From what I've seen in the comments, that doesn't actually work for this. The Ankh won't save you if you die to the Abyss. If you die any other way (spikes, being frozen, fall damage, monsters), it's fine.

I don't normally do this, but why didn't you just go in the water with the Idol in 2-3 with the Climbing Gloves? Would have saved a bomb. Either way, good video, although the length of the video gave me an indication as to what's gonna happen.

hey ryan, you've inspired me to play ftl but at home we only have my mums crappy notebook, so i can only play the game with half a screen, so i can't add shields or medbay,o2,engines but i can still use the numberpad, and i managed to get to sector 8 with the zoltan ship and i managed to get the the flagship with the engi cruiser with only 1 shield...i did some good damage XD

He jumped into the abyss once on the hedjet level but still doesn't realize you just have to die anywhere on the level for the ankh to work.
If you had to take a drink every time Ryan does well....you would not be even buzzed :)
