I'm desperate to help a friend who has bought a leather sofa but several open seams!!! Perfect helpful video... given me courage to do it. Thanks

holy sh¡t thank you! I need to stich two pieces together where the stitch would not be seen, I just needed to repair a leather part that had broken off, but all other tutorials were super skillful and complex, I just needed reassurance on how to do an easy stitch to tie them together without messing it up. Perfect tutorial!

I'm gonna be honest I don't have a curved needle right now and it's for a cosmetic piece on the side, but this gave me the confidence and extra knowledge on how to do it, so I'm very grateful for this tutorial

It would be so much easier to flip the couch over and gain access to the separation that way! Which is actually the way it is originally done! This is why it looks so terrible!

What if there isn’t any old thread to tie off

Use a sewing needle to pull out the existing broken thread from the area you are repairing to create slack to tie the new and old threads. IF THERE IS NO THREAD, then tie a knot on the bottom of your new thread, and insert needle from underneath the fabric on one end. When you come to the end of the repair, cut the thread but make sure you leave enough slack to tie it later. Start a new knot repeat the same on the oppsite side and meet up to your slack and tie them together. I hope this info helped.

Next time maybe not make video cuts in between stitches. Each time one hole you pull through, you cut the video till your in the next hole.. why? If you show from one hole to next c9 tinually, tgats teaching. Nice effort, but you have to think like your teaching a child. Thanks for the vid.

I think it's the ladder stitch.
