is this high volume shot taker he consistently lumbers his way to scrambles that he wins and takes shots when the game is stale it's not like he (beau) had no time to take more shots. Maybe the stall calls were liberal, but I don't see much out of breske to say he shouldn't have got a stall call. Yeah the placement might be poor but I'm not going to act like, when breske just backed up and circled out for near 7 straight minutes, the refs are somehow out to get wiscy
Probably decent once he's got more experience, but the matches will be boring like this. Stall fest. Nickal is good defensively, he's strong and he's quick. A preview of how he'd have to wrestle came against Dean in the championships two years ago - he stayed closer and in better position. it was boring, but Dean was super strong, and that's what it took to win (i'm guessing - there are a couple of times that dean got hands on shoulders and flipped the younger lighter nickal like nothing - and nickal, to his credit, rolled until he was out of danger instead of getting stuck).
Well Bo never made it to a uww world championship. Unlike someone like Laetitia Blot. Who made it to 2017 world championship in Paris. Not bad for a judoka turned amateur wrestler turned sambo competitor. And she started in her 30s. Didn't win any medals in freestyle wrestling but got gold in judo and bronze in sambo.
Actually she got TWO gold medals at French national freestyle wrestling championships. TWICE in two years. But then again judo was once influenced by catch wrestling ( ancestor of freestyle wrestling, folkstyle wrestling, and pro wrestling). As in pin, suplex ( uranage), some takedown, etc. While catch wrestling got submission from Japanese. In 1930s and 1940s NCAA wrestling you could do a double wrist lock ( at least for a pin).

no, instead, the stall should've been called 8 times before that. two shots the entire time from breske, none really in earnest. I feel sorry for the fans, and if the kid was told to wrestle that way, sorry for him, too. Coach is telling him he's a loser and to go out and try to save face. Guarantee if he wrestles a tough match and gives up a pin incidentally, he'll learn more and the fans will get more out of it. The coach should be ashamed.
I watched breske dominate every wrestler in high school and get absolutely disrespected by Nickal

Luis Ortiz exactly. Breske literally lifted he leg and sprawled from a shot and got called for stalling. Not sure what else he could have done.
