My sir once told story of two brothers, both cleared GATE one of them choose psu and got 6 LPA and second one did Mtech and got job in Qualcomm with 25 LPA...

There is one important factor ,the growth in the carrer is dependent on the psu , In private companies you will learn more and if you are specifically looking for electrical engineering you will get a chance to work in hvdc , control and protection ,grid integration studies because to earn more salary you need to develop your skill after joining organizations
